Chapter Two

-Allie Harlington-

She lays down in bed after school and takes care of her mom and wonders what's going on with Ethan. Why is he acting like this? He hasn't even looked her way in the past eight years. Why now? Allie doesn't understand this. He wasn't in school today even though she saw him in the parking lot. She thinks they all need answers. He seems more confused and less than a prank, the more Allie thinks about it.

It's almost midnight; she doesn't think she will go to school in the morning. Allie strips her clothes and heads out the door. She shifts into her wolf and runs over to the river. Where if questions need answers, they talk to her. Ask forgiveness if they wrong her. Or pray to her because they love her. She only wants what's best for them.

Allie ran out the door and shut it behind her. Her bones begin to break, and fur grows where her skin is. Allie's hands are starting to look like big paws; she feels her tail growing. The pain is still there when Allie shifts but bearable. Her body is starting to get used to the shift.

Now Allie is covered in silver fur with red vision. She runs where they pray to her, Luna, their Moon Goddess. Once she gets there, the moon is high in the sky. It's about a twenty minute long run, where Allie lives.
Allie howled at the moon, asking for answers to questions she had for years. And with the strange events, it's time for those answers. Allie sits and waits for her. It's not a full moon; they just had one. She sat here for about two hours or so. Allie sighs in disappointment and starts to walk home. The tiredness hits her like a ton of bricks. So she decided to sleep in wolf form there underneath the moonlight.

Allie falls asleep under the moon, hoping she will answer her prayers. "My young wolf, all questions will be answered soon. On the prince's eighteenth birthday, you have your answers. I'm sorry what has to be done; it's what needs to be done, my young wolf," Allie hears her say to her. She smiles in her sleep, happy with her answer, knowing it's rare when she answers.

She wakes up in wolf form, thanking the Moon Goddess. Allie hates it when her body shifts back to human while sleeping. Luckily she didn't do that last night.
Allie walks back home; she does a nice pace back. She didn't plan to go to school if she was going to talk to the Goddess.

When Allie gets home, she shifts back into a human. She hopped in the shower and got the woods smell off of her. As Allie gets dressed, her mom walks into her room. "Did she answer your prayers?" She asked. Allie finished getting dressed and said, "yeah, she did; she said I would know my answers soon."

"That's hardly an answer, Allie," her mom barked at Allie.

"It's more than most people get," she reminded her. Allie walked out of her room and walked to the kitchen.
Allie grabs her mom's pills and some water and sets it on the counter. She starts on breakfast next. She grabbed the pancake mix and the measuring cup. What Allie can't wrap her head around is. Why would she apologize? They apologize to her, not the other way around. They worship her, and if they wronged her, they apologize to her. So what could she have done to them, to apologize? Allie knows it's something important; she answered her prayers when their Goddess talks to them; its life and death.

Her mother comes walking into the kitchen; she takes her meds and waits for breakfast. Allie mixes the batter and gets the pan hot. "How did you sleep, mom?" Allie asked.

"I slept okay, my normal night; how was your run," she replies.

"It was nice and peaceful. I needed the run," she told her.

Allie fills up her plate with pancakes, and she does the same. They have a nice quiet breakfast.

After breakfast, Allie does her school work and emails her teachers for today's work. They understand her mom's issues and how she is almost all of Allie's life.

While she waits for a response, Allie straightens up the place. The place was kind of clean already, so it didn't take long.

After she got the email, Allie did her school work at home. Her mom is doing well today. She's been good for most of the summertime. Holidays are the most challenging time. As Allie did her homework, she felt drained all a sudden. She never takes naps, but she might have to. Her mother is having a good day so far. A little rest won't kill Allie.

She put her books aside and decided to lay down a little while. "You have to let him in, my little wolf," Allie hears a woman talking to her. "Let Ethan in; it's not his fault he doesn't remember," she heard her say. "Our kind depends on it, Allie," the voice continued.

After the voice talked to Allie, she saw flashes of their lands, destroyed, and bodies everywhere. No more werewolves, just humans. What happened? Where are their people? Allie walks around in this vision. There are hardly any humans around. She's walking in a town. In the center of the town, men hung up. Some are about to get hung, she begins to run up there. As Allie gets close to people, they don't even know she's there. She tries to ask them to move, but nothing happens. Allie begins to try to push them out of her way. Her hands go through them. They can't see or hear her. She's just observing this. Luna is showing her this. The question is, why is she showing her. Allie's no one special, or that's what she always thought.

Allie wakes up with it being dark. She slept the whole day away. Allie sits up in bed and sighs. She has so much work to do. Allie gets out of her room and checks up on her mom. She's in the kitchen cooking. "Hey, what are you doing?" Allie asks. "Making dinner, I'm fine doing it tonight. You need rest; dinner will be finished in five," she replies.

"Thank you, mother," she told her.

"You're welcome, sweetie," she said. After Allie eats dinner, she spends the rest of the night doing school work. It had to be past midnight before she could take a shower.
After her shower, Allie goes to bed. She can't miss tomorrow too.

-Tori Rivers-

After a long day of school, Tori does her homework at the dining table as she eats dinner. Normally Tori doesn't do this, but she has been working extra hard this year even though she's a junior. She's been wanting to go to an ivy league school to be a lawyer. They normally look at the last two years of high school for acceptance.

As she studies early in the year, the way Ethan has been acting sits on her brain. He's never asked about Allie in eight years. Even in the beginning when her family decided to leave the pack house, she tried to bring Allie up to him, but he acted like he didn't know her.

When she left the house,Tori was still young, and wasn't involved with pack politics yet. Throughout the years she's been more interested in it. The only thing she remembers was that everyone was on edge and worried about war, but the pack is always worried about war. At least Ethan's father is always worried about it.

As Tori studies how the four packs were made for a history test, Callum too hasn't asked about Allie. In fact as the years passed, no high ranked members talk about the family, ever since they left. Around the same time as Tori's parents. She knows she won't get answers about her parents, but maybe she could with what's going on with Allie and Ethan.

-Luna Mary Rivers-

Ever since this school year started things began to feel different at the house. Especially with her oldest son Ethan. Mary can tell her son is going through something, but isn't sure what it could be.

The past handful of years, things felt off, even with her own mate, the Alpha. He's always worried about war, and she remembers a time when he wasn't. Mary wasn't sure when or why the sudden change.

Even her youngest son Brandon, looks like there's a lot on his mind too. Most importantly she feels like something big will happen. Maybe it's the Goddess trying to say something, or mother instinct, maybe even both. Mary, their mother, just wants to protect her boys and make everything better, but she's not sure that's possible for this case.
