-Ethan Rivers-

He was thinking about it all night, who she was. Why can't he put a name to her face? She's the most stunning girl Ethan has ever seen, with long blonde hair, green eyes, and freckles across her cheeks.

The next morning he goes to Tori's room, she's his cousin. They used to play together all the time as kids with Callum and Brandon. "Hey Tori, there is this girl," he says. Tori is sitting in her chair in front of her vanity mirror, doing her makeup.

"I'm listening, cousin," she said.

"She looks oddly familiar, and I can't remember her name; she has blonde hair and green eyes," Ethan said, telling her the description of her.

"Stop being an ass right now; that girl has been through Hell and back; leave her be," she shouted at him and stomped out.
He's about to talk to Tori about her explosion, but Callum pulls his arm to get going. "Come on, don't want to be late and stop pissing Tori off," Callum told him.

"I just asked her a question," Ethan stated.

"Yeah, the wrong one clearly; let's go," he said. He pushes Ethan out of Tori's room, down the hall. Then he follows Callum out to his newish car. His birthday came the other day, and his parents got him a running car. Late last night, he was trapped in thoughts about this girl.

"What's wrong, Ethan?" Callum asked, interrupting his thoughts.

"Nothing," he lied. Callum gives him a look saying, 'I don't buy it.' Ethan sighs and manages to say, "It's this girl."

"Okay, and you get girls all the time," he said.

"I know, but this girl looks so familiar, and I asked Tori about her because I see them talk every so often. She got super pissy at me," Ethan told him the truth.

"Try to talk to the girl today," he advises Ethan.

"I'll try. I don't think she likes me very much," he admits.

"What! Who can not like you, dude?" Callum shouts.

"My bio partner, I think she hates me," he replied quietly.

"Don't get soft on me; say one of your winning pick-ups, and she will be yours," Callum said, patting Ethan on his back.

"I don't think that will work in this case, but thanks anyway," he says, smiling sadly.

They pull up in the parking lot and park in their spot in the back of the parking lot. Ethan sees her walking to school. She walks past him and does a quick glance over at him. Ethan smiled at her, and then he felt his legs jogging over to her. "Hey, wait up," Ethan heard himself say.

"Yes, Alpha Ethan," she said in a mocking tone.

"I'm not Alpha; my father is," he reminded her.

"No, but you will be Alpha soon enough, though," she said.

"You look very familiar. Do I know you from somewhere,?" he asked told her.?

"You're not serious, are you? I'm not sure what would be worse, you not remembering me or this is a sick joke," she snaps at him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. I really don't remember you, but you're beautiful, and I can't think of your name or where I know you from," Ethan blurted out.

"Now I know you're lying; you hardly ever looked at me since I moved out of the Pack House, and now you're interested in me again," she said as she picked up her pace.

"Wait, you lived in the Pack House?" He asked. She walks over to him a foot in front of him, and she slaps his face. She walks fast away from him. Ethan hears her start to cry, and his heart breaks a little.

Ethan then picks up his pace to catch up, but Callum stops him. "Give her space; try another day," he said and walked away to give him space.

He takes his time walking to class; Ethan needs time to fix this. Now he knows she was living in the Pack House at one point. How can he forget someone completely? Ethan couldn't wrap his head around it. "Fuck it," he tell himself. He strips his clothes and shifts into his wolf; Ethan loves what his wolf looks like. All black with red eyes, it's the sign of the Alpha.

After Ethan throws his clothes in Callum's car through the window, he runs. He doesn't know where else to turn except her. Their Goddess Luna, he's not sure she will hear him. It's not nighttime or a full moon, but one can hope.

When he gets to her, it's almost midday. Ethan stands by the river, and he howls at the sky. Asking for answers, praying to her, asking forgiveness for not praying earlier. He sat and waited for her. A few hours pass, and Ethan heads home. She didn't answer his prayer; he will try the next full moon again.

When Ethan walks in the door, he shifts back, and clothes are handed to him by an omega. He thanks them, and they leave. He puts on the clothes and heads to his father's office. He doesn't know who else can give him answers.

Ethan walks into his office, and he's on the phone with most likely Alpha Jack. He and his father are close; they became Alpha about the same time. Like the Alpha for Pack Rivers will pass it to Mason about the same time as Ethan. Alpha Jack would be another person he can ask about this if his father doesn't know. Alpha Jack is like another father to him. "Father, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need guidance," Ethan says truthfully. He says goodbye to Alpha Jack and looks at him.

He says, "So she didn't answer your prayers."

"No, father, she didn't," Ethan told him.

"Sit," he ordered him. He does so in response.

"What's wrong, son?" Father asked.

"It's this girl she looks familiar to me; she said she lived in the Pack House. I can't remember her at all," Ethan admitted. He sighs and says, "Son, I don't have time for girl advice, now a war is coming I feel it in my bones. I have a lot of work to do," he said, dismissing Ethan. He nods and leaves, not too sure what to believe.

Ethan thought he was loud enough for the Moon Goddess; he's so frustrated he's shaking. He's trying to remember her or her family. Ethan knows something happened, but he can't remember.

He walks into his room, and his phone goes off, and it's Ethan's summer fling calling. "Fuck it," he said. He answers the phone; he has to get the frustration out somehow. "You can come over," Ethan tells her and hangs up.

A little bit later, a knock on my door, he said, come in, and it's his summer fling. "Alpha Ethan, you seem very upset today," she said.
"I am, but I don't want to talk about it," Ethan warns her.

"You just want to release then?" she asked.

"Yes, that's it; that is all this is between us," he reminded her. She comes over in response and kisses him over and over. Ethan moves over to the door to shut it so that no one will hear them.

After a good time with Amber she leaves the pack house and goes back home. The second Amber is gone and the distraction, his bio partner comes rushing back into his head. The frustration of not being able to remember comes back, there's only one other person Ethan can ask.

Ethan uses his phone and calls Alpha Jack, the Alpha of Pack Highlands, the wisest pack. Only two rings and he picks up. "Ethan, are you okay?" Alpha Jack asks.

"I'm not sure, there's this girl I ran into, she looks so familiar to me, she admitted she used to live at the pack house. I get a headache trying to remember her," Ethan explained in one breath.

"Slow down Ethan, take a breath, I'm not hanging up on you," Alpha Jack says in a calm voice. As soon as he says that Ethan's calm and collected.

"Now, tell me what's going on son," Alpha Jack starts the conversation over.

"Since this school year started, I saw this girl, and I feel like I know her. Everytime I try to remember how I recognize her, I feel like something is stopping me from knowing her. I tried to talk to her, and she admitted she lived in the pack house. Alpha Jack I don't know what to do," he explained, taking it slow.

A few minutes pass before he gives Ethan advice. "What did your dad tell you?" He asks.

"That he didn't have time for girl advice, he's worried about war," he told Alpha Jack. "How can I forget someone completely?" Ethan asks.

"That's impossible if she lived in the pack house, you should remember her and her parents. If something happened and her family left the pack house, keep trying to communicate with her. You were probably good friends with her, and explain to her how you did with me," Alpha Jack advises him.
"She slapped across the face, I think it will take a bit more," Ethan admitted.

"If she's your mate, whatever has happened, won't matter, just that you will be reunited again," Alpha Jack wisely points out. After that Alpha Jack had to go to his son Landon who's younger than Brandon needs him.

When Ethan hangs up, he ponders what he said about mates, if they are mates they will find out in a few months. He's almost eighteen and most likely so is she.

-Callum Brooks-

When he walks to his locker, and heads to class, Callum notices Ethan never went inside the building. He knows there's a lot going on with his best friend. Callum wishes he could help more with the mystery girl. He did catch what she said, and Callum doesn't remember her living in the pack house either.

Which makes him wonder if she lived in the pack house at one point. Why doesn't she live there now, and why doesn't anyone remember her? He knows these are the questions that invade Ethan's mind since school started back up. As Callum tries to picture the girl's name, he gets a headache trying to remember.

With Ethan absent from school, Callum grabs his assignments for his friend. He knows Ethan most likely won't do the assignments but, at least he has them.

Callum sits in his room and does his homework, he ponders the past few days. He remembers what Ethan said about Tori. Why does she remember this girl?

He finds Tori doing her homework, and he sits across the table from her. She sighs and says, "Callum, I'm trying to focus on history homework, what is it?"

"The girl Ethan is trying to talk to, how come you remember her, but no else does," he questions that day.

"It was around when my parents became rogues and left the pack. I wasn't involved with pack politics yet, but I remember members being very hectic. Allie's father was 3rd in command, he was fighting rogue werewolves inside our territory. Some fighters got hurt, but Allie's father died that day. The following day, Allie and her mother left the pack house, and my parents never came back. I wish I could answer your question Callum, but I'm not sure why I remember the day of the attack," Tori answers.

"And we were all friends weren't we," Callum assumes correctly.

"Yes, and that's probably why it's not going well for Ethan. They were inseparable," Tori admits.

-Brandon Rivers-

After school he goes to the library to do his homework and read one of his favorite books. When it comes to reading, Brandon, the brother of the next Alpha, can't remember who taught him the love of books. Brandon just remembers he loves them, he knows his mother didn't read to him.

Brandon knows he's not the only one with memory gaps when thinking about the past. He heard his brother howled to the Moon Goddess, and talked to their father. The two brothers used to be closer as kids, but years went by, and the two drifted apart. Brandon still has love for his brother, and he understands they have different interests. He can sense something's off with Ethan since the school year started, and he can't tell what's changing about him. Brandon can just feel it in the house.

As he reads his favorite part of the book, he sighs and slams the book in frustration. Brandon throws the book across the library and breaks down crying. Running his hand through his black short hair, trying to calm down. "Luna, please let me understand how I could forget someone," he cries out.

-Alpha Jacob Rivers-

The Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, always had war on his shoulders for almost a decade. He remembers rogues attacking the pack, and new ranks were put in place. Because of this attack he always has the fear of it happening again, so he's always working to make sure it doesn't.

Although it was odd for his oldest son to interrupt him while he's working. It was also strange for his son to howl at the Moon Goddess. The Alpha does kick his son out of the office when it's about the girl of the week. The Alpha has more important things on his plate.

Alpha Jacob knows his son isn't perfect, but also knows he's just a teenage boy, learning how to be a man. He knows once his oldest son finds his mate he will stop bringing home girls of the week. Alpha Jacob couldn't wait until he turned eighteen and he found the next Luna. "Hopefully, she will make a man out of him, and won't put up with the bullshit," Alpha Jacob says to himself.
