The afternoon sun starts beating down on them. It wasn't too hot for them, but it will be a pain to deal with once the fight starts. They all know this, especially the guys. The morning breeze picks up the pace making their hair blows to the side. The tension in the crowd is almost choking as the bloodlust from them all is overwhelming them. They all don't like to show it but the way they breath is shallow and nervous.

Dex legs are shaking while he held his left arm as its shakes.

Nik fiddles with his finger nervously as he can tell that they are being watched from all direction.

Nico has a shaky breathing once he got some eye contact with few upperclassmen.

Brin clenches his teeth and hand to stop them from shaking due to being too excited.

Grace visibly shaking as she uses Eliza like an armrest.

Eliza legs almost gave out on her since Grace is pressing down on her.

Ash sat on the floor prior to the bloodlust air. It hides the fact her leg gave out now.

Lily sat down next to Ash as she holds her arm a bit, scared.

As the old man wizard explain the rules and other stuff. Somewhere else there is a group of cloak figures gathers around talking out in the opening.

"Heh, these kids think this will help them?"

"It doesn't look all that fun."

"But once they start fighting it would be fun to watch"

"It's great that we get a free show to watch"

"I heard there is two group of first years kids in this stage!"

"First time hearing you so excited about these kids."

"Yeah, it happens nearly every year. What so special about these two groups?"

"Well I heard these two groups possess some rare magic or high affinity to magic"

"So they use this to their advantage and just power through their enemy?"

"No no, I heard that they use strategies and tactics to beat their enemy."

"So what? A lot of groups are like that."

"It's the first time hearing a whole group of powerhouse using their brain first"

"I have no desire to look into these two group. I also do know that the other 6 people here do not care."

"Fine, I might take them under my wing after they graduate this strange place."

"Go ahead, they are all yours."

"Hmmph"

The person storms off mutter to itself. It sounds like the person is casting a curse or something.

"Good thing that person doesn't know how to use a curse."

They laugh a bit before they all start walking somewhere else.

Back to the courtyard

Dex starts walking off as the other was busy discussing their action plans. Dex is feeling a lot of emotion at the moment. Dex is feeling excited, worried, and tired. He wants to be by himself to relax and collect his thought on all this. Dex didn't go that far away but far enough to be considered alone from everyone else. Dex sat down under a tree. As time goes by, dex feels more relaxed than before. He took a nice nap which helps his anxious mind and body from everything else.

"Well I hope you have a nice nap there, little first year." a female voice just said on his left side. Dex turns his whole body to face the speaker. The sun was within his eyesight which makes it hard to see the person who is talking to him

"Well I did have such nice nap time before I woke up some moment before." dex replied with some slight sass to it for fun.

"Well, mister sassy first year. I'm here to extend a helping hand to you" the woman said with a slight anger to your voice. As dex adjusted to the light, he notices this girl was a senior by the different uniform she is wearing. He then notices she have a vest with the school logo in gold linen with a silver outline on the left side. He also notices on the right side it have runes on it. It took a while before dex relies on it spell out "President"
in rune form. Dex couldn't remember the president name since he doesn't care about the council much. From where he is sitting, she is roughly around 5'7 with dirty blondish hair down to her waist with a strange hairstyle with the side of her hair are up like horns.

"Oh sorry for my rudeness president." dex nods his head to her.

She laughs at that covering her mouth with her left hand. "Oh, it's fine the first year. At least you aren't like the other first-year who freeze up in front of me."

"I don't blame them..." Dex said it softly.

"Oh? What did you say?" she said it very threatening as she smiles.

"Nothing! ..." dex worries and other things rush back into his system.

She burst out in laughter, "Oh this is soooo fun!" she proceeds to laugh some more while having one of her hand on her gut. Once she finishing laughing, she coughs a bit to get her composer back before speaking again.

"Anyway, I'm here to help you use your 'light' magic more aggressively. We read on a report of your file, you are the kind of successor I need even if I'll be gone next year."

Dex thought about what she said, "hmmm if I take her offer I could be more useful than just the healing guy. Not many 'light' user offer help to me that isn't the teacher. plus I am getting help from the school president too. This is a good offer she is giving me. But maybe I should dig deeper to see what is the catch...yeah I could ask"

Dex gave her a face of 'what's the catch?'

She coughed a bit. "well the catch is that you work for the school government as a secretary till our real one come back to school from her trip."

"How long till your real secretary come back from her trip?" Dex ask out of curiosity

"Close to the end of this school year. She is being sent out to Treplet with some other students as exchange students. I wouldn't suggest sending her to Treplet but the head sends her before I send out my complaint to them. I hate this school sometime" she said with venomous tone before she sighs

"So what would I be doing as a secretary?" dex asked

"well, you will have to manage our time to places. set up a meeting for the clubs or anything that want to talk to us about important things. Bring us food and drink when we are working. manage the paperwork that didn't process through me or the vice. lastly, you could fight with us in a yearly match with another student body from different kingdom to save or gain 'face' and reputation. that is all beside listening to us but we are in a higher gear then you so it's a given. if you work very well, I could put in a good word for you to help boost your chance to elect to be the school president or any seat in the council for next year." the women said as she didn't break eye contact with him.

"Hmmm. alright I'll take your offer but who will train me with my dark magic?" dex ask a bit concern that his magic would be to unbalance with one another.

"Don't worry about that, I can get someone to help you train for that magic too," she answered.

"Alright, I'll take up your offer ms. president." Dex said as he bows his head.

"That is good. You'll start three days after the battle royal ended. Also, my name is Mario. I'm fine if you call me Mar." mar said with her hand out for him. Dex take her hand

"You already know my name but I'm Desis. It is nice to meet you Mar." dex said nicely

"Go back to your team. The first match is about to start." mar said pointing to the crowd of people going to see the first match. Dex nod at that, then he bowed slightly before rushing off to see the others.

"Hmmm, good kid. Easy to mold for my own idea of policies or ideas to pass on." Mar walk off without muttering another word.

The first match already started, it was the girls team that gone up first, facing off a team of 5. So far it look like the girls are in control of the match.

On the platform, Grace and eliza is standing there with their weapon out. As grace fire some arrow at them to be distracted as eliza rush in whacking some fool as they weren't looking at her. Eliza mace swing by with a heavy THUMP right at the side of his head, the guy knocked out without any trouble. The next guy shot right at the center of his chest having him stagger back before eliza shoulder bash into him off the stage. as the people cheer for them, Eliza went to radio and bend down to hold her knee as she breath heavily.

"Luckily they underestimated us. But that won't happen to the next folks that went on that field." grace said as she rest his hand on Eliza shoulder. She nod her head too tired say anything.

As the crowd cheer for them, dex join in. "eliza is stronger than i thought."

"Where have you been dex?" brin ask with slight anger

"Relaxing." dex answer not wanting to tell them about the rest

Brin sighed. "Of course you were."

"So what did i miss?" dex ask to nik

"Well the match started and you miss some taunting and insulting from grace to hurt any guy feeling." nik said as he laugh

"Of course she did. How is eliza though?" dex ask as he point to eliza.

"She is doing fine, long time we saw her fight and it look like she ain't use to be in the front line yet. Although she is getting there." nik turn around to look at those two who is taking a breather.

"Our team is last correct?" dex ask as he cross his arm.

"Yup. and i have a feeling the second match will be our last." nik said it low enough for dex to hear.

"Don't worry about that nik." dex said cheerfully. "If it does happen lets just take as many as we can with us." dex smiled as he chuckled

"Though the first match would be any easier for us just caused everyone will be watching this match. Since those two already beat 2 out of 5 so we won't be a pushover too much." nik added in after watching the next two getting on the platform. Two female walk up holding a greatsword and a another one a staff.

"Well, that is a very bothersome pair they have their. The longer you fight a group with a mage, the more bothersome and dangerous they get right? nik asked

"correct but wrong at the same time. longer the battle, the weaker the magic get but usually in the final minutes of a match either most of your team is enjoyed by the mage or knocked out. Also, there is usually a ton more mage in a grand battle, they could switch out and recover their many." dex explain to him. nik nod then they watch the battle to about to begin in silent.

Grace standing there, behind eliza. Eliza still breathing staggering as she eye on the defender. Grace nock an arrow to her bow as she eying on the mage. It was a silent acknowledgement that grace will focus on the mage and eliza will keep the defender busy. As the elder raise his arm up in the air, eliza tensed up a bit eagering to rush in as grace tempted to pull the bow string back but waited till the match started. The moment the elder start bringing his hand down, the mage silently started chanting and grace drawback her bow with her arrow tip hums a faint green light. Once the elder hand reach his waist, the arena hums softly as the mage summons a twin swirling fireball towards grace. Grace release the bowstring, they arrow zip through the air towards the twin fireball. The moment arrow is within 5ft away from the fireball, the arrow quickly caught on fire and lost its velocity and it fell down hitting the floor. As the twin fireball flew over the arrow, the arrow exploded disrupting the fire form making it two fireball flew elsewhere, splitting apart. Grace nock another arrow and run around as fireball is flying towards her. Eliza is having some trouble with the defender, she swung her sword around with ease like the weight of it is like a broadsword. as the big lump of metal swing around, eliza couldn't block any attack as it will destroy her mace without any effort. as the great sword is getting harder to dodge as she pushing eliza back to a corner. as for grace whom is having a hard time shooting at the mage as she keep forcing grace to run without time to take aim towards her. Grace toss a knife towards the mage, she deflect it with her staff but that was enough time for grace nock an arrow on her bow to release at her staff, knocking it off her hand. Mage can still cast a fireball but not as fast as she use to be. Grace took advantage on that and disrupt her chanting with her arrow. It was a stalemate between them two as they both defend any heavy damage attack that come towards them. Eliza still having a hard time dealing with the defender but slowly she is tiring out her opponent to some extent to easily dodge the attack without any trouble of the speed. Eliza took the opportunity of her tired opponent and start manipulating the plants near the arena platform. The plants slither into the platform and start wrapping around the defender legs up the colar bone.it tighten itself up making it near impossible for the tired defender to break free without cutting herself loss. After one is incapacitated, eliza start helping grace by charging to the mage as she was distracted by grace arrows. Mage didn't notice eliza coming towards her till the last moment. when she did notice, she casta fireball into eliza chest but right after her mace connect to her side knocking the air out of her. Eliza flew back from the fireball hit, it winded her badly making it hard to breath and also hard to move. Grace took an arrow off the ground and fire between her her chest making her stagger back and fall out of the platform. Due to both people being incapacitated, it was the victory for the girls. The crowd cheer for them as there team help carry them off the platform with nik, and dex help.

"You did good you two." dex said as he help grace walk off the platform

"Thanks, dex...good luck on your match." grace tiredly said

they carry them to the medical tent with their opponent team. their team stay beside them as nik and dex walk back to the arena.

"nik. i'm shaking right now." dex said that as he looking forward, smiling.

"dex. i'm shaking too." nik respond back as he let out a smile as nico and brin wave them to join them to watch the other round. Who's also smiling as they to have the same feeling after watching the girls fight and struggle in their match
