Back together

"How did you get into so much trouble without us?" Ruby was interrogating Weiss as she healed the girl.

They caught Weiss in a bad shape. Her wounds have closed but scarred her skin. Recent injuries like deep cuts and bruises have yet to heal properly. She had grown thin from all that walking and running, and she was visually a mess. Her skirt was torn on places, her shirt was stained with blood and her corset was slashed across. Weiss's hair that was kept in a braid was unraveled and flowing down, unkempt, and in serious need of a cut. Ruby didn't like the fact that she knew where these injuries came from. Half of them anyway.

"Whatever do you mean, Ruby Rose?" Weiss asked her with a painful grin, fully knowing what her girlfriend meant. She took the girl's hand and intertwined it with hers. Ruby noted how Weiss's hands felt stronger yet still looked graceful.

"You know what I mean, Schnee!" Ruby scolded her girlfriend. She gave a gentle squeeze to the girl's hand. "You're a mess. If you can see yourself right now--"

"I'd rather not do that." Weiss smiled, sighing.

"Glad to see we haven't lost you yet, Ice Queen." Yang grinned at her as she and Blake started cooking food for them. Blake gave Weiss a knowing smile as well, just as glad.

To see all the three of them again made Weiss tear up. People that she can trust. Everything felt better.

Yang and Blake kept the fire going that night while they set up camp in the house Weiss had stayed in. Blake found blankets for all of them to use and wrapped her teammates in soft fleece one by one. The silence they had wasn't full of tension, rather, it was filled more with comfort.

"How...did you find me?" Weiss groaned and turned her head to face Ruby after she did her best healing her injuries. Ruby had gotten pale and slumped her head at the handle of the couch where she laid her lover on, her eyes closed. Weiss looked up at her with worry.

Ruby had been trying to heal her for half an hour and only now did she stop. Most of her bad injuries were gone and better but the scars remained. Ruby must be desperate to see her back in shape, back to how she was before. Unfortunately, Weiss knew that wasn't going to happen.

There was also the thing with how Ruby found her. Sure, she might be a little later than Weiss expected but they found her. It must be taxing for all of them to search the entire continent for one huntress that could be potentially at the next ones over.

"I could track you on Sanus. I kept an eye on you back there." Blake started, turning to Weiss. "But that got difficult the longer we haven't seen you. Eventually, I lost your trail. Fortunately, I lost your trail at the last town you passed through before you came here."

Weiss almost forgot that Blake is a demon in contract with Ruby and Yang is her lover. That meant she didn't use magic the same way the siblings do. Weiss didn't fully know how but it seemed like Blake was more akin to Grimm. To use that much of her abilities for Weiss must be hard. She realized how much of a burden it was for her team to look for her. It was their decision altogether so she shouldn't be guilty, right?

Yang continued with a grin. "We got intel a 'Snow Angel' had crossed the sea to Anima. It wasn't hard to confirm if it was you. You were the talk of a few towns we passed by through." The blonde stood up to help Weiss sit and eat. "Then, Ruby did the rest when we got here yesterday." The former Schnee heiress flushed pink.

Weiss was doing the math. Having realized that Ruby risked her life, used so much power before, and even healed her the moment she could--Ruby must need feeding right now.

"When--When have you last fed?!" Weiss asked, turning to her lover and cupping her cheeks. Ruby had fallen asleep which was why she was silent. Weiss was crestfallen.

With knitted brows and a frown, she looked up at Yang. "Let her lay down here. I'm fine anyway." Weiss stood up, wincing from the sudden sharp pains she felt. They were bearable. Ruby needed rest more than she did.

Yang nodded and carried her sister to the couch, covering her with a blanket. Weiss was pulled to sit next to Blake, staying cozy and toasty by the fire. Yang joined them, sitting next to Weiss and handing her their food. The night was quiet and the storm had died down outside. Weiss was worried about Ruby but she was happy to be back with all of them. She started eating her food while Blake and Yang smiled as they watched her.

"You know, she kept your necklace. That's how she found you." Yang told her as she as well ate. "She kept your old clothes at home. She even brought you clothes to change in."

Blake chuckled. "Her need to bring you things to wear seems to be justified."

Weiss flushed pink and chuckled. She looked behind at the sleeping figure of Ruby and smiled. "I missed her." She turned to Yang and Blake. "I missed all of you."

Hearing such sweet words made both Yang and Blake smile. They leaned their heads at Weiss' shoulders, both of them smiling. "Yeah, we missed you too." The blonde agreed. Blake simply nodded.

The three of them continued to eat by the fire. Throughout the night, Weiss heard their stories. How the school year was in Beacon, how Team JNPR seemed to be pretty affected by Weiss' death, how Ozpin treated them after. Weiss listened to their stories, the good, the sad, and the things she missed. It was a wonderful night to catch up with the two. Seemingly, they have a lot of good fight stories to share too. Yang was proud to show that she can turn any part of her to her dragon counterpart which surprised Weiss. Blake showed the girl how she can change the shape of shadows on the wall and how they came to life.

Weiss was amazed. They saw them all use their abilities in fights but they were willing to show more to her. They trusted her with their powers and showed them who they were. It made her smile.

"How about you? How's your magic?" Yang asked her stretching her arms and legs.

Weiss shook her head with a smile. "It's not something I play with indoors, Yang." She chuckled.

"Aw, come on! You should be able to do something now! How's your semblance?" Yang asked, nudging the girl.

"Your glyphs should be stronger now, right?" Blake asked. "I remember how you used them in sparring class. It's amazing."

Weiss flushed pink. "Oh, stop. Your semblance allows you to leave a copy of yourself and your magic allows you to travel through shadows. Now that is impressive."

Blake chuckled. "Thank you. You're amazing for a human is what I mean."

"Hey!" Weiss nudged Blake. "Yang, can you tell your girlfriend not to undermine my humanity here?"

"I...have to agree with her. She's my girlfriend after all." Yang teased.

All three of them laughed. It felt like the good old times again but they all have grown. It was easy to see.

After hours of talking that felt like minutes, the sun was coming up. Just in time for the sunrise, Ruby had woken up and looked better. Weiss gave Ruby a soft kiss on her forehead, parting her dark red-tipped hair to the side.

"Weiss," Ruby called out. Weiss saw that her eyes were glowing red.

Seeing Ruby hungry for blood felt just like the first time they met. Back then, it made her nervous and scared--just as she is now. Ruby immediately took a drink from her before explaining. Somehow, that memory was funny to her. A hungry vampire unleashed from a vase. It was preposterous.

This time, she was scared and nervous because she didn't know what changed between her and Ruby. Weiss was frightened of what the time and distance have done to them.

Yang and Blake stood up and gave Weiss a pat on her head. "We'll be at the roof to watch the sun."

The pair had left Weiss with her lover. Having time alone with Ruby in an abandoned home was not exactly romantic but they were there. What else could she ask for?

Weiss pulled Ruby up to sit and sat on her lover's lap, throwing her hesitation and worry out the window. "Leave enough for me to get by so we can get to Argus."

Ruby chuckled. "I'll just take what I need, princess. No more, no less." No questions asked, she carefully stripped the girl of her clothes, exposing warm skin to the cold.

It felt as if they barely have been apart. Now that they're together, the time they've been away from one another suddenly didn't feel that long at all. Weiss missed Ruby's warm and gentle touch. The way she was held when it was feeding or when they just stayed close like this. She was worried for nothing.

"Then enjoy your meal, Ruby." Weiss clung to Ruby, closing her eyes and letting the sensation of being fed on flow through her system.

Dawn had broken and the storm has cleared. They were all back together and things were about to get interesting.
