Chapter 5
As we neared the room in which the boss uses as a lair, Sinon spoke up. "So you were in SAO?" I gave a soft nod. "I'm sorry to hear that." She spoke softly. I shook my head. "Don't be. If I had a choice to go back and change things, I wouldn't. Because then I wouldn't have met Kirito, or Miss Asuna." "But it was a death game. Sword " "Don't say the name." Kirito warned Sinon. I had already started to shut down, my chest starting to tighten. "He's traumatized by the name. Use SAO or the Death Game instead." Asuna spoke. Sinon gave a nod. "I'm sorry if I triggered something." I shook my head softly. "I-it's fine." I told her, starting to calm down. Something about her made it easier to do so. "Anyways, we're nearly there. Sword, can you make sure no one goes down? We'll need to save every bit of mana we can." Kirito informed me. I gave another soft nod. "You should know I'm good at things like that." Asuna giggled. Sinon seemed a little confused by this little chat, so I told her of my profession in SAO as a mercenary for hire. "I see. You must have a lot of friends then." I shook my head. "No, actually. I didn't bond with many of my clients. They just wanted me to get things for them, or save someone. There wasn't much to discuss with them." I told her. She gave a soft nod. "I see. Well, at least you did find some friends." I shrugged. "I was only passing by when I met Kirito and Asuna. Turns out, me and Kirito both played the beta of SAO. He became the black swordsman. Me? Well, I became known as Sword the Merc."
