Let's Just Go Ahead and Spill Everything

Chapter Twenty-Eight: Let's Just Go Ahead and Spill Everything
Percy's P.O.V.

BEING FORCED TO WATCH my own memories is a scenario I had never imagined. Most of it had happened so long ago I didn't think about it often. Except for the revisit of Tartarus. That was slightly more recent and a little more memorable. I was left on the floor of the Entrance Hall, and after coming face to face with Harry I knew that he had seen everything I had.

All I was doing was trying to make sure Annabeth didn't actually hit him with a spell, but I suppose that backfired. I could feel Annabeth's intense gaze, but I didn't think much of it. If I had messed up that spell, what had she intended it to do? I didn't even realize I had blurted out the question until Annabeth put her hand on my shoulder.

"Rursus Memoriae. It's a spell in which you can show others parts of your own memory. I intended it to show Harry our purpose in being here, in a very broad fashion, mind you. Nothing to endanger the quest. But then you, Seaweed Brain, had to get in the way and mess up everything." She paused before muttering, "Typical of you."

"I don't always mess everything up!"

"You're right, it's only you half the time. The other half is when Leo gets involved."

"But, then...?" We both turned to see Harry. I had forgotten about him being with us. This was going to be some difficult explaining. "Are you saying that was your memories?"

"You saw everything I did, so I suppose so," I told him. Annabeth shoved my shoulder.

"What do you mean, purpose of being here?" Harry asks.

"Look do you trust us?" Annabeth questions him.

"Er- no."

"Good. Because of him you don't have a reason to. It's hard to believe he's the reason civilization isn't in ruins."

Though I wanted to protest, Annabeth had valid points. Seeing as the situation we were currently in, it wouldn't do anyone any good to argue with her.

"Who are you and what are you doing here? I knew there was a reason I couldn't remember any of you from the start, despite what Hermione said."

"Harry, our purpose here is a good one. We're here just because a stupid prophecy," at the mention of the word 'prophecy', Harry visibly gritted his teeth, "and you have to believe us," Annabeth said.

"Just like we told you, I'm Percy Jackson and she's Annabeth Chase. We're halfbloods... but the kind you're thinking of. This is our first year at Hogwarts and you're the first person to figure it out. Not like that's much of a challenge anyways."

"What do you mean, halfbloods but not the kind I'm thinking of?" Harry questioned. "You could still be lying for all I know."

"Harry, think about what you saw in Percy's memories. Do we really look like we want to do anything to do endanger you?"

Harry looked at both Annabeth and me before nodding. "You two, along with Piper, Leo, and Nico never doubted me when I said Voldemort returned. And last night at the Ministry...."

"Annabeth! Percy!" Piper came into the Entrance Hall. "You do realize you've been gone five minutes? You have to see this package Hecate sent."

"Not now Piper, we-"

"Annabeth," Piper said, "she says that you'll understand how we'll use it. It's urgent."

"Piper, give me one more minute." Annabeth turned to Harry, "What do you mean last night at the Ministry?"

"You were there. Why do you keep asking me?"

"Harry, I swear on the River Styx that last night we were here at the castle. We know nothing of what happened at the Ministry?"

"River what? And I'm still confused, what do you mean by halfbloods exactly?"

"Annabeth, Percy... he doesn't-"

"Not now Piper."

"Halfbloods... We're half human, half God," I paused. "To be specific, Greek Gods."

"Guys, what are you thinking you can't just-"

"Piper we messed up, okay?" said Annabeth. "There's no point in hiding anything now."

"Greek Gods," I heard Harry mutter. "That's a new one."

"We can't just abandon the entire quest," said Piper. "Chiron, the whole Camp is depending on us. We can't just-"

"What quest?" Annabeth cried. "We have exactly one week until term ends, then we're gone back to Camp. After that, we can't come back. It's hopeless!"

"Annabeth's right," I tell Piper. "It's not like we can change anything now."

"Maybe we can," Piper said. "Come and see what Hecate sent us."

Can I just say I hate it when she accidentally Charmspeaks us? Of course, this time around it might have not been accidentally. Harry, Annabeth, and I all follow Piper back into the Great Hall. She sat down between Nico and Leo, and pulled up a small hourglass connected to a golden chain.

"Is that what Hecate sent?" Annabeth asked.

"A weird jewelry piece?" I examined the necklace she held.

"It's not just jewelry," said Harry.

"What is it then?" I asked.

"A time turner," said both Piper and Harry simultaneously.

"And what's that?"

"It's 'a device used to travel short periods into the past,'" said Leo.

Annabeth crossed her arms, "And you of all people, know this how?"

"I read it," said Leo simply. "Hecate's note."

He handed back the slip of paper to Annabeth and I. Once again, Hecate went to measures to write it in Greek.

As your quest is concluding, it has come to my attention that there may be a situation where this device is necessary. It is only to be used in the occasion of an emergency, and I certainly anticipate that it may be crucial for you to conclude your quest. I trust Annabeth will know how to use it rationally. It's called a Time Turner, it is typically a device used to travel short periods into the past. Improper use of this could result in the dire consequences with Ministry. If there is any chance that it will put you in more danger being seen with it, destroy it at once. The Ministry has a large store of them, so breaking this one doesn't matter. Good luck, Hecate.

P.S. One turn is equal to approximately one hour.

"Time Travel..." pondered Annabeth. "If Kronos had ever...."

"What language is that?" Harry squinted his eyes.

"Ancient Greek," I told him.

"Oh, yeah. Right. Greek Gods. Like, is that a normal thing?"

Leo nearly choked on air, while Nico stared at him in disbelief.

"Since when does he know?" Leo asks.

"Since now," I gave them both a look that clearly said, 'We'll talk about this later.'

Annabeth gasped, almost dropping the entire package. "I think I know what we can do with this!"

"What?" Piper asked. "What is it?"

"Harry. You kept saying we were at the Ministry. But the thing is, from our perspective we haven't been to the Ministry yet. Tell us everything. There had to be some reason we go there."

Harry recounted his story of what occurred at the Ministry, which left us all in awe. We listened intently until the end. The prophecy still wasn't clear... but Annabeth seemed to be piecing everything together.

"One more thing," Annabeth said. "About what time do you think you left for London?"

"I'd say... roughly about six o'clock. I kind of lost track of time when Hermione and I tricked Umbridge into the forest."

"What do you mean 'tricked Umbridge' into the forest?"

"Long story- she ended being carried away by a herd of centaurs."

All six of us broke into laughter. This would be a story worth telling Chiron. I hope they get their revenge on her, because she deserves everything she gets.

"Alright, Piper. You get the necklace, we're going out to the Forbidden Forest," said Annabeth. "I'd say... Fifteen turns will give us enough time. Then we can call Blackjack and some of the other-"

"I'm shadow traveling," Nico said at once.

Annabeth looked solemn, "I'm sorry Nico. Really. But for this to work we're all going to have to tail them on the Thestrals."

"Fine," Nico signed. "But next time, it's my call."

Annabeth nodded. "I suppose we should get going now. I have my hat, do you guys have everything you need."

"Yep," Leo smiled. "You know I'm always ready, despite the fact we haven't done anything like this in months."

"Let's go," Annabeth said. "And... Uh, Harry? Thanks for your help, and we're honestly sorry for everything. We had to keep secrecy. It's hard to explain, but maybe later...."

"Er- Sure," he said. He leaned up against the Gryffindor table awkwardly.

Just as we were almost out of the Great Hall, I realized that we had left Hecate's note back at the table. I told everyone else that I'd catch up. When I returned back to the table I saw Harry holding the note.

"Oh, hey- Er- I was just about to bring this to you."

"Oh cool," I said. "Thanks. I wouldn't want to leave it lying around for very long."

There was a moment of hesitation when he handed me the note.

"So... Greek Gods huh?" he said. "They actually exist?"

I pocketed the note, "Yeah. Er- you're taking this really well."

Harry shrugged, "It's been a long day. It'll hit me later."

"I don't know about you," I said, "but now I have to go live it again."

"I would tell you good luck," Harry said. "But seeing as I was there and know what happens...."

"You didn't tell us everything, did you?" I blurted out.

"There is something that I don't want to tell you," he admits. "I'm afraid if I tell you now, there'll be nothing I can do to change it. I've time traveled before, I know how it works."

"I understand. But... you've done this before?"

"Back in my third year. It's a long story. Hermione had one of those so she attend classes that happened during the same period. She gave it up when she dropped some of her classes though."

I snort, "If I had something that could time travel I would never give it up."

"I know the feeling," Harry said. "It would've come in handy last year in the graveyard. Maybe then I could've at least saved Cedric."

There was a moment of silence between the two of us. I could leave now... but....

"Don't be so hard on yourself," I tell him. "It wasn't your fault. I've had friends die in front of me too. I know what it feels like."

Harry nodded. "And I expect you to give me an proper explanation about that. But right now, you shouldn't be here talking with me. Your friends are waiting on you."

"True. Anyway, good seeing you Harry. And if I survive this one, I will give you an explanation."

Me: I do not own any of the characters. All characters either belong to Rick Riordan or J.K. Rowling.
Me: Aside from that, I also have a conspiracy theory.
Annabeth: Run. Nobody can guarantee your safety if you stay.
Percy: *snickers* But aren't you Nobody?
Annabeth: Perseus Jackson I am serious this time.
Percy: You know I don't respond when you call me Perseus.
Annabeth: Talking back to me is 'responding'.
Percy: I'm not talking back.
Annabeth: You just did.
Percy: Styx.
Me: ... All I was going to say is how crazy it was that both Harry and Percy heard life changing Prophecies when they were fifteen that was set up for them years before.
Annabeth: Clearly she doesn't know what 'conspiracy theory' means.
Me: Everything is a conspiracy theory Annabeth. Don't fight it, just accept it.
