Draco's POV
We stood outside, the clouds darkening as we waved them off. With a sigh, I turned to head back into the house, my mother following behind. "Draco! Draco, dear!" She called after me as I stormed into the house. "Dear!"
Spinning on my heel, I turned to face her. "What?" I snarled with more aggression than I expected.
She stopped chasing me, returning to her elegant posture. "Do you want to talk about her?" She asked causing my face to soften. Maybe this is what I needed, she was on my mind, wrapping herself around my life and squeezing.
My mother led me into the library, another painful reminder of the Olivia that had passed.
She had changed, it was painful to see her go through all this. Snape had warned me that she might become cold..but she hadn't. She'd become full of tears and regret and I feared for her. Her friends meant everything to her and now, well, now he wanted her to betray them, turn them all in. I worried about her.
The happy, smiling girl I allowed myself to fall for was gone, replaced by girl who was broken and shattered. Finally, she knew her story, her past, yet, all it had done was tear down the walls she built. Everything. I allowed her to tear down my walls and yet, I wasn't the one broken, it was her. Snape was right, it wasn't her that needed me, it was me that needed her, until now. The next school year was sure to be tough and I didn't know how to help. It would be weird if we were seen together too much and may damage her even more but, it was the only way I could help her truly, though with me hoping to become a prefect this year, it may help, but how much, I wouldn't know.
Why did it have to be her? She hadn't done anything to deserve a life like this..One warped by dark secrets.
Maybe she would start distancing herself from everyone, like she did after she found out what she was to become, now, maybe because she is one, maybe she would avoid everyone..
"Draco..I.." My mother began, placing her hand on my knee as my elbows rested on them. "I will do everything I can, I promise you.." She said, her voice soft as I allowed a single tear to drip, I felt so vulnerable, like nothing I had ever felt before and it scared me.
Olivia's POV
Starring out of the windy, tears filled my eyes. The car engine rumbled in front as we sped down the driveway, taking me further from my sanctuary. From Draco.
Turning to face the back window, I hoped to see Draco, one more time before I left again, heading to the burrow for a day before we headed back to Snape's house.
"Problem?" Severus asked as I sat back with a loud sigh.
Shaking my head, I muttered. "I don't know..."
He said nothing as we drove out of view, beig engulfed and concealed by the Grey Mist..
