Possibility of a Mole

Evelyn

I spent the entire day helping Tala, Jenna, and Sookie with the tasks that we were assigned, and I stayed silent. Damian was pleased with our work, and I didn't realize I had fallen asleep in the car until Damian woke me up. He joked about me feeling safe and sleeping near him. Something is telling me that I will not live that down again. He drove off as I exited the car. I woke up in bed the following day and barely slept a wink. I didn't question Damian about it in the car, but would he use me as bait?

Was Jenna telling me the truth? Jenna has known Damina a lot longer than I have. I don't know what to believe anymore or who to trust. Damian never came home last night; he dropped me off and left. I hope that's not a bad sign. I was thinking about texting him to see if he was okay, but I decided not to; it might piss him off. Besides, it's none of my business where he is or what he's doing.

Since no one is home, I don't need to get dressed while making breakfast. I laughed as I left my bedroom and went to the kitchen. "I made some pancakes, but when I placed them on my plate and turned around, Damian stood before me and didn't look happy. "Damian?!" I breathed out.

Even though Damian wore a black suit, I could see the blood on his clothes. I placed the plate on the counter and approached him. "Are you hurt?" I asked him.

"Stop fussing over me, Evelyn, I'm fine," Damian grunted.

"But the blood?" I pointed out.

"It's not mine, Evelyn," Damian said \and that made my blood go cold.

"Did you find out where Vinnie is?" I asked him.

"You don't need to worry about that, my dear," Damian crossed his arm. "I'm going to shower and then sleep for a few hours. I don't want to be disturbed,"

Jenna's right. Damian doesn't trust me. "I made some breakfast if you want some," I said.

"That won't be necessary; I ate at the warehouse and Evelyn?" Damian inched closer to me.

I nodded at him. "Yes?"

"Put some fucking clothes on! Parker, Gregory, and Pheonix are in and out of here all the time," Damian growled.

"I'm sorry, I'll fix that right away," I said.

"You better! I don't want to see you dressed like that again outside of you room," Damian growled again.

"I understand, Damain, I get it," I huffed.

"Make sure you do," Damian left the kitchen.

Note to self: stay out of his way today.

I got dressed and spent the next couple of hours watching TV. It was nighttime, and Damian walked in, fully dressed in a new suit. "There's a party in the gaming room tonight. It starts at 8 o'clock if you want to come," Damian said.

"Okay, thank you," I smiled.

A party? That's what I need to get my mind off past events for a while. I wonder what that was all about anyway, with Damian's demeanor.

I put on a blue dress and short yellow heels. I pull off the Bold in Blue look. I should get down there before Damian thinks I'm coming, not that he would care. I took the stairs to the game area and saw Tala on her phone. "Afternoon, Tala," I said.

"Hey, girl," Tala smiled, then returned to her phone.

My eyes scan the room for Damian, and when my eyes find him, I feel a stab of pain in my chest. He stares at me so coldly that my breath catches in my throat. "Tala, who's that with Damian?" I asked, my voice having a hint of anger.

"That's Shantel, one of Damian's smash and dash girls," Tala giggled.

"Smash and dash? You're kidding?" I laughed softly.

"He fucks them and sends them home. That's about it," Tala shrugged. "No strings attached,"

"Is Shantel a member of The Black Dragon?" I rubbed my arm.

"No, she just works at one of the clubs Damian owns, she's a stripper, a floozy, and a trump," Tala smiled. "I'm glad that Damian doesn't have that much involvement with brothels. Pheonix deals with that department,"

"Are the women in the brothels there against their will?" I asked.

"God, no! Damian's not like that. The women usually come to him. They want to work there. It's safer than the streets," Tala said. "But enough about that, enjoy the party, Evelyn,"

Tala walked off to mingle with others, but I focused my gaze on Damian and that floozy. I'm so angry right now. He told me we would never be together, but I still feel used. I can feel tears stinging my eyes, but I refuse to look weak in front of him.

Damian got Shantel off him and whispered something in her ear. She went out the door, and he followed her. I can't believe he left with her. After getting a quick drink, I left the party and went straight to bed. I wish I didn't attend this party. I wish I were never invited.

Walking down the hall the next day, I heard Damian call for me. "Evelyn?"

"What?" I snarled at Damian.

"Is there a problem?" Damian asked me calmly.

"Why would there be a problem?" I said, sarcasm dripping in my voice.

"This attitude you got going on?" I could tell he was slowly getting pissed.

"Oh, I'm sorry; I didn't realize I was supposed to own bow down to you, master," I do a curtsy to insult him. "Is that better?"

"How about you watch your mouth?" Damian growled at me, but I rolled her eyes and walked away. "I don't fucking think so," Damian followed me to the kitchen. "Evelyn, don't you fucking walk away from me when I'm talking to you,"

"I'm sorry, master, I didn't know I needed your permission to leave," I scoffed.

"Cut this fucking master crap. If you want to call me master, save it for the bedroom," Damian said.

"You're disgusting," I scoffed again.

Damian took a few steps towards me until I started to lean on the kitchen counter. "Let's start again. Why don't you tell me what's bothering you?" Damian took a deep breath.

"Nothing is bothering me; leave me alone," I grunted.

"Wrong answer! Is this because of Shantel last night? Are you jealous?" Damian smirked.

"What? No!" I shook her head.

"Don't lie to me," Damian speedily claimed my lips, but a cough made him pull away.

"Don't mind me," Parker said.

"Ever heard of knocking, Parker?" Damian asked.

Parker laughed. "You want me to knock on the kitchen door?"

"We'll talk in private," Parker followed Damian to the living room, and I followed and stayed out of sight.

"So what do you want to do?" Parker asked Damian.

"I need to sell this building and move. Especially now that the Cobolt Syndicate knows where I live. Do we know how they got in yet?" Damian said.

"No clue, but the alarms were deactivated, as was the CCTV. Damian, I think there is a possibility that we have a mole," Parker said.

"If we have a mole, God help any of my men if they've betrayed me. I will rip their hearts out!" Damian growled as he tightened his fists.

"Where will you be moving too?" Parker said.

"I have my eyes on a good place, but we need to go and check it out. Until we find out if we have a rat or not, only you, Gregory, and Pheonix will know my location," Damian said.

"And Evelyn, what will happen to her?" Parker tilted his head.

"She's not coming with me and I don't know what to do with her,"

Oh my God, Jenna was right! Damian is going to kill me! I slowly backed away and rushed to my room. I have to find a way to get out of here.
