Kiba, awoken in a daze. He clenched his head after his headache. Looking over to the other bed, he finds Y/N, eyes dull, staring at the Blue Rose Sword.

Kiba: Y/N--

Y/N: It's you...isn't...Eugeo...

Kiba stayed quiet before nodding slightly. Y/N begins to cry more as he grips the bed sheets.

Y/N: I failed...

Kiba: What do you mean?

Y/N: I remember everything...Alice...Sortiliena-sensei...Ronie...Tiese...Selka...

Kiba: Alice, huh? (cries softly) She's...

Y/N: She's waiting for us at the End Mountains...but...

Kiba: Yeah...the way we are now...we can't--

Y/N and Kiba: Ever return home to Norlangarth.

Y/N: It's kinda funny.

Kiba: Huh?

Y/N: Many years ago, we said we'd be best friends forever...and now here we are.

Kiba: (small smile) Yeah...here we are.

Rias: Norlangarth?

Sinon: The land where Kiba and Y/N hail from.

Asia: Kiba-san?

Asuna: Kiba is the reincarnation of Kirito's childhood friend, Eugeo.

Xenovia: And the original wielder of the Blue Rose Sword.

Sinon: Found in the End Mountains in the northern part of Norlangarth.

Akeno: If Norlangarth is on the other side then here...

Asuna: Is the Dark Territory. But, since Administrator and Vecta are now occupying Centoria, the Devils that lived with the humans in Centoria and the other kingdoms had moved here, establishing the Dark Territory as the Underworld of the Devils.

Sona: How much does Y/N know of his birthright?

Asuna: He may know most of it or perhaps everything. He may have already inherited the memories of his previous life.

Issei: Oh, when we were carrying Kiba to the same room as Y/N, he muttered another name.

Sinon: What did he say?

Issei: I think it was, Alice?

Asuna: Oh, that girl. I remember now.

Irina: You do? How long has it been since you've last been to Centoria?

Sinon: It's been many years now. I lost count after five-hundred years.

Issei: You've been old for that long!?

Rias: (slaps Issei's head) Issei, don't mention a woman's age!

Issei: S-Sorry.

Rias: Anyway, who is this Alice?

Asuna: I guess we should start at the beginning. Long ago, the four--

Asuna: I guess we should start at the beginning. Long ago, there were three children that lived in the small rural town of Rulid.

(A/N): This was the best photo I could find.

Asuna: It was the year 372 in the Human Empire. In this town were three small children. Their names were Alice, Eugeo, and Kirito. The two boys were simple woodcutters, aiming to cut down the giant tree that over looked the town. The Gigas Cedar. Alice was the oldest child of the chieftain of the town. 

Sinon: Everything was perfect for them. The three children lived in happiness. It wasn't until that day...

Issei: T-That day...?

Sinon: It was--

Y/N: The day Alice broke the Taboo Index.

Everyone looks to the voices and saw Y/N and Kiba were out of their beds.

Asia: Y/N, Kiba-san! You still need to rest!

Kiba: It's fine. Besides...

Y/N: It's best if it's told from someone's perspective from who were there.

Rias: You--

Kiba: Yeah...we remember everything.

Y/N: It started off...

Flashback

Kirito: Still...this lunch is so tasty, I wish we could've taken our time enjoying it. Why does the heat make it spoil so quickly?

Eugeo: What do you mean, why?

Kirito: During the winter we can leave salted meat outside and it'll keep for days. 

Eugeo: Sure, because it's cold during the winter.

Kirito: That's right. So if we keep it cold, our lunch will last longer, even at this time of year.

Eugeo: Are you going to use the forbidden weathering-altering arts to make it snow? An Integrity Knight from the Axiom Church would show up before you could blink and spirit away.

Kirito: ...Ice.

Eugeo: Hmm?

Kirito: We could keep our food cold enough if we had lost of ice.  And then we could enjoy these delicious lunches for as long as we want! That's it! Ice!

Issei: So, where did you guys go?

Kiba: To the End Mountains.

Issei: The End Mountains?

Y/N: It's better if we keep telling the story.

Issei: R-Right.

Y/N: Basically, we went to the End Mountains in search of ice, but little did we know, it was our biggest mistakes. 

Kiba: All because of the hero Bercouli, the founder of Rulid. Our home. We had laws that forbid us to play in the End Mountains, but it didn't count against us as we were searching for ice. And so we headed there.

Flashback Resume, July 21, 372

The three children, Alice, Eugeo, and Kirito were heading towards the End Mountains in search of ice in order to preserve their food in the summer.

Alice, the blonde haired girl that had her hair tied into a ponytail, was humming a tune as Kirito and Eugeo were carrying the basket to put ice in, annoyed. They stopped at the entrance of the cave. Alice grabs a flower out of her pocket.

Alice: System Call. Generate Luminous Element. Adhere!

The flower begins to glow a bright yellow light, allowing them to travel the dark corridor.

Nervously, the three children enter.

Eugeo: Hey, didn't you say that the icicles were hanging just inside the cave? 

Kirito: Did I say that?

Eugeo: You did!

Kirito only rubs the back of his head, giving his signature cheeky grin. They kept going in and it got colder. They were drawing near towards the cavern they were seeking.

They stopped when they heard a cracking sound.

Eugeo: (looks down) Ice...there's ice! There's ice here! I bet there's more up ahead!

They started to run in and they see a bright light. Running closer, they emerge out of it and were starstruck as they found the whole cavern full of ice.

Alice: This much ice should be enough to keep all the food in the village cold.

Kirito: Are you kidding? We could make it winter in the village for a while! (stops walking)

Eugeo: (bumps into Kirito) Hey, don't stop all of a sudden! 

Kirito: What is this?

Eugeo: Eh? (gasp)

Kirito: Just what...is this...?

Standing in front of them were the bones of a full dragon. It had been dead for awhile.

Eugeo: The bones of the white dragon?

Alice: Is it dead?

Kirito: (picks up bone) Hey. This is all scratched up. And the tip's been cut off cleanly. 

Alice: Was it fighting with something? But what living creature could kill a dragon?

Kirito: These are blade marks. This dragon was killed by a human. 

Eugeo: Eh?

Alice: B-But...even the hero Bercouli only managed to get away. (gasp) An Integrity Knight? Don't tell me that an Integrity Knight from the Axiom Church killed a white dragon, a protector of the realm of humanity.

Eugeo: I don't know. There might be really powerful knights in the Dark Territory, too. But if there are, then the forces of darkness could just cross over the End Mountains. What are you doing, Kirito?

Kirito was trying to lift up a blue sword. It had a rose in the middle of the guard and it was blue as the color of ice. It was the Blue Rose Sword.

Kirito: This is really heavy.

Alice: Could this possibly be...

Kirito: Yeah. What Bercouli supposedly tried to steal. It must be the Blue Rose Sword.

Kirito tries to lift the magnificent blade, but it was to heavy for him, causing him to drop the blade.

Kirito: No good. It's too heavy. Even Eugeo and I together couldn't carry it out. Looks like there are all kinds of treasure, too.

Alice: Yeah. But we can't just take them, can we? That would be like grave robbing.

Kirito: (picks up ice) But the white dragon won't mind if it's just some ice, right?

They picked enough ice and started to head back. But instead of heading the right way, they went down the path towards the Dark Territory.

Rias: And where we reside now is...

Kiba: The Dark Territory. Like I said, we made the wrong decision.

Resuming Memory

The three children kept running, as they had felt wind in the direction they were running to.

They came out and was met with a blood red sky, and a land of darkness. They were now in the Dark Territory. Where they were forbidden to cross over.

Kirito: This is...

Alice: ...The Dark Territory.

Eugeo: We can't go any farther.

They were startled as they heard the sounds of battle. There were two dragons in the air and sat upon them were knights. 

One of them was dressed in darkness, a knight from the forces of darkness. The other was wearing white, belonging to the Axiom Church. An Integrity Knight.

The Dark Knight had fallen to the ground as it was struck from the arrow from the Integrity Knight. It reached it's hand out towards Alice. Alice begins to walk to the Dark Knight, unaware of what she was doing.

Kirito watches her and warns her.

Kirito: No!

But it was too late. Alice trips and falls. The two boys go to catch her. The Dark Knight passes and Alice falls.

Eugeo: Alice!

Kirito: (gasp) 

They were frozen in shock. Alice opens her eyes and they widen. Three of her fingers had crossed the border.

They start to remember something from the Taboo Index.

"Taboo Index, Book One, Chapter Three, Verse Eleven. Thou shalt not cross the End Mountains that encircle the Human Empire."

Kirito: (runs over and picks her up) Alice!

Alice: I-I...

Eugeo: I-It's all right, Alice. It's not like you left the cave. Right? Isn't that right, Kirito? Kirito?

Kirito wasn't paying attention as he had turned around, noticing something. Eugeo turned around to see a white head had emerged out of a portal.

Eugeo: What's that?

White Head: Singular Unit detected. Tracing ID. Coordinates fixed. Report complete.

The white head disappears back in, leaving the three children concerned.

Eugeo: It's gone? What was that just now? 

Kirito: I don't know. Let's just head back!

The three children head back, running as to what happened. Scared, confused. That's what they were thinking. They didn't know what was going to happen next.

It was the next morning, and they continued as nothing happened. Eugeo and Kirito were still scared. To take their minds off of it, they resumed back to their calling, hacking away at the giant cedar tree.

The two were startled as a loud boom was heard. Looking above, a shadow was casted. It was dragon. The two boys knew what that meant and they took off running for their village. They didn't want to believe that Alice was going to be taken away for a simple mistake like that.

They made it into the village and found Alice among the crowd.

Eugeo: (whisper) Alice.

Alice: Kirito. Eugeo.

Kirito: Shh. Quiet. You'd better get away while you can.

Alice: Father!

Alice's father walks up to the Integrity Knight, unsure of what the problem was.

Gasfut: I serve as the village elder. My name is Zuberg.

Integrity Knight: I am the Axiom Church Integrity Knight overseeing northern Norlangarth, Deusolbert Synthesis Seven. For her crimes against the Taboo Index, the child of Gasfut Zuberg, Alice Zuberg, will now be apprehended, taken in, and, after questioning, executed.

The villagers were shocked, especially the three children.

Deusolbert: The charge is Taboo Index, Book One, Chapter Three, Verse Eleven, trespassing into the Dark Territory.

Alice had dropped the basket she was carrying and the lunches she had prepared for Eugeo and Kirito had fallen out, including the ice they collected yesterday.

Having no choice but to obey, Alice's father ties her up and wraps her in chains, which were attached to the dragon. Kirito begins to run forward with the dragonbone ax he had in his hand when cutting the cedar tree.

Kirito: Sir Knight! A-Alice never went into the Dark Territory! She just touched the ground with one hand for a second! That's all she did!

Deusolbert: What more do you think she had to do?

Kirito: Th-Then we're just as guilty as she is! We were there in that same place! If you're taking her, then take us, too!

However, their plead wasn't given and the knight continues to do what he was doing. Kirito then devises a plan.

Kirito: Eugeo...listen. I'm going to swing that ax at him. (tightens grip on ax) You grab Alice then and run!

Eugeo: (scared) K-Kirito...but that's...

Kirito: Who cares about taboos? Are you saying they're more important than Alice's life?

Eugeo was shaken in fear. Kirito makes his move and runs at the knight, preparing to swing the ax down on him. But from an incarnation blast, the knight sends Kirito back, knocking him down.

Eugeo: Kirito!

Deusolbert: Escort those two kids from the square.

Kirito: Dammit!

He tries to run, but is tackled to the ground by three men. He couldn't get up as he tries to fight.

Kirito: Eugeo, please! Go after her!

Eugeo was unsure and tries to walk forward, but something causes him to freeze. He grips his head in pain as he sees something in his right eye. "Code 871."

Kirito: Eugeo! At least get these guys off me! Then I'll...Eugeo!

The two helplessly watch as Alice is taken away. She turns to look at the boys and she gives them a reassuring smile.

Kirito finally knocks the men off of him and runs to stand next to Eugeo.

Kirito: Alice!

Flashback End

The people in the room, aside Asuna and Sinon, were shocked. Asia and Irina had tears running down their faces.

Y/N: There you go...that's how it began...

Kiba: Yeah...

Issei: Just like that!? All because of the Taboo Index!?

Kiba: The Taboo Index was the absolute law in the Human Empire, created by the Axiom Church.

Azazel: Axiom Church? If I recall...

Y/N: Part of the Taboo Index was modified into the Devil laws here.

Rias: And that's why we couldn't cross the border.

Kiba: ...I should have listened to you that day...if I hadn't hesitated... (eyes start to water) Alice would...

Y/N: It wasn't your fault...it was the Seal of the Right Eye. Besides, we were just naive brats back then. That's all. That's all...

Asia: Seal of the Right Eye?

Y/N: It's what prevented people from breaking the laws of the Taboo Index.

Kiba: Upon defying the seal, your right eye explodes.

Xenovia: And how would you know?

Kiba: ...A story for another time.

Issei: So where's Alice now?

Kiba: Probably in a small cabin near the End Mountains, waiting. 

Irina: Alice? Was her last name Zuberg?

Kiba and Y/N perk up. Did they hear that right?

Kiba: W-Where did y-you learn that?

Irina: Well, that's the Priestess of Light up in Heaven. (tilts head) Is that a problem?

With no time, both Y/N and Kiba take off through the doors, making their way to Heaven.

Kiba and Y/N were running through the different "floors" of Heaven. They were trying to be stopped by numerous Angels, but it didn't matter to them. They were trying to make it to the Sixth Heaven, where the Seraphs reside, but also the Priestess of Light's temple is.

They soon come across two giant golden doors. The familiar Integrity Knight symbol was brandished on it.

The two look at each other and nod. They placed both their hands and opened the door.

As soon as it opens, they hear heavy footsteps coming their way. The sounds of armored boots.

???: Michael, I thought I told you not to bother me.

When the figure steps into the light, her blue eyes widen. Her familiar golden, blonde hair flowed as she stood in shock. The familiar colors of blue and gold of her armor shined in the light.

Tears waiting to come out.

Y/N and Kiba: Alice.

Alice smiles and she wipes her tears away.

Alice: Welcome back you two. Kirito...Eugeo.
