Morning (Again)

The bright white light from outside leaks through the cracks of the hotel curtains, illuminating the whole room. The alarm clock went off half an hour ago, and we're still half asleep. Someone comes knocking on the door.

"Lovebirds! Open up! You'll miss breakfast!" I recognize Francis' voice.

I get out of bed and go to open the door. In the hallway stands France, covered in bruises, already starting to fade, eating a croissant.

"So how was yesterday? Y'know, after the date? Do anything fun?" France says in a teasing voice. "You probably did. Russia always wakes up early, especially for breakfast."

"Francis, you shouldn't mess with Russia. You remember what happened yesterday, right?"

"Of course! How could I forget?" France half laughs.

"Since you seem in such a good mood today morning, do you want to hear a joke?"

"Sure, why not."

"French Military Achievements." I say right before slamming the door in his face.

I go up to Ivan to wake him up. "Ivan wake up," I say while shaking him. He opens his violet eyes and looks at me. "Oh, доброе утро, sunflower." He says. (Good morning)

He jumps out of bed and changes into his usual clothes. I do the same.

. . .

"Ciao, Bella!" Italy calls to me. "Sit next to us." He says while smiling. He points to two empty seats next to him, Romano, Germany and Japan.

"So tell us what is new? Are you and that bastard actually dating?" Lovino asks. "You can always come to me" He winks.

"Are you going to be a mother!? I can be a good step-father! I'll help raise the new little country as my own." Feliciano says excitedly.

"I'm not pregnant!" I say frantically. "As for me and Ivan . . ." I look at Russia. He makes a face that spells 'Your choice.'

". . . Yes, we are together." I say. Ivan smiles wider than I ever saw him smile.

I hear gasps from every direction. I didn't notice everyone was listening to our conversation. My face turns awkwardly red. Did I say the wrong thing?

Ivan excuses himself from the table. "I'm going to get breakfast. (y/n), do you want anything?"

"Yes. Could you get me a waffle with whipped cream, and a some eggs and bacon?"

"Sure thing." Ivan says while walking away.

"How did you fall for him?" Lovino asks. "You know I can treat you much better than he can. I can be gentle if you like." He winks.

"LOVINO!" Italy raises his voice.

"Can we please talk about something else? I beg.

Germany enters the conversation. "What is your favorite battle strategy?" He asks.

"I wasn't in many battles yet, but so far, when I attacked Prussia. . ." I begin. "Oh! I'm sorry! I completely forgot he was your brother!"

"It's fine." Germany responds.

"I'm only telling you this because I assume we are allies. We are, right?"

"Of course!" Japan states after a sip of his Ryokucha tea. (Japanese Green Tea) "Though I do find it slightly suspicious that you are allies with both the axis powers and the others. But I won't make that big of a deal of it. You might be the first step to gaining world peace." He says calmly.

"I prefer attacking the capital first with a surprise attack. This leaves the opponent stunned or weak, most often at least." I state confidently.

"I would suggest having a backup plan. What if the capital attack doesn't weaken the other country? What will you do then?" Germany suggests.

Ivan comes back with two plates of food. "I'm back. (y/n), could you come with me for a moment? The allies want to speak to you too." He tells me.

"Okay, let's go." I say getting up from my seat.
