(JUST A HEADS UP: THIS CHAPTER IS GOING TO BE EXTREMELY SHOCKING AND EMOTIONAL! SO DON'T HATE ME OR DISS ME CAUSE I FEEL THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I HAD TO DO!) 

~All I wanted was to heal him.~ Rias thinks to herself. ~To show him that his new family will always love and help him whenever he needed support or someone to lean on. To help him forget and look to the future, but I guess you can never outrun your past. No matter how far you get.~

"RRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!" Kyo and Erakhan butted heads, causing a tremendous explosion. 

Rias flies over head. "Kyo! Please don't let Esdeath win! Fight it!"

Kyo ignores her as then roars and sends a large beam at Erakhan, making him block the attack with his wings. 

"I know that you're in there! I know you're doing everything you can to break free! Please come back!" Rias continues. "You've never let anything stand in your way whenever it came to protecting us or just stopping someone from doing the wrong thing!"

Rias then opens her palms. "DEATH DRAGON CHAOS BLAST!" Rias sends a blast that hits Kyo in the head, not doing much damage but getting his attention. 

Rias narrowly avoids Kyo's jaws as he snaps at her, trying to eat her. Erakhan then uses this distraction to charge in and ram Kyo away from Rias. 

Kyo growls and opens his chest, summoning in an extreme amount of energy. 

"Erakhan, what's he doing?!" Rias cries. 

"It's as I said before, he's summoning in energy from different dimensions! If we don't stop him he'll destroy everything!" Erakhan states. 

Rias then flies straight towards Kyo's head. "KYO! LISTEN TO ME! YOU'RE GOING TO KILL EVERYTHING IN ANY EXISTENCE! DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FATHER? DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR MOTHER? YOUR FRIENDS? .....Don't you care about me?"

Kyo then freezes and looks at Rias with narrowed eyes. 

"You are not a monster! You are not a tortured boy! You're not even a dragon! You're the man I fell in love with! The man who has done nothing but protect me and the others from everything that's come our way! So please, Kyo Najasaki...I beg of you not as your master but as the woman you love, come back to me!" 

Kyo roars, blowing her away. Rias screams as she was sent flying, only to be caught by Erakhan in his giant paw. 

"It's no use." Erakhan sighs. "His mind is too clouded by Esdeath's control. There's only one way I can save him." 

Rias looks up at him. "How?"

Erakhan looks down at her. "Rias Gremory. Swear to me that you will never leave my son alone. You will never make him feel unappreciated or unwanted or unloved. Swear to me you will make him feel like the most special boy in the entire universe." 

"Erakhan, what are you-" 

"SWEAR TO ME NOW!" Erakhan demands angrily. Rias could also see what looked like a giant tear come down the giant dragon's face.

Rias nods slowly. "I swear."

Erakhan lets her go. "Tell my son that I love him. And that no matter what he does, he will never let me down." Erakhan then rushes at Kyo. 

Rias suddenly realizes what he meant. "ERAKHAN NO!"

The Black Dragon Emperor flies straight at Kyo's chest. "You are the most amazing son that I could have ever come to love and raise. I never once regretted bringing you into this world. And I don't regret helping you to achieve the strength and power you possess now. Continue to grow and help others as I have seen you do in the past. And never stop looking towards what the future has in store for you...my son." 

Erakhan closes his eyes as he then collides with Kyo's chest, causing a massive explosion. 

Rias covered her eyes from the brightness of the explosion. Once she removed her hands, she then saw Kyo falling from a great height. 

She then flew forward, deactivating her armor and catching him. "Kyo? Can you hear me?" 

Kyo slowly opened his eyes. "Rias?" 

"KYO!" Rias enveloped in the most loving hug she could possibly form. "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!" 

Kyo held her tight as she cried in his shoulder. "I love you too. Wait, are we in the Dimensional Gap? How did we get here?" 

Rias pulled back but still held his waist. "We got help from Valia and your sisters and they brought me, your father, and the rest of group here. Erakhan managed to get everyone out except me so we could break you free from Esdeath's mind control on you." 

"Esdeath?!" Kyo says shocked. "Damn. So wait, you said you AND my father? Where is he?" Rias looked down as more tears started to flow. 

Kyo held her face and made her look at him. "Rias...where is he?" 

"Your father...he...he went and...and..." Rias couldn't finish, not only it being painful for her, but didn't want to see how Kyo would react. 

"Rias. Tell me." Kyo ordered. 

"He's...dead, Kyo." Rias sobbed sadly. "Erakhan sacrificed himself to save you and stopped you from killing all life." 

Kyo shuddered in absolute terror. 

"No...NO! He can't be...he isn't....FAAAAATTTTHHHHEEEERRRR!" Kyo screamed at the top of his lungs in pure agony and mental anguish. 

"NO! DAMN IT!" Kyo and Rias turned and saw Esdeath with an angry expression on her face. 

"DAMN YOU AND THAT BASTARD FATHER OF YOURS!" Esdeath yells. "FIRST YOU KILL MY BELOVED AND NOW YOU'VE TAKEN MY ONLY CHANCE AT FULLFILLING HIS WI-" 

Esdeath doesn't finish as Kyo just punches in the face. He then summons his Destruction Armor and growls and in fury, "Do you have...the slightest idea of what you've done to me? It was already bad enough you destroyed most of my childhood, but then you take away my wolf, hurt my friends, stab my brother, brainwash me into hurting family, and now you've taken my father away from me! YOU! ARE! GOING! TO! SUFFER!" 

Kyo grabs Esdeath by the throat and repeatedly punches her in the face. 

"THAT'S FOR KILLING CHARN!" Kyo then throws her skyward. "DEATH DRAGON HAILBIRD!" Numerous black energy bolts then form everywhere and all hit Esdeath. "THAT WAS FOR STABBING ISSEI!" 

Kyo then grabs her by the hair and knees her in the face before forming a large place sphere in his hand that gets bigger and bigger. 

"THIS IS FOR MAKING ME HURT MY FRIENDS!" Kyo sends the sphere straight at Esdeath's face, making her whole body become covered in burns and smoking. 

Kyo then summons his sword and yells, "AND THIS IS FOR KILLING MY FATHER!" Kyo rams his sword straight through Esdeath's gut, making blood drip from the blade. 

Kyo retracts his sword and stares at her panting in anger. "Tell me...how does it feel to have come so close to your goal? And then end up being killed by your weapon?" 

Esdeath smiles. Not cruelly or sadistically. Just a warm smile. 

"I feel nothing...at all. Absolutely nothing." Kyo watches as Esdeath turns into ice and shatters as the crystals disappear. 

Rias floats over to him. "Kyo, are you alright?" 

Kyo looks back at her with the most saddened expression she'd ever seen. "He's gone. First I lose Charn and now my father?" 

Before Rias could reply, a large opening ripped apart beneath them and started to suck them in. Kyo immediately grabbed Rias and held her close, protectively. 

"What's going on?" Rias asks. 

"My best guess...we're being pulled out of the Gap and taken through other dimensions." Kyo answers. 

"How is that possible?" Rias asks. 

Kyo shushes her. "Do you hear that?" Suddenly a rift opened in front of them and Great Red himself flew through it. 

"Geezoloo, he's even bigger up close!" Kyo murmurs. 

Rias nods. "Of course. He's the dragon of dragons. What should we do?" 

"Follow him, I guess." Kyo shrugs. "Seems like he knows the way." 

Kyo spread his dragon wings and held Rias close as they followed Great Red through another portal. The pair then found themselves on a beautiful beach with the Dimensional Gap above them. 

Rias looks around, confused. "Where are we?" 

Kyo sat up. "Not a clue. We just wound up here after everything went white." 

Rias then touched his cheek, making him look at her. "Kyo...I am so sorry. I've caused you so much pain." 

Kyo held her hand. "Rias..." 

Rias then stood up and went to the end of the beach. Kyo stared at her as he saw the sky practically illuminate her hair, making her look even more breath-taking. 

"After you saved me from Riser, then and there I wanted you in my life more than anything." Rias states. "I still do. But I feel so responsible for everything that's happened to you recently, Kyo. Losing Charn, facing your abusive mother over and mother, and now your Father having sacrificed himself for you. All this is because I brought you into my peerage. This is all my fault." 

Rias then began to silently cry until Kyo brought her into his chest. "This is NOT your fault. This was all Esdeath. SHE killed Charn. SHE decided to come back and haunt me. SHE brainwashed me into killing my Father. This was all her doing, not yours." 

"He is right, Daughter of Gremory." Kyo and Rias both turn and see Great Red laying on the beach, with his head looking down at them. 

"Great Red..." Rias gasps. 

Kyo lets go of Rias and approaches the humongous dragon. "I assume you...saw what happened. 

Great Red nodded. "I did indeed, my nephew." 

Kyo sighs. "Uncle, what do I do now? I have done nothing but bring so much violence upon myself and everyone else in my life that I care about? I mean, what do I tell my mother when she learns that after seeing her husband for so long she then learns he's dead and gone again? Or how am I supposed to live without Erakhan's guidance? I can still feel the power from whatever monster I turned into is still there! I'm just so...so..." 

"(Sigh) Kyo, I cannot give you the answers to those questions." Great Red admits. "However, what I can give you is this: you have pushed through so much from being a child to the man your father has made you to be now. You may not have chosen the life given to you when you were born, but destiny, fate, anything predertimened has also not been apart of your life either." 

Kyo cocks a brow. "I don't understand." 

"YOU forged your life. You chose to continue to live instead commit suicide as a child or refuse to accept the power given to you when you reawakened your father. You chose to become the Black Dragon Emperor and protect your family and friends." 

Kyo looked back at Rias as she smiled. 

Great Red then continues, "Your Father and I were rivals not just by power but as brothers as well. Now with him gone, I feel it my responsibility to honor his memory and help you along your journey. Approach me, nephew." 

Kyo walked up to Great Red and stood still as he watched the large red dragon place on of his claws against his chest. Kyo felt himself become incredibly relaxed and took a long breath. Great Red removed his claw and smiled. 

"What did you do?" Kyo asks. 

"I took out the power of the Dreadnought Overdrive." Great Red explains."You will still have the ability to use your Juggernaut Drive and your other forms. I've also given you the power to travel between the Gap and your Dimension, should you ever wish to find me and ask for my guidance." 

Kyo walked back to Rias. He then took her hands. "Whatever happens in the future, we'll face it together." Rias began to tear up again and kissed him. Kyo happily reciprocated and held her close. 

Great Red cleared his throat. "Not to be rude, but I would like to return to my eternity of silence for the time being now." 

Kyo parted from Rias's lips and scowled. "I can see why you two are rivals. Erakhan had a heart, you happen to be dick." 

Great Red slashed the ground, making a portal form beneath the two teens. "Till next time, Kyo."

Kyo and Rias find themselves amongst the ORC, Rossweisse, and Irina. 

Issei hugged his brother. "Dude, please don't scare me like that ever again." 

"I won't man, I promise." Kyo says, hugging back tightly. 

Akeno stepped to Rias, giggling. "Well, you sure took your sweet time." 

"Akeno..." Rias smiles. 

Anaria walks up and sees Kyo. "KYO!" Anaria rushed to him and hugged him to her chest with all her might. "My beautiful boy..." 

"Mom..." Kyo sighs happily. 

Anaria then opened her eyes and looked around. "Wait, Kyo where is your father?" Kyo looked up at her as tears formed in his eyes. Kyo just shook his head sadly, making Anaria hug her son once more. 

"He loved you, Kyo." Anaria states. "Just as much as I still love you." The group watched Kyo and Anaria continue to hug in happiness.

Kyo found himself in Erakhan's realm, hearing thunder crash in the sky. "How can I be here...unless-" 

"You are still a smart one, my son." Kyo immediately spun around and saw Erakhan laying directly behind him. 

"FATHER!" Kyo ran towards him and hugged his massive snout. "Rias and Great Red told me you were-" 

"I am, Kyo." Kyo looked up at him in shock. "Before I destroyed myself, I used part of my power to leave a small part of myself in here to speak with you. It will not be long before I disappear entirely." 

Kyo let go of Erakhan. "But, you can't! I can't be as strong as I am without you! I know Great Red said that he'll help me now that you've passed, but it won't be the same! I can't be the Death Dragon Emperor without you! I can't be ME without you!" 

"Smart you are Kyo but also somewhat deluded as well." Erakhan chuckles. "Kyo I know. As does your mother and the women who love you. You are far stronger without me than you can possibly imagine. I know it will be hard, but you must find your own way from now on. I asked Rias Gremory to swear to me that she would be there for you no matter what. And I know that she and everyone else that cares about you will be there to help you and aid you when the time comes." 

Erakhan then looked at his paw and saw that it was starting to fade. "My time has come." 

Kyo shook his head. "Please...don't go." 

Erakhan used his remaining paw to bring Kyo towards him. "I will always be with you, my son. In life or death. I love you, Kyo." 

Kyo closed his eyes and held his father tightly. He then felt nothing as he watched the rest of the mighty Death Dragon fade away. 

"I love you too..." Kyo says quietly, crying.

Kyo then awoke to see Akeno laying over top of him in the bed. He looked down and saw Xenovia on his stomach and Koneko between his legs. Fenrir was also sleeping at the edge of the bed. 

"After everything that's happened, the girls wanted to stay extra close." Kyo turned and saw Rias smiling next to him. 

"Good morning. Sleep well?" 

Kyo smiled and kissed her. "Always with you." 

"Well, you've earned it." Rias states, sitting up. "With everything that you went through, you deserve even more." 

Kyo scoffed. "Come on, I'm not a king you know." The two then went to the balcony and looked up at the stars. 

Rias took his hand and leaned against his shoulder. "Are you all right?" 

Kyo looked down. "No one's ever all right, Rias. The best a person can do is cope and hope that they can live with how the way life changes. I just really wish I could've stopped myself from all the damage I've caused. To everyone...to you." 

Rias put her hand on his cheek and made him look at her. "Don't worry, it's fine. You mean the world to me. I'm happy being with you just the way you are." 

The pair then hugged. 

~That's right.~ Rias thought to herself. ~That's how it should be.~ 

Kyo inhaled as smelled Rias's sweet scent. ~This girl is the reason I continue to live. As well as the other people I consider to be my family. And I'll protect them....no matter the cost.~

At the club room, Rias was talking with Rossweisse about her becoming her rook. "Here you go. It's a summary of the benefits package for servants of the Gremory Household." 

Rossweisse looked at the papers in shock. "No way! The insurance premium's so cheap! And no term-life policy mumbo-jumbo? Valhalla never offered dental or paid vacation days!" 

"I know." Rias shrugged, smiling. 

"I tell ya, if Rias ever needed work she'd do a hell of a job as an insurance rep." Kyo chuckled, crossing his arms. 

Kiba adds, "She's actually buying a Valkyrie on the cheap." 

Xenovia held her chin. "And the devil's whispers were woven with temptation. I could learn a lot from her." 

Rias then hands Rossweisse her rook piece. "So, what do you think? Sign up with Team Gremory for the big win. The Underworld would be glad to have you." 

Irina cocks a brow. "You're really going to make her one of your evil pieces?" 

"That's a pretty unusual choice, isn't it?" Issei questions. 

"Not it in this case." Akeno replies. "Right now, Rias, Kyo, and I are the only wizard-type spawn caster's our squad has on the roster." 

"She compliments our style." Koneko states. 

"I second that." Kyo nods. 

"A power like yours would be best utilized in long range attacks." Rias says to Rossweisse. "I'm think artillery support." 

Rossweisse takes the rook piece. "Perhaps the Norse themselves spun the thread of fate that lead me to your house. Ever since our first meeting in the Underworld, things just seemed right." 

Rossweisse then absorbs the rook piece and sprouts her devil wings. 

"Due to the Gremory Family's record of financial sovereignty and the top tier health insurance and pension, I feel like I finally have a secure future now that I've become a devil in your service." Rossweisse declares. "Everyone, I look forward to our joyous days of working together." 

Rias then turns to her peerage. "And so Rossweisse is part of our crew. She's officially our second rook and the newest member of Team Gremory." 

"I don't know." Irina says. "The whole thing seemed more casual than I expected." 

"I prefer them short and sweet." Xenovia points out. "It was the same for me as well." 

"Now all your pieces are in place, Gremory." Everyone turns and sees Azazel sitting in Rias's chair. 

"Really, Genie-Beard?" Kyo huffs. 

"You're sitting in my chair without permission, again." Rias sighs annoyed. 

"You've got a full squad, which means from here on out you face any challenges head-on." Azazel states. 

Rias smiles and nods. "We will." Rias then looks at Kyo. "I swear." 

Azazel then remembers something. "That's right. Hey, Kyo?" 

"Yo!" Kyo says. 

"The date of your appearance with Issei, Kiba, and Saji on Underworld TV has finally been scheduled." Azazel explains. 

Gasper looks up at Kyo. "So you're going to be on television?" 

"What kind of song do they want us to do?" Issei asks. 

Azazel shrugs. "They said any song of your choosing." Kyo, Issei, and Kiba look at each other and nod.
