Chapter Nineteen: Want to Buy a Toaster?! Oh, and you're friends gonna die. Lol

-------------------------------------

If there was one thing Willow hated more than anything, was storm spirits.

They always seemed to be the caused of everything bad that happened to her.

Her father died in a helicopter crash because of storm spirits, her aunt died trying to save her from storm spirits, she she got attacked by storm spirits almost five times and Lu, one of her closest friends got abducted by them too.

It had been a few hours since Argus returned from escorting the five half-bloods and satyr to their destination. Surprisingly, Argus had a bandage wrapped around his hand, which worried her very much.

If there was something that could injure a guy with a hundred eyes, then something bad must've happened to the others, though Argus refused to share any information about it, dismissing her with a wave of his hand when she had approached him a while ago.

"You look tense", Wilbur commented as he sat next to her. They were sitting against a tree on top of a hill nearby Half-Blood hill. They we're staring down at the camp and at the Athena Parathenos which looked both serious and angry.
Probably because it wasn't able to prevent the storm spirits from attacking.

"I'm just worried, that's all", she said, sighing. "Alexia nearly killed herself when we were training together"

He raised an eyebrow, "I didn't see you train with her"

"We did it in the forest",she admitted. "I had to teach her to use the weapon mom had given her, or else it would've been useless"

"Wait... So that was you took Alexia on that pegasus!"

She nodded and slumped her head on the tree, a sigh escaping her lips.

It wasn't a good day. The woods have been unusually quiet and the Hephaestus kids had set up traps surrounding the border and the edges of the woods in case of another attack.

The tension was thick in the camp at it was unusually quiet.

Heck, even the Stoll cousins were too busy being trained to defend themselves to even pull a prank on someone.

Sighing, she stared at the rubble scattered around the dining pavilion. According to the older campers, the dining pavilion had been destroyed years ago when a god was turned mortal.

She didn't even know that turning a god into a mortal was possible. But from the hilarious and embarrassing stories that the campers told, the god had a rough time.

In fact, he didn't even know how to use a toilet until then.

Did gods even poop? Would that make their waste...  Godly Poop?

"You're daydreaming again", Wilbur said, poking her cheek, making her blush at the sudden contact.

Yeah, she admit, she may have a crush on Wilbur, but she was pretty sure he only thought of her as a friend, maybe even his little sister.

Yep, she was stuck in the friendzone.

Sad life wasn't it?

Seeing him fanboy and talk about someone in camp (that he refused to share the name of) while she just sat there, smiling like an idiot even though deep inside she was hurting.

He only thought of her as his friend. And when she once confessed to him... He just forced a smile and said that he only wanted to be friends.

But slowly, the awkwardness faded after that, though her feelings stayed intact.

Sad? Yeah.

Sighing, she decided to examine Wilbur's face.

He looked tired. The bags under his exhausted-looking eyes looked almost hollow and his hair was splotches here and there with sweat.

She wanted to tell him to take a nap, but she knew he wouldn't, the worry for the safety of the camp and the health of the others were evident in his eyes.

That was one of the traits she liked about him. Determined and hardworking. But also very oblivious.

He oblivious to all the forced smiles she put on, the sleepless nights she got and the all the times she tried to impress him.

She tried beating him up the lava climbing wall, beating the Apollo kids at archery and even tried to forge arrows to impress him.

But even then, he still only saw her as a friend. She'll never be able to compete with the girl he kept babbling about, she just hope she didn't treat him the way he treated her when she confessed.

As a friend.

The words made her chest tighten painfully.

"HEY!"

The daughter of Demeter snapped back to attention as the son of Apollo shook her rapidly.

"Whaa--?"

"You were spacing out, again", he said, frowning as he poked her forehead. "I wonder what keeps going on in that head of yours"

She waved the seventeen year old off. "It's nothing"

He shrugged, "If you say so"

Suddenly, she heard a voice whisper in her ear.

"Help me... "

"Who--?"

"A time shall come
When a day is done
An army comes from above
Among them is a hostaged dove

A child of Apollo shall be a sacrifice
To save the camp from monsters of vice
Tears of an dark angel shall bring him back
A wisdom child, shall end the attack"

Willow froze, a child of Apollo shall be a sacrifice?
She glanced uneasily at Wilbur, who was busy tuning a ukelele to notice her trembling fingers, horrifyed expression and tapping mouth.

Through a lot of thinking, she realized that the whispering must have been from the cave of Dodona. No one really went there often, but there were rumors that they sometimes here them whispering stuff about selling vacum cleaners and an apple tree cheating on a pear tree.

But never a prophecy.

"Find she who smells like fish, to save thy partner", a hushed voice murmered in her ear.

"Buy this toaster, it's 30% off!", another voice said, trying to persuade her.

And with those last words, the whispering stopped and she was left there, speechless and shocked.

She who smells like fish? To save thy partner?

A thirty percent off toaster?!

What the flip does that even mean!?

She really wished prophecies would just say, in clear English what she had to do instead of giving her codes and impossible to comprehend lines that made her head hurt from trying to decipher their meaning.

Like would it kill them prophecies to just say,

'Hey! Yo half-blood! You gotta go and slay dem monsters and save da goddess of feet bcuz other demigods ain't swag enough for it, you know what I'm sayin? Oh, and yeah, you might die bcuz of a monster attack in Hawaii by some harpies and fire-breathing horses...yeah, good luck with that!'

Willow shook her head.

Nevermind, that was horrible.

But still, it wasn't hard to just say what they want to say.

Sighing, she stood up from the ground and started running (Naruto-style)  down the hill towards the Big House.

Wilbur watched her go with a puzzled look, until he heard it. A faint mumer into his ear, making him freeze.

"She will try to save thy partner, but succeed or not, a death shall follow"
