Mid Morning with cool breeze
"Oh gosh this is so strange." Eliza thought as she walk to her first class with dex on her left and grace on her right. Eliza look at both of them, she notice theirs a small scar on dex cheek. Its un-noticeable from a far but up close you can see it clearly. As she turn her to grace, she is just holding back of her head as she walking forwards. "Maybe i should say something to get rid of this silence." Eliza thought, "what you guys think our class be like." Eliza said joyfully.
"Its going to be boring." Dex said as he yawn
"I only taking this class cause you guys keep on telling me to do it." Grace said than turn her head towards dex.
"Why you taking this class?." Grace ask
"Brin told me to take this class just to polish my skills with new stuff." Dex answered.
"This is our class here." Eliza said as she open the dooor for them.
"Ladies first." Eliza said
"Why thank you." Dex said as he enter to a small corridor with a door each side.
"If i remember. The left door is advance, and the right side is for beginner." Grace said as she walk to the right side door. Dex and eliza walk beside her as she open to door, they were welcome with the smell of old paper and lemons.
"Honestly this old paper smell is decent." Dex said as he walk in.
"Choose any free seat." The teacher said. Dex, aliza and grace sits in the left row, theirs three rows: left side, middle and right side. Theirs four long table in each row going up. Four through five seats each table. Theirs another person sitting next to dex near the window with a hood on. "Hey my name is dex." Dex said as he put his hand out at that person. But that person just pay no attention to dex, dex just shrug it off than he pat attention to the teacher un the front. The teacher is a old chick wearing a orange dotted shirt and a black shorts. Her hair is those typical old lady hairdo.
"Hello class, my name is mrs. Herva. Im going to be your strategy teacher for this year." She said with a smile. "Now than lets get class started. Also the class book should be under your seat."
Some hours later
"And so, this is how shieldwall was first created and used. Any question?" Mrs. Herva ask as she close the book. She spotted dex head down sleeping.
"Ahem. Mr. Dex please wake up and explain to me what is a shieldwall and how its use." Mrs. Herva said as dex slowly waking up and standing up with his hands behind his head.
"Shieldwall is a platoon or a group stance that which puts their shield tightly together to form a wall of some sort, which used against infantry charges and also calvary charge. But its more effective against infantry since horses charging is more dangerous than a human charge. Some kingdom shieldwalls have certain size gap between them to let the solider to stab them with a shortsword or a short spear. Also it great with any magical attack that ain't ment for  piercing things, and it slow down their movement too. And thats all." Dex explain without having his book out and open infront of him. Some people clap when he finish explaining.
"Thank you for that in depth explanation about shieldwalls." Mrs. Herva said than she open up her book to look for something. "People that is seating at each end of the table, the person next to you are your partner for a project we going to do." Grace and eliza fist pump as they were partner, and dex try to be nice to the other person who obviously annoying him. But as dex put down his hand, that person slide a notebook over to him saying  "Im zero." Dex stares at it than said. "Can you talk or something?" That person pull the notebook back to write in it than slide it back saying. "Your too stupid for my voice." Dex read it than laugh which caught the other person off guard. "Ok i get it." Dex said as he stop laughing. "Ok since you guys are done talking to one another, let me a explain about this project of yours. Were going to play a short war game were one of you are the strategist and other is the commander thats following the order. So take a day trying to figure out who is who. Also im having some upperclassmen to be in your team as soldiers when we start the wargame." Mrs. Herva explained. Zero pass the notebook saying "your going be the strategist."
"Sure why not. But pretty sure you dont like listen to my stupid voice that is giving order to you." Dex said with a smirk. Dex see zero hand moves to his/her face like a facepalm. "Can you atleast tell me your gender?" Dex ask, than zero flip him off. "Ehh either way if you want me, i will under of a tree or something if my captain dont give me a order or something to do." Dex said as mrs herva dismissed everyone. Dex gets up and walk out before eliza and grace. As dex walk out of the class, he was greeted by nik. "Hey nik what ya want?" Dex ask as he walk beside with nik. "I want you to fight this guy who challenge me to a duel. I would fight him but brin order us to hide our strength till the royal. But since nearly everybody know how strong you are so brin didnt give this order." Nik said to dex.
"Nik you are the honorable person, so asking me this must hurt your pride right now isn't it?" Dex said as he look at nik in the corner of his eye.
"Yes it does hurt my pride to ask you this." Nik said sadly.
"Go fight him, i will take the blame for ya." Dex slap nik back.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah dont worry i got ya back." Dex said with a thumbs up
"I dont trust you dex."
"Yeah you shouldn't." Dex laugh after saying this
"Lets ask brin instead of me." Dex said as he rest his arm on nik shoulder.
As nik and dex walk towards brin class, they can hear a lot of clashing of wood together.
The class brin is attending was general sword training.
Dex open the door and see a big practice ring in the middle with brin fighting two other guys.
"Yo brin hurry up! Nik have a question for ya about a duel he's in." Dex said loudly
"Go right ahead nik. Just don't go all out or fall to the ground for a second." Brin said as he kick one off the ring and ram the butt of the practice sword at the other dude gut.
"thank you brin, its tomorrow if you want too see it." Nik nod his head and walk away
"He ask you to fight for him didnt he?" Brin ask than he gets off the ring.
"Yup he did, and i would happily agree to fight for him if i didnt ask him to talk to you first." Dex said as he hand brin a towel. "Your footing was off by a centimeter and your left arm is guarding to low." Dex told him
"No wonder why it took me long time to block the left hook and loose my footing barely. Sword fight is easier than martial arts." Bring wipe his face with a towel when he said this to brin.
"Im going to my tree now till its eating time." Dex walk out when he said this
"Of course you will." Brin sigh

Some Time Later
Dex is resting under a large tree on a hill near the forest that's also give a great view over the courtyard and such. The sun is now close to high noon with clouds drifting through the air in one big lump. As dex lays their with no care in the world. A cloak figure lurking in the forest staring at dex as he is resting, thinking what to do. A minute has pass before the cloak sneaks towards dex with a curve dagger ready in its hand. Once he reach to dex, their was a surprise gift when a ball of light appear in front of him exploding in its face, damaging him and also blind him temporary. Dex quickly gets up on his feets than yell. "Hah you can't hit me in the head Brin!" Dex point at the cloak person for a moment, than relies it's wasn't Brin. "Oh I'm so sorry that you fell into my trap! It's was meant for a friend of mine who always hit my head when i am resting under a tree." Dex apologies to it. "No it's fine kid, it's mostly my fault that i came up to you." He said as he rub his eyes.
"Hey mister, why you have a curve knife in your hand?" Dex ask
"Oh this? I was just collecting herbs and such in the forest for potion and what not." He Lied.
"So the cloak and such is for protecting you from any creature that might stray towards you while your back is expose?" Said dex
"Ah yes yes you're very correct. These cloak hides my presence from any creatures and also blinds pretty well in the forest." He grab his cloak and let dex examined it.
"Hey mister? Do you have any tip on light magic?" Dex ask with his head tilt sideways
"Need help hmmm let me think. High noon is when light magic healing is it's strongest." He said as he point up.
"Hah easy kill for me! This guy is a light mage. When he look up I'm going have to disposed of him. Too bad i have to kill him, he is pretty bright kid." He thought as he notice dex look up. Than he quickly slice through the air to cut dex throat. But as he was swinging, a large amount of shadowy tentacles appear out of his shadow wrapping him up and tightening its grip.
"Man that was a close one. Mister try make your story more believable when you going try kill someone. The only strong animal that live in the forest is in the far north in the deep dark zone. Even a teacher aren't allowed their." Dex said than calmly place his hand on his wrist than he brake it.
"Wha..what are you kid?!" He ask as he holding back the pain.
"Oh little o me? Im just a kid that have light and dark magic orb thingies in him." Dex smiled as he said that, than he place his hand on his forehead. When his hand touch his forehead, a large amount of light starts to gather up. Its still consider high noon so dex attack would be boosted by a lot. A large burst of explosion came out of dex hand, and also make a pretty yellow dust cloud. The explosion rings throughout the academy and forest. In seconds teachers, staff and academy guards flocks towards dex location.

As they reach their, the guy is on his knees, mouth open, and his eyes are white. He only spoke a sentence or two before he is truly knock out. "Thi--iis boy . . . Is a . . De-mon." Dex left eye have a smokey black mark for a moment before disappearing.
"Kid what happen here?" One of the female teacher ask
"This man came out of the forest to kill me. Luckily i set a trap up to blind him and explode in his face, it was meant for my team captain by the way. I distract him by talking a whole bunch. He attempt to try kill me as i look up in the sky. I bind him down with my magic before i blast him with a light blast." Dex summarized what happen
"Ok i understand now on what happen here." Another teacher said
"Your pretty skilled youngster." The oldman said when he just floats down.
"Maybe you should go to the palace to get a reward just because you defeated a pretty strong 'Demon' in a short time." Said the old man as he twirl his beard.
"Ehhh. Compare to my teammates, they could defeat him quicker than i did." Said dex
"Ah ha ha ha ha! I never seen your teammates fight before, so i can't judge them on how strong they are." Old man is still laughing when he said that.
"Nik is having a duel tomorrow with some guy. Oh and plus brin order us to don't fight till the battle royal thing." Dex said
"Your leader is pretty smart on ordering you guys to hide your power. And i might catch that fight you mention to see if he is strong as you said." Old man finish talking and teleport away with the knock out dude.
"Since this is all over, you can go back to your dorm to rest after this attack. And tell me how you learn a lot of magic already when you are just started?" A teacher asked
"Both of my parents are battle mage so i read a lot of magic book on trying to found out how to duplicate a banana." Dex said. The teachers laugh at that than they say theirs goodbyes before leaving. Dex started to walk towards to his dorm. as he's going back, dex hold his left arm in pain a bit before he lets go. Once he got back, theirs a group of people staring at me for a moment than left quickly. Dex see brin, nico, nik, grace, elisa, lil, ash. And zero? Dex look confused as he walks towards them.
"Yo everyone." Dex said as he lift his right hand
"How ya felling?" Nico ask
"Like shit." Dex respond back
"What happen over their?" Brin ask
"Some guy try to kill me, so i attack back." Dex respond
"I saw you holding your left arm, are you ok?" Nik ask
"Yeah, my body ain't use to me using magic yet." Dex respond as he move his left arm up and down.
"Ok good your ok. I mean do you want something to drink or something?" Elisa said staggering
"I am quite thirsty, so a glass of water is nice." Dex respond
"How long did you fight?" Ash ask
"Around like 12 minutes." Dex respond
"Hah i could have beat the attacker faster than that." Grace jokingly said
"Now than, why is he in our little group of friends?" Dex ask, pointing at zero
"Oh he's fun to talk too." Brin respond
"He doesn't even talk." Dex said.
"Yeah, he's just like you but less talkative." Brin said with a smirk.
"Yeah whatever. I wont come up with any tactics or what ever till i know who were fighting zero." Dex said when he points at him.
He shrug. Zero was 5'5, he wears a hood that completely hide his face in the dark. He is pretty skinny.
"Im going take a nap, I'm getting to tired right now." Dex close his eyes than start rubbing both of his eyes with his index finger and thumb.
"Yeah go right ahead dex. You seem pretty drained right now. Nik can you help dex to the room and the magic he must used really drained him dry." Brin said and nik nod than he support dex to walk.
"Is dex really ok?" Grace ask.
"Yeah it's wasn't the first time it happen," Nico respond looking at dex. "I just feel sorry for dex sometime."
"What you mean?" Elisa ask
"Dex magic is unusual, thats what dex parents told us. But mostly it seems like his magic drain more mana than normal mage." Nico explained
"Is it that why dex tend to use martial arts and weapons instead of magic." Grace ask
"Yup." Nico respond
"Lets just go our separate ways for today than lets train together tomorrow or something." Brin suggest. They all agree than they all walk separate away.
