Chapter 6

"I believe he thinks he didn't"

♢ ♢

The halls buzzed with life as we descended down them. "Do you think he did it?" Seamus asked as we headed back to our common room, shoving past others.

Sighing, I replied. "I believe that he thinks he didn't"

"Well, we all know he could be lying" I watched him look at me out of the corner of my eye.

Shaking my head slightly, I answered "You could be lying about not believing him. Whats the difference?" I shrugged.

He didn't say anything for a few moments until he said softly "Are you worried about Cedric?" Immediately, I stopped to face him, looking him in the eyes.

"Nope..." I lied. I was, I had been ever since Parkinson told me he put his name in the cup.

'History of Hogwarts' I repeated in my head. 'History of Hogwarts'

I smiled internally as I picked the dust, old book up off the shelf and took it back to the table that no one was sat at. A few minutes later and I heard a familiar voice, one that I didn't like too much.

"Oh, Wales"

"What is it Pansy?" I sneered, not lifting my head up until she walked into my line of sight along with Draco.

"Did you know that, dear old Cedric, is putting his name in now?" She smirked, her voice echoing in my ears.

"Nope, and I don't care. It's his choice" I glanced at her for just a second. "Why would it bother me?"

I heard her giggle before speaking again "Ah, well. You should tell him to watch his pretty little back in the tasks"

This time instead of ignoring what she said, I stood up and faced her. Shock was clear on her face for a few moments because of my sudden movement causing her to take a step back, although she quickly regained her composure.

I looked her dead in the eye. "What could you possible gain by telling me this?"

"To see your pathetic face cry in humiliation when he loses" She laughed to herself. She shot Draco a glance that said 'Laugh' but he didn't. No, instead he looked at me. I rolled my eyes before turning away and storming off, the book held firmly in my hands.

"Yahoo! Earth to Oli!...Merlin's beard" He sighed.

"Sorry.." I trailed off, spotting Cedric talking to Fred and George. "One moment"

"Sure, I'll just go back to being non-existent" He chuntered sarcastically as I set off towards Cedric.

Smiling slightly, I waved at them "Hey"

"Hi Olivia" They smirked, trying to hide their giggles.

I lifted my brow in confusion and watched them for a moment before I continued. "What happened with Harry? Dumbledore looked more than furious"

Fred and George sniggered, elbowing each other as Cedric rolled his eyes. "Well, wouldn't you? Harry Potter; The Harry Potter was picked for the TriWizard tournament" I shrugged, glancing back at Cedric who began speaking:

"He asked Harry if he put his name in and Harry denied it, then Moody came up with an explanation. A well thought out explanation at that" Cedric explained.

"No one believes him of course" Fred finished.

"Well then what happened? It can't have been an aging potion" I smirked, remembering what people had told me about the Weasley brothers attempts to put their name in. A very dim-witted attempt to overthrow powerful magic. The ginger brothers shared a glance with each other before rushing into an explanation.

"Heard about that, did you?-" Fred started.

"-It should've worked. His fault of course" George finished, shooting daggers at Fred.

Cedric slipped his arm around my shoulders, using me to rest on as he usually did, as the brothers glared at each other before turning their attention back to me when I spoke: "Sure, sure"

They stayed silent for a second before a smirk lit up their faces. "Anyway, you two lovers" Fred spoke, trying to change the subject.

Shaking my head, I laughed. "We're not lovers". They opened their mouths to speak

"We're not lovers" I laughed at the pair as they opened their mouths to speak when they were interrupted by some other shouting.

"-Oi, Potter! Good luck, yeah?" Someone spat, clearly adressing Harry.

We all turned to see Crabbe, Goyle and Draco sniggering and smirking as they pointed and laughed at Harry.

"Have fun, Potter. You'll never win" Draco spat, his laugh getting louder as the others joined in while Harry glared at them and gritted his teeth.

Cedric was keeping a firm hold of my shoulder as we watched from a far. Worming my way out of Cedric's grasp, I trotted over to Harry. As I got closer, I saw Pansy rushing down the corridor, obviously coming to help mock Harry.

"Leave him alone!" I said, standing tall next to Harry.

Pansy tutted and rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest "Looky who it is. Sibling number 2. Separated at birth. Just as much of a mistake as sibling number 1" She snapped, referring to both me and Harry.

"I'd rather be related to him than look like you!" I snapped.

Pansy gasped dramatically, spinning around to look at Draco "Draco, are you going to let her speak to me like this?"

"Leave, Wales, this has nothing to do with you" He ordered though his voice wasn't demanding or strong, it was weak and exhausted.

Begrudgingly, I nodded and dragged Harry away. A little further down the hall, Harry stopped and smiled "Thanks for....whatever that was. You didn't have to"

"I wasn't gonna let them pick on you....Besides, I got to yell at Pansy, it was worth it" I laughed causing him to laugh too.

"Yeah, that's true. I'm gonna head to the lake, catch up on work 'n' stuff. I'll see you later" He smiled.

Waving, I nodded "Alright, see you later"

Heading back to the common room my mind went for a wonder, thinking about Draco and his Fathers visit to Snape's home in the school break and about Silus. I continued to walk, stuck in my thoughts until I saw a certain ginger out of the corner of my eye.

"Ron? Ron, whats wrong?" I asked walking up to him.

"How did he do it? Why didn't he tell me?" He whispered, his voice sounded hurt.

"Harry? I don't know, but, don't beat him up about it, alright?" We shared a minutes silence before I broke it "Wanna walk back with me?"

"Nah, I think Hagrid wanted me" I nodded, and with that left him alone to his thoughts.

My arrival to the common room was a strange one. People looked at me before exchanging glances with their friends.

I furrowed my brows together "What?" They all looked at each other again before Seamus and Dean stepped forward from the crowd of Gryffindors.

Seamus didn't speak, instead Dean cleared his throat and answered "You should look in your room..." He stated, neither looking me in the eye.

My eyes went wide as I panicked "Why?!" I exclaimed before rushing up the stone steps to the girls dorm room which we all shared.

I barged open the rusty, wooden door, and and was met with an extremely messed up room. The room had feathers from the cushions everywhere and the covers of the bed were dangling over the edges. Pieces of parchment were ripped up and thrown around. The window was open, letting in cold air. And my trunk--And only my trunk alone, was open. My clothes were in piles around it. Someone had been in and turned the place upside down, looking for something.

After my eyes scanned the room, I spun around quickly "Who's been in here?" I snapped.

Sighing, Dean stepped forward "We don't know, Ginny told us"

Glancing back at the room again, I sighed "Did they use magic?"

"We think so. They must've known the password for the door as well or else they couldn't have gotten in" Seamus replied.

"Have you asked the Fat lady about someone getting in?" I asked as they shook their heads.

"Someone must've seen something!" I let out a long frustrated sigh. There was something important in my trunk. Silus' letter.

I quickly ransacked the trunk, desperately looking for it. I left it in the small pocket on the inside of my trunk but it was gone. I picked pile of clothes up and looked underneath them, throwing them in frustration when I didn't find it. I let out a growl as I threw everything everywhere before I sat down, letting a tear fall.
