Sunghoon sat on his bed, reading his copy of "Ailments and their Causes". In order to become a healer, knowledge of the diseases was as important as emotional balance and concentration. Sucking out the diseases required you to concentrate on the organ the disease had affected and think about the possible causes. Those causes needed to be mentally incinerated. The culprit needed to burn in your head.

It sounded complicated when worded out, but that is how it worked.

Learning all this stuff was hard. Sunghoon admitted that he had never really been a bright student at school. He had been pretty average, but he had toiled hard and got into the best healing school in the country. Unlike his fellow Caladrius friend Jake, he was bad at memorizing and learning stuff. He was still very positive about the fact that the only reason why he made it was because he was good at applying his skills.

DING
Someone rang the doorbell.

'Yeji ah!,' he shouted. 'There's someone at the door!'
'Yeji!', he screeched again.

No response.

'Ugh that brat,' he grunted and headed towards the door. 'Sunghoon ah, it's your friend,' his mother smiled at him.
He looked at the couch in the living room where Sunoo sat with his mom. He waved at him.

'How have you been, dear? Sunghoon told me you signed a contract with DN entertainment?,' she looked at him, her eyes radiating happiness.
'Ah. Yes eommoni,' he smiled, his pretty fennec fox eyes crinkling crescent. 'That's great! Your parents must be so proud of you!,' she patted him on the back. 'They are,' he smiled and nodded.

'Sunoo yah,' Sunghoon smiled at him and pulled him into a hug. 'What brings you here?,' he said.
'Yah what is this?,' he sulked. 'Do I really need a reason to come and see you?'
Sunghoon giggled. 'Of course not, Ddeonu. I'm just really glad that you're here.' 'Oh. You were studying, hyung,' he frowned. 'I didn't disturb you, did I?' Sunoo frowned as they entered Sunghoon's room. 'Ani ani,' he shook his head. 'I didn't really have anything to do so I thought I might as well study,' he lifted his book. 'This one's my weak subject anyway.'

BANG. THUD.

The door suddenly slammed open and revealed Yeji. 'Sunoo oppa!,' she exclaimed in joy. 'Yeji ah,' Sunoo grinned. They both held each other's hands and began jumping and laughing loudly.

Sunghoon scoffed. This idiot could hear Sunoo's voice and footsteps really well but apparently when he called her she turned deaf.

'It's so great to see you!,' she squealed in joy. 'You're gonna debut as a singer soon, right?'
Sunoo nodded and smiled.
'You should come by more often!,' she pouted, holding his right arm. Sunoo chuckled. 'I'll try to come as often as I can now, don't worry,' he reassured her.

Sunghoon felt slightly annoyed. Somehow Sunoo got along better with Yeji than he did, and it irritated him. He was her brother, not Sunoo. He was supposed to share that kind of a bond with her, not him.

'It's eight PM, Yeji,' Sunghoon looked at the clock. 'Isn't it past your bedtime?'
'I love how relevant this statement would've been ten years ago, oppa,' his younger sister scoffed at him.
Sunghoon narrowed his eyes. 'Go back to your room, Yeji,' he said firmly. Yeji squinted back at him. 'Whatever,' she muttered under her breath and left.

Sunoo shut the door. 'You're too harsh hyung, don't you think?,' he said softly. 'She deserves it,' Sunghoon shook his head. 'You don't know but she almost gave me a heart attack a couple of days ago,' he said. 'What?,' Sunoo exclaimed. 'Our passcode lock got damaged so we used the manual lock and key for a few days. I ran a bit late that day and thought Yeji must've been waiting for long. But there were no calls or voicemail or texts from her. I panicked and tried to look for her in the building and outside our apartment, only to find a sticky note on the door which said that she was going to skip coaching classes to go out with her friends.'

Sunoo burst into a gale. 'Daebak.'
Sunghoon scoffed. 'There's nothing "daebak" about it, Sunoo. You don't have a younger sibling so you don't understand.'
'Well I'm happy I don't have one, hyung. It's too much responsibility,' he shrugged. 'Forget about that, hyung. Tell me, are you seeing someone?'
Sunghoon turned a little red. 'Yah....All of a sudden? Why do you ask?,' he faltered.
Sunoo bumped his shoulder into Sunghoon's. 'Why are blushing, hyung,' he said. Sunghoon could swear that right at that moment, his friend looked like the human embodiment of a Lenny face.

'Yah what's up with your face! You look scary like that. And no, I'm not dating anyone,' Sunghoon said in one breath. 'Why do you ask, though?,' he said.
'Relax hyung,' Sunoo laughed. 'I was asking you only because one of my friends saw your Instagram profile. She noticed we followed each other so she asked me to introduce her to you. Any chance-'
'No, thank you,' Sunghoon said promptly. 'But you didn't even see her-'

'No thanks,' he said. 'Uhm, okay,' Sunoo shrugged. 'You're talking as if you're committed to someone though,' he said. 'Is there someone you're interested in?,' his voice dropped down to a whisper. 'Aish! What's your problem Kim Sunoo?,' he cried. Sunoo giggled. 'What about you Ddeonu? Are you seeing someone?' 'No hyung. But you can set me up, I'm fine with that!,' he flashed his crescent smile.

'Yeah I would've, but unfortunately I don't have anyone in mind, Sunoo,' he shrugged. 'Uh that's too bad. I was bored these days anyway,' Sunoo shrugged. Sunghoon looked at the clock. It was quarter to nine already.

'Sunoo ya, I think you should leave now. It's really late already, and roaming around the streets at night is the dumbest thing anyone can possible do,' he said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
Sunoo's face fell. 'I wanted to stay here longer, hyung but you're right. I should get going now. Bye,' he got up from his bed. Sunghoon hugged him. 'I'm glad you came to see me, Ddeonu,' he patted his head and smiled at him. 'Don't worry, hyung. I'll drop by more frequently now to bother you,' he chuckled. Sunghoon grinned.
