FIVE YEARS AGO....

I watched him from afar, admiring him, as the bell was rang for closing, he held his pen twirling it in his hands slowly.
And some of his friends passed by and they gave him a hand shake. And he laughed as he talked to them.

And suddenly he turned and looked at me, our eyes meet. His gaze were intense as his blue eyes were glittering in the room and he did something I didn't expect, he smiled.

And I quickly looked away as I picked up my bag and left in a rush.

He caught me staring at him, how embarrassing.

"hey Melissa," my friend Lizzy called after me, "I know who you are running away from again."

"Really" I said sarcastically, even though I knew what she was talking about.

"It's him again, Sam right" Lizzy said as she held my shoulder and made me face her, "I told you times without number that you should just confess your feelings to him."

"Are you crazy?" I asked as I gently removed her hands from my shoulder "I can't risk it, he's too famous and kinda rude,  besides I could embarrass myself"

"you can never embarrass yourself, you're Melissa." she yelled as she walked faster to catch up with me, "besides we are in our final year, you could just write him a letter."

"stop yelling he could hear us" as we walked in silence I thought about it, I could write a letter and slip it into his locker.

"I will write him a letter" I said to Lizzy.

"Finally girl" she smiled, "it's worth the try."

"Yeah" I said as we were headed out of the school.

"Meli, how was school today?" my mother asked as she was watching a movie in the parlor.

"fine mum" I said, as I gave her a hug.

I had eaten lunch and had a nice shower and dressed up. as I heard a knock on my door. I hadn't said enter yet and my little brother Diego had enter in.

"Meyisa" he said. He always made me laugh, he always pronounce my name in a funny way.

"yes my little baby brother." I said. he was four years old and he had just lost some little baby tooth.

He frowned as he looked up at me. "me not a babai" and he pushed out his tongue.

"You're so naughty little Diego" I said.

"mummy," he yelled "Meyisa caling mee naaugtty" and I watched him as he ran out of my room.

My mum yelled from the kitchen, "Melissa, stop calling your brother naughty okay, and be nice to him."

"okay mother" I said.

I was on my bed going through my messages on my phone and Lizzy texted me

Hey girl, don't back out now hope
😄You got the letter ready?

🙄Not really but I will, Asap.

I was seriously nervous, it's not like I'm a nerd or something but I felt wired.

I kept my phone down as I got a piece of paper and a pen, even though I knew writing on a paper to express my feeling, was a little old fashioned, I mean, I could just get his number.

And I started writing.

Dear Kevin,

I really, really like you a lot.

From ~ your crush

Well, for now, I like to keep my identity a secret.

And suddenly my phone binged and I quickly picked it up, there was a message from an unknown number.

I felt my heart almost beating out of my chest.

And I opened it.

Hi, I know your secret 😜 If you
You don't want your secret out,
Meet me after the school closes
Behind the apple tree. Or else
The entire marble highschool
Will know about this😁

It was more of a demand, I mean what secrets do I have. And I wrote back

I will be at the apple tree
Tomorrow, and it better be
good cuz I have no secrets 😒

😂 😂 I will be waiting
And don't think I don't know
Your little dirty secret...

And I tossed my phone on my bed as I lay down, some people are so freaking annoying.

And I laid down on my bed as I pulled my pink blanket over me and slept.

Next day...

I was right on time, I had already slipped my letter into Kevin's locker.

And I made my way to my locker.
As I opened my locker, a note had fallen down.

It was strange, someone left a note in my locker and the person must had come to school earlier then I had.

And I picked it up

It just had to be a prank.

And I opened it

Dear Melissa,
I really like you, I have never fallen in love before so this is kind of crazy, when ever you look at my with your gorgeous brown eyes that always find a way to glittering. My heart always skips a beat. You're so perfect, don't bother to meet me behind the apple tree.

This was creepy but cute, someone also admire me it was all too coincidental.

I had also written a note and slipped it into Kevin's locker just some minutes ago, and I didn't write my name as well.

"Hey girl" as some kept there hands on my eyes, "guess who it is?"

"Ryan," I said as he removed his hands from my eyes, "I know your voice anytime"

"what is that in your hands?" he asked as he tried to collect the note from my hands as I quickly slipped it into my pocket.

"it's nothing you should know about," I said flashing him a playful smile.

"Oh, come on, I'm your first boy best friend ever, at least just tell me" he said as he made a cute face.

Ryan always found a way to make me tell him my secrets, and if I don't he will nag all day,he would follow everywhere on till I tell him.

And I quickly handed the note to him.

And he read it curiously, "so someone has a crush on you" and he smiled "and the person is hiding their identity, interesting"

"Are you done?"

"nope"

And the bell rang for first period. we had geography. And I shut my locker as I was headed to my class and Ryan walked besides me.

"we will talk in the cafeteria" and he winked as he left.

I was seated in class and I kept my book on the table.

"good morning class, how are you all doing?" the teacher said.

The class was quite,

"our topic today is latitude and longitude" the teacher said.

Blah blah blah, I had shut the teachers voice and I looked at the window.

"Melissa do you mine telling me what I had just said" he asked

"what" I said

Mike laughed so hard, "why asks her"

"keep quiet okay" the geography teacher said "I know you don't know the answer Melissa."

And I sat back down. And I turned around to find Kevin looking at me.

How embarrassing

After the boring class had ended I was at the cafeteria. The whole student were looking quite excited, I could feel love in the air because it was almost Valentine's Day.

And Ryan sat close to me.

"I'll find out who it is, and then I'll beat him up" he said.

"no need Ryan, he's free to express his feelings to me" I said as I took a bite of my apple.

"You have no idea who he is, you're not even sure how he got your number" and he laughed. "he's more of a stalker than a crazy crush"

"alright, have it your way" I said as I drank my orange juice.

"I'm gonna protect you from him" he said. "make sure you tell me if he tells you anything again."

And I nod.

My best friend is so protective. But it is nice anyways, that's why I like him. he's like my brother and my best friend all together.

And I glanced at the entrance of the cafeteria I could see the triplets approaching they were the- as the students call them the -stunning blondes there names are Maya, Saya, and Caya. They were very identical, tall they always wore shorts skirt and it appears like they are sharing some invitation of some sort. They were having another party.

"there so hot" Ryan said as he watched them. "they are having another amazing party."

They were headed our way as they flipped their hair at the same time.

"hey Ryan" as Caya, waved her hand.

And Saya eyed me "and hey, what her name again" and they giggled.

"oh, Melissa" Caya replied, now they all laughed.

"you're invited to our party this weekend Ryan." Maya did a little roll of her eye, "and Melissa."

"Here's our invitation card, the party is tomorrow by 10:00pm" and they gave Ryan and me. And they left.

Any party that the blonde triplets host were always the best, I couldn't even believe I was even invited. But I was not really the party-goer-type if that was a word.

"Melissa please don't tell me you're thinking of not going to the party" Ryan said.

"yep, I'm not sure if I should g." I said.

"you're almost eighteen years old for crying out loud, and you don't have to worry, I'll be with you" he smiled and then winked.

"okay" I said.

"So what are you gonna get me for Valentine's next week Melissa?" he asked.

And the bell rang.

And I stood up from the table

"it's meant to be a surprise besty." and I winked.
