Chapter 35: A King & Queen in the North!

=========================

The War for the Iron Thorne is over, A Targaryen once again sits comfortable on the Throne that Aegon Targaryen built using the swords of his enemies, that was a celebration short lived though because now they have to travel North, Kenway has said about using Winterfell for their stronghold against the Night King, it makes sense, he's 2-0 for defending that castle now, one of them he was attacking but it still counts.

So he's riding on the back of his horse, Shah with Aemon in front of him, wrapped up warm and looking around to the snow covered wilderness, he's never seen snow before so he's a little excited, he wasn't noticing all the eyes on him, his father and his mother, the Black Wolf, went south to recruit an ally, then he comes back after taking King's Landing and with a near 5 year old on his horse, his silver eyes and a Targaryen's pure white hair.

Kenway too was over excited to see his son happy, so much so that he missed seeing Arya standing in the crowd of people watching as the Unsullied and other near 100,000 Northman marched past them and towards Winterfell, Arya was over joyed at seeing her brother again, Jon ridding behind him was even better, although she never expected to see him with a child, that part surprised her and will defiantly give Sansa something to over react about.

Meanwhile a few ways behind the now Queen and King Consort, Tyrion and Varys sat in a small carriage, it's nothing too special but they didn't really have an option, it was either that or walking, neither are really built for horse riding.

Tyrion: You should consider yourself lucky. At least your balls won't freeze off.

Tyrion made the joke while looking across him to see Varys wrapped up in coats but still shivering to the chill of the north, they were warned by Kenway but only a few really took his words seriously, Varys wasn't one of them clearly.

Varys: You take great offence at dwarf jokes, but love telling eunuch jokes. Why is that?

Varys didn't seem all to happy about the comment, it could be honest offence or it could be just a bad reaction from how cold the man is right now, at least there nearly at Winterfell now so he can sit in front of a warm fire.

Tyrion: Because I have balls, and you don't.

Tyrion smiled while Varys looked honestly tired of them Imp's comments, it's been a long journey, their all tired of each other, Aemon still sitting on the back of Shah looked around to all the people just staring at them, he didn't know what to do with this except turn around and hug into Kenway's torso hiding his face, Kenway chuckled to him before rubbing the back of the boys head, he then turned to see Deanerys staring back as the North civilians looked to the men and women born of Essos.

Kenway: I warned you. The last time they saw a Targaryen he killed my grandfather and Uncle. You need to show them your different.

Deanerys looked to him just as her dragon flow above, catching the attention of the North, they started to panic thinking they were under attack, it was understandable, they haven't seen a dragon, never in their lives.

Daenerys: I will.

She smirked to her son and husband while Kenway still seemed to get acknowledgement from the north, they would bow they're heads slightly, they really do have a lot of love and faith in him and why wouldn't they, he won a seemingly winless battle twice for Winterfell and now he's gonna do it again.

They however didn't treat Jamie Lannister as such, spitting at the Lions feet when he'd walk behind the North and Easterners, the last of the Lannister men marching with him, Kenway looked back and saw this, as much as he deserves that treatment, Kenway can't let it go any further, he is now technically an ally and they need as many of them as they possibly can.

Daenerys: You really trust him?

Kenway looked from Jamie back to Daenerys as she too was looking back then turned to him, Kenway wasn't actually too sure but he does know one thing, as wrong as it might be, he is fighting for the chance to see his sister again.

Kenway: No. But he's fighting for Love, I know how dangerous men can be with that as their motive.

Kenway gave her a small confident grin, you can never trust a Lannister but you can trust a man's motives, that's what Kenway is going off of, nothing more then the desire to see the women he loves again, Kenway only believes that because he'd do the same thing for the women and child with him now.

Moments later, Kenway, Daenerys and Aemon, trotted into the gates of Winterfell, Kenway's so happy to be back and the smile on his face can't have been hidden, although that smile turned to pure shock when he saw Bran sitting there in his new chair with Sansa, Rickon and Lord Baelish nearby.

Kenway hopped off his horse before it even stopped and helped Aemon down, Sansa looked actually quiet annoyed by the young Prince, apparently Kenway went back on his word and bedded a Targaryen, she can tell by the boy's grey eyes, he's a Stark child, no matter his last name.

Kenway: Bran. How are you little wolf? You've grown.

Sansa watched as Kenway knelt in front of his little brothers, Rickon already having hugged him while Bran just seemed to stare through him, Bran didn't even smile, just looked while Daenerys stood with Aemon in front of her, her hands resting on the 5 year olds shoulders and Jorah Mormont standing beside her.

Bran: Almost.

Kenway could see that he's changed and the look Bran was giving him was a little unsettling but Kenway shrugged it off, standing and hugging his sister Sansa who did in fact look past him and to his wife and son, Jon walked over, giving his younger brothers the same treatment as the King in the North, Kenway broke the hug and saw where she was looking, he sighed knowing that it would cause a little drama, Sansa doesn't exactly trust people all that much these days.

Jon: Where's Arya?

Kenway looked around and actually only just noticed that she wasn't here, Sansa however answered while still not looking away from the Targaryen's behind him, it was getting a little annoying to be honest.

Kenway: Don't make this a big deal.

Sansa sighed to him while Jon stepped aside for a second, Kenway turned to Daenerys and Aemon, then nodded for them to join him, Daenerys gently pushed her son's back forward giving him the all clear to run to his father, Kenway happily scooped the boy up while Daenerys seemed actually nervous walking to join them.

Kenway: Queen Daenerys of House Targaryen. My sister, Sansa Stark, the Lady of Winterfell.

Daenerys still needs time to get used to hearing the whole Queen thing but it'll sink in pretty quickly, Kenway still held Aemon in his arms while Daenerys and Sansa stood in front of each other, the lords and lady's of the North watching the scene as Aemon just tried to hide his face from the large crowed.

Daenerys: Thank you for inviting us into your home, Lady Stark. The North is as beautiful as your brother claimed, as are you.

Kenway chuckled once while looking around, this is where he expected this to crumble, Sansa was more then vocal about him going South to see her, now he's returned with all the Dragon Glass they need and a child, in Kenway's defence, he didn't know about the latter till he got there.

Sansa perched her lips while looking Daenerys up and down slightly, she then glanced at Kenway forcing her bother to gave her that look, the look he gives people when he's telling them not to fuck this up, so, clearly against her own conscience, she replied in the proper way.

Sansa: Winterfell is yours, Your Grace.

Kenway sighed while looking around he really didn't need this part of the task to go this way, you couldn't even cut this tension with a knife, so while Kenway put Aemon back to his feet, because he's getting heavy, the boys 5 now and putting on the pounds, Bran spoke up.

Bran: We don't have time for all this.

Daenerys looked to Bran in his chair while Rickon stood between Sansa and Bran, Rickon didn't seem all that bothered to meet Dani, Bran however felt like this needed to get a move on, Kenway though was more interested in what Peter Baelish is doing here.

Bran: The Night King is coming. The Wall has fallen, the dead march south.

Kenway's attention went away from the Lord and back to Bran, he was hoping they'd have more time, but apparently, they don't, now Kenway needs to think fast, it'll only take a few weeks for them to get here, so they called for everyone who needs to be in the Great Hall there for a meeting, Kenway sitting front and centre, Daenerys to his left she's however standing by the fire behind them, turns out the North is too cold for the Queen with fire in her veins, Tyrion on the far left, Sansa on his right, with Jon at the far end, Duncan and Elis standing off to the sides as they got to the matter at hand.

Sansa: As soon as we heard about the Wall, I called all our banners to retreat to Winterfell. Lord Umber...

Kenway was leaning on his right hand thinking about all this, the end running through his mind, Aemon is away with Rickon, Kenway didn't want them to be a part of this, plus Rickon seemed to love being an Uncle, Kenway didn't however miss the young Ned Umber pock his head out from behind much bigger Northman.

Sansa: When can we expect your people to arrive?

The young 11 Year old stood from his bench and approached them, Kenway glanced over to him while sitting up straight, he seems to have taking to the role of Lord pretty well, although Kenway hasn't really hear much, his castles still standing so that's something.

Ned: We need more horses and wagons, if it please my Lady...

Kenway watched with a small smile as Ned then turned to him seeming to have forgotten about him, though the small lad acknowledge him with the title he won't have for much longer.

Ned: ... And, Your Grace...

Kenway smiled again before this kid went above and beyond, no one has acknowledged Daenerys as the Queen of Westeros yet but he did, much to everyone's surprise around them room.

Ned: ... And, my Queen.

The news about them having wed didn't take long for it to spread around, you tell one person and they tell two, or someone will hear then tell others, either way, everyone in this room knows about the Black Wolf marrying the Dragon and that the young Dragon is in fact his child, although none have dared call him a Bastard, because he's not.

Ned: Sorry.

Kenway really liked this kid, he doesn't need to try so hard, it's okay to make mistakes, sure a few months ago, Kenway was a little Iron Fisted but now that he has Daenerys and Aemon again in his life, he's become more lenient.

Kenway: Relax. You'll have as many as we can spare. Bring them here as fast as possible, the sooner people are safe the sooner we can put an end to all this.

Daenerys smiled a little to the young Umber for acknowledging her before sitting back in her seat beside Kenway, she also smiled to him for how he handled that, it's not however over and she took his right hand in her left, Sansa scowled at the sight while Kenway took over the meeting.

Kenway: We need to send ravens to the Night's Watch as well. There's no point in defending a Wall that's no longer there. We'll fortify Winterfell, bring him to us and fight him on our own terms.

The Maester bowed to him once before leaving with a small message of "At once, Your Grace", Kenway is still technically King here, he'll hand the crown to whoever he feels is worthy of it once this is all over, before anything else could happen, Lady Mormont called out from her seat.

Lyanna: "Your Grace."

Kenway, Sansa, Jon, Daenerys, Tyrion, Bran and the others in the hall looked to the young Lady as she stood from her seat and stepped into the middle of the path still keeping her eyes locked onto the Black Wolf's.

Lyanna: But you're not. Are you? You left Winterfell a King and came back a...

Kenway admired Lyanna for her strength and courage as such a young child but this is where she needs to be careful of what she say's, anything against Daenerys or Aemon, especially Aemon, will bring trouble.

Lyanna: ... I'm not sure what you are now. A Lord? Nothing at all?

The hall was filled with a few murmurs of agreement, apparently they all felt the same and waited for that one person to stand up to the Black Wolf, it's ironic that in a room filled with men, it was a young girl that spoke up.

Kenway: That's a fair question. I am still the King, I will be the King until I see the time as to hand the crown to my heir.

Kenway made Jon his heir, when this whole battle is over, Jon will sit in this chair, wear the crown as King in the North, Kenway stood from his seat and leant on the table looking around to the room.

Kenway: Do you think I'm a fool? Do you take me for a man who does not keep his words?

Kenway was a little annoyed at being questioned, he respected it but that didn't mean he has to like it, Lyanna sat back down while Kenway stood up right, no longer leaning on the table, Sansa looking past him to his wife and Queen, Daenerys however was just grinning up to the man she loves.

Kenway: I gave you my word, that the North will remain free. I have done that. For exchange of our help in taking the King's Landing, Queen Daenerys has agreed to leave the North as it's own.

Kenway indicated to Daenerys on his side while the Northman didn't know about that part of the agreement, Sansa still glanced between him and Daenerys still not sure how to feel about all this, Kenway however has kept his word on everything he has said to date.

Kenway: I have brought Dragon's to our aid, many more men willing to fight for all of you, Allies and Enemies...

Kenway glanced over to Jamie Lannister who's standing by the wall, Peter Baelish beside him, apparently, that's the only friend the Lannisters have in the North, although, Kenway want's to have a word with Peter.

Kenway: ... Anyone else that has an issue with the way I run my Kingdom?

Nothing else was said, a few murmurs around the room, apparently there was still a little left unsaid about a Stark marrying a Targaryen, Daenerys however felt a little awkward sitting there, what else can she do as Kenway just stood there and waited for someone to speak up, they didn't expect it to be Sansa.

Sansa: May I ask, how are we meant to feed the greatest army the world has ever seen? While I ensured out stores would last through winter, I didn't account for Dothraki, Unsullied and three full-grown dragons. What do dragons eat, anyway?

Kenway sighed resting his hands back onto the table, Jon didn't like what was happing between Kenway and Sansa, this situation is tearing them apart, he couldn't do anything though, Kenway's ask her to trust him, begged her too, apparently, everything he does she has a problem with.

Daenerys: Whatever they want.

Kenway looked over his left arm to after hearing Daenerys answer, he watched them both glance to each other sharing a look he really doesn't need right now, he has the Night King marching the Army of the Dead towards them, now his sister and wife aren't getting along.

Kenway: We're done here.

Kenway moved out from his spot and walked down the hall, Midnight following him as the Northman watched him, his sword, Cold Breath on his side while he left the room he doesn't have time for this pointless squabbles right now.

Rickon: ... That's my father. Eddard Stark.

Kenway and Midnight walked down to the crypts, Kenway hasn't had the time to go down here since King Robert came here, he smiled though watching as Rickon introduced Aemon to all the Stark ancestors.

Aemon: What's he to me?

Aemon asked looking up to Eddard's statue, Kenway indicated for Midnight to hang back as he approached his little brother and son, this is his priority, making sure there's a world for them to grow up in afterwards, they can deal with food and other things after the win.

Kenway: He's you grandfather.

Aemon and Rickon turned to Kenway as Kenway walked towards him, he isn't wearing his cloak, only his Stark robes, Aemon looked happy to seeing his father while Rickon is just excited to seeing Kenway back home.

Kenway: I wish you could have met him. He was a good man, not enough of them these days.

Kenway knelt down to them both as they looked to him, Eddard looking down to the three generations of Starks, full blooded and half blooded, it was a nice moment but Kenway needed to be alone now so he gave them both pats on the back.

Kenway: Go on, get outta here. You start training soon.

Kenway hasn't told Daenerys that yet but he will teach Aemon how to use a bow on the off chance he'll need it, the plan is for of course, him not to but sometimes things don't always go to plan, Kenway's just being cautious, Daenerys will understand that.

Kenway: I know I've asked a lot from you already, but I need to again...

Kenway was alone, just him and his fathers statue in the dark barely lite crypts of Winterfell, he looked up and down to all his ancestors, none of them have had to face what he is about to, what more can he do here.

Kenway: ... I don't know what to do now.

Kenway wasn't sure how to handle this now, he's got the army, the destiny, the wife, the son everything the prophecy has said but one thing it doesn't say is how he should handle the actually battle, that's why he's here, asking for his father's guidance.

Peter: Your Grace...

Kenway sighed while hearing Peter Baelish walking towards him, he's the last person that he wants to see right now, all he did hear was his foot steps walking towards him while kneeling on the dirt trying to be alone.

Kenway: Your not supposed to be down here.

Peter continued to walk towards him with that stupid smirk on his face, Kenway turned towards him, seeing that smirk has really bothered him, he knows what Peter has been trying, he did the same thing to his mother that he's doing to Sansa.

Peter: Apologies, Your Grace. I just wanted...

Kenway stood up from the spot he was at and turned to Peter, Midnight was still beyond him waiting at the entrance, that just gave Kenway and idea because he doesn't need Peter anymore, never did anyway.

Kenway: I know exactly what you want.

Peter stopped what he was saying and stood there looking like he has no idea what Kenway is talking about but he knows, he knows this man wants nothing but power, he doesn't care who he destroys to get it.

Kenway: You are a man driven by power, for years you manipulated my family, drove them apart and for what? You still have nothing.

When Kenway said that he walked towards Peter, he needed to speak to him anyway so why not get this over with now, they are here alone meaning no one will tell him not to do it, Peter however looked like he knew nothing of what Kenway was talking about.

Peter: Respectfully, Your Grace. I know nothing of...

Kenway shut him up by grabbing his outfit and slamming him against the wall, his mother's tomb just behind them, empty though from not having her body with them, Kenway held him there, a calm look on his face as Peter frantically grabbed at the young King.

Kenway: You think I don't see. You claim to have loved my mother. Where is she? You claim to now love my sister. And she's questioning everything I do. What was it, you two sitting on Winterfell for years, living happily ever after?

Peter still struggled against his un human like strength, but got nothing in return, Kenway know's how manipulative he can be, he did it for years with his mother, he won't let it happen to Sansa as well, he can't, he needs to keep them safe, so he pushed Peter onto the floor, laying in the dirt in front of his father.

Kenway: I never trusted you Little Finger but I never saw you as a threat, not until Sansa told me everything. How you pushed my aunt out of the trap door, as well as put your dirty mouth on her!

Kenway launched forward and clutched his robes again, Peter is now scared, Kenway is furious with him, just because he and Sansa aren't seeing eye to eye right now doesn't mean he's going to lose her and his home to this snake, he eventually calmed down though, gently brushing Peter's clothes to get out the wrinkles.

Kenway: You know, I used to think nothing was more dangerous then a pack of wolves, which is why the Lannisters wanted us Starks apart. I was wrong, there is one thing more dangerous the a pack of wolves...

Kenway had stood up and walked a little distance away from Peter Baelish, the former Lord of Coin for King Robert, panted in fear while Kenway turned back to him, a smile on his face, which is more worrying then when he's angry.

Kenway: ... A lone Wolf.

As soon as he said that Midnight growled from the other end of the tunnel, catching Little finger's attention, he watched as the pitch black wolf slowly made her way towards him, teeth on show, growling with little bits of drool falling from her jaw.

Peter: Your Grace. You must understand, I have no intention of hurting Sansa. I love...

Kenway whistled making Midnight jump at him, Kenway had heard enough and turned leaving the crypts, still not sure how to handle what's to come but the sound of Midnight tearing into Peter Baelish was like music to his ears, a smile on his face as he walked out the tunnel heading back into the Winterfell courtyard...
