Chapter 16

"Olivia?!"

♢ ♢

The night was cold, as were the corridors. A harsh wind filled the night and an eerie feeling comforted it. There were no students on the corridor as we walked, my shoes tapping lightly against the floor.

"The Great Hall looked nice" I spoke, my voice quiet as Draco nodded in agreement. "I've never seen it like that" He shook his head.

"Me either"

We slipped back into silence an the eerie feeling began to swallow me. My head began to go fuzzy as a pain shot through it. It was a burning pain, one that I had only felt in my arm. I gasped, gripping my head as images began to flash through.

Falling to the floor, my eyes closed but the images remained. A dark and misty graveyard filled my mind. One grave standing out, a name written underneath. I was too far away to read it but it was different to the others, it felt as if it was calling me over, only, I couldn't move. It had a large Grim Reaper towering over it, holding his large and mighty scythe. Its bare bone fingers gripping onto it, holding it high. The face was dark, but terrifying and soon an uncertainty began filling me.

I squinted my eyes, trying desperately to read the name on the grave but as I caught a glimpse, everything went dark and I was plummeted into the abyss.

Draco's POV

Olivia fell to the ground with a small scream and a gasp, her legs collapsing from under her as I rushed to her side, trying to catch her before she fell.

I caught her seconds before she collided with the floor. "Olivia?!" I yelled as her eyes fell shut and she became unresponsive. "Olivia!?" I shouted again but she remained unresponsive.

Panic flooded my core as I looked around the corridor which would've been bustling during the day, but was now dead and quiet. I looked her up and down, she was laying, no sign of movement, in my arms. Her body was completely limp as I attempted to pick her up.

My first thought was Snape. He'd know what to do. I nodded to myself as I lifted her into my arms. Her dress was following behind as I rushed through the corridor, down to Snape's office. I kept glancing down at her, her eyes still closed. She looked peaceful but her eyes kept moving quickly. It was as if she was trapped somewhere in her own head.

Drawing my eyes away from her, I burst into Snape's office. "Snape!" I shouted as he stood up. potions and other concoctions piled on shelves around the room.

"Malfoy?" His voice was slow and emotionless until his eyes spotted Olivia when his eyes widened. "What happened?!" He yelled, rushing forward, his cloak swishing behind.

"I don't know, she just screamed and collapsed!" I exclaimed, my voice shaking.

He rushed around, pulling an old sofa forward. "Put her here!" He demanded. I nodded, slowly lowering her into the small, quilted sofa. Gently, I placed her head on the arm, moving her hair out of her face. She looked so..so quiet.

"Is she going to be okay? Will she wake up? What's going on?!--" I spluttered, my mind racing as Snape rushed around his office.

"Mr Malfoy! It would be easier for the both of us if you just calm down!" Snape snapped, taking me by surprise. I nodded and took a step back, sitting in an armchair next to the sofa. "Now, we will just have to wait until she wakes up. Which could be a rather long time, so I suggest you head to bed!"

Shaking my head, I sat forward. "No, no. I want to stay with her. I was walking her back to the common room, it was my job to make sure she got their safely, I'll wait here"

Snape sighed and gripped the bridge of his nose, rubbing it slightly. "Very well! If anything should happen you are to find me immediately! I have something to do, I shan't be long" Snape informed. Slowly, I nodded, clasping my hands together.

There was a bang of the door as Snape rushed out. With a sigh, I looked at Olivia. Her hand was dangling off the bed, so, instinctively, I took it. It was soft and gentle. I closed my eyes, holding her hand to my forehead.

What was happening to me? I was growing soft. It was because of her, I knew it. I pitied her situation, of course and if anyone else knew, they would too. But it wasn't that which made me soft. It was her.

I growled, dropping her hand and letting it fall. Quickly, I stood up, pacing around the office.

I found myself always going back to her. Always being there for her. Always putting her in more danger.

Dammit!

I couldn't help it. I tried distancing myself from her but every time I did, I found myself with her again.

The time by the Black Lake. I had gone there to get away from her but she still found me. She saw me, conflicted as I usually was these days.

She always drifted back to me. Things were different now, now Silus is dead, everything changed. I couldn't allow myself to get wrapped up in her, not with what was surely about to come.

I continued pacing about the office until the door opened once more and Snape walked in, only this time, he was followed by Dumbledore.

"Draco? Would you like to sit down?" Snape eyed me up with a raised brow. Nodding slowly, I wandered back over to the chair, spotting Olivia's hand but this time, I didn't take it.

"What happened to her, Severus?" Dumbledore asked, his voice quiet as he got closer to her.

Snape walked closer too, looking over at them both as Dumbledore touched her forehead. "It happened, presumably she has seen something he wanted her to see..." Snape was quiet but his voice still in monotone.

Dumbledore turned around, nodding. "Yes, yes. But have their been any other warnings? Nightmares, perhaps?"

Snape shook his head. "None that I am aware of" His voice dragged.

Dumbledore took a second to respond. "Most unusual. It would be wise for someone to watch out for her, perhaps the same person who brought her here?" His brow raised as Snape glanced over at me.

"I shall sort something" Snape stated as Dumbledore made his way over to the door, saying his goodbyes as Snape closed the door.

Immediately, I stood up. "What was that about? What's happened to her?" I quizzed as Snape brushed past me.

"You have been informed of the agreement, I trust?" He asked, leaning on his desk while he stood. His hands and fingers spread apart. I nodded.

"Then you are aware of where she must reach by her 6th year?" I nodded again.

"Good, then this will be of great help for you --Stay by her side when you can, watch her, look out for anything unusual. She must be unaware when you go and meet--" Snape stopped, looking over at Olivia who began to sit up.

We both rushed over to her. She looked around the room, her eyes flitting around. "What happened?" She asked as she held her head.

"It appears you collapsed and Mr Malfoy brought you to me" Snape spoke, his voice dragging on again. "Would you like to tell me what happened?" He asked.

She nodded slowly, uncertain. "I got this pain, a burning pain in my head. And my eyes closed. Images flashed through my head and next thing I know, I'm in a graveyard.." Her eyes showed terror as mine met with hers. "What's happening to me?" She asked frantically.

Snape hushed her, "Has there been anything like this before? A nightmare? Another vision perhaps?"

She looked at the floor, her jaw dropping. "Well, there was a nightmare, the other day. I thought nothing of it, I thought maybe I had conjured it up purely on my insecurities, but now that you mention it, I felt the same burning pain on my arm, in the nightmare..." She admitted, finally looking up at Snape.

He nodded slowly. "And what happened in this nightmare?"

"Well.." She began. "I was in a dark room, and there was a spotlight on me. People began shouting things at me, things like I wasn't good enough and that no one loved me...Their words were carved out on my arm..It burned. Until..." She stopped. Snape's eye's spurred her on as he looked at her with full focus.

"Until one voice, one that I couldn't recognize told me that I was worth it and that I was a great witch and that I was of great use to him..."

Snape paced the room, gripping his nose with a sigh. "I should've seen this coming, I knew he wouldn't wait long after you reached me.." He grumbled.

Olivia struggled to sit up, no strength left in her body. Seeing her struggle, I helped her up, supporting her back. She gave me a thankful smile before she looked at Snape once more.

"What's going on, Snape?" Her voice was a soft plea. A cry for help.

There was silence as we both looked at Snape. He had his back to us until he turned around. "It appears that the Dark Lord himself, would like to see you both. After the third task"

My face dropped. The Dark Lord. Lord Voldemort. My mind flicked to Olivia, what if something was to happen to her? What if this was the danger I was so worried about inflicting upon her?

"Why--Why does he want to see me?" She stumbled, standing up slowly. Her strength had been drained from her body as I looked at her.

Snape sighed. "I suppose that will be revealed when you go.."
