(Omega)"So from now on, whenever Black is using his 'serious face', his text will be in bold."

(The Sky Arena)

(Black)"And you are certain that none of you even considered joining her cause?"

(Quartzes)"Yes!"

(Black)"Then remember this. There are only two kinds of Gems! Ones that obey the Diamond Authority, and ones who don't, and they don't live very long. So what kind of Gems are you?"

(Quartzes)"We obey the Diamond Authority!"

(Black)"Good."

I dismissed them, and went back to the palanquin. For the past 4 months, I have received several reports of a pair of Gems causing trouble for my Earth colony. Destroying buildings, poofing Gems at random, damaging Warp Pads, it just won't stop!

(Black)"I had a feeling that I should've shattered that Rose then and there, now she's breaking everything!"

(Pearl)"My Diamond, perhaps you should bring a Sapphire here."

A Sapphire is a rare type of Gem to come across, and for a good reason. They have the special ability to see. Into the future, and for thousands of years, their predictions have never been wrong.

(Black)"That's a good idea, Blue did give me some of hers a few years back, send a message to Homeworld to have one of my Sapphires brought here, along with at least three Rubies, we have no idea what Rose may be planning."

(Pearl)"At once."

(26 Hours Later)

(Peridot)"My Diamond, we've received a message from Homeworld saying that the Eclipse Dreadnought has been completed."

(Black)"Oh good, a big pair of legs aren't the best thing to take into battle."

(Omega)"The Eclipse Dreadnought is a warship that Black had constructed for him 10 years ago for any and all big battles. It's basically the Eclipse-Class Star Destroyer from Star Wars, but more sleek. And if you don't know what that is, here's a picture."

(Omega)"Yeah, this thing is huge!"

(Peridot)"Also, the Sapphire you requested has arrived."

(Black)"Excellent, let her in at once."

She left the palanquin, and a small, blue Gem entered.

(Black)"Sapphire, tell me what becomes of our two little rebels."

(Sapphire)"My Diamond, I foresee the rebels attacking the Cloud Arena. Before they are cornered, they will destroy the physical forms of seven gems, including two of my Ruby guards, and myself. Immediately after my form is destroyed, the rebels will be captured. It will end today."

(Black)"Wonderful. I can finally end this before it gets wor-"

(???)"Black Diamond, leave this planet! This colony will not be completed!"

From a pillar, two Gems appeared. One was Rose, but the other was a Gem that nobody had ever seen before. They were taller than Rose by 3 feet, completely black and white, and their gemstone seemed to be the odd shape in the center of their collar.

(Omega)"I don't have a name for this guy yet, but since he's a clown, he sounds like this guy."

(Rose Quartz/???)"We...are the Crystal Gems!"

(Black)"It's the rebels! Get them!"

The mysterious Gem summoned a large mallet from their gemstone. It had two spikes on each end, one on the top and bottom, and hand that strange symbol on both sides.

For their size, they were fast! In a single moment, they had already taken out a pair of Amethyst, and as two Jaspers charged at them, they swung their mallet right through them like it wasn't even heavy.

The 3 Rubies who escorted Sapphire then stacked up into a pyramid formation, and fused until a larger version of themselves.

The Ruby fusion charges after Rose Quartz, who easily counter-attacks with a single punch, instantly defusing them. The strange Gem then jumps in and destroys the forms of two Rubies, leaving just one. The unknown Gem approached Sapphire, ready to strike. The blue Gem turned to remaining Ruby and said,

(Sapphire)"Thank you, Ruby. You did your best."

Ruby suddenly realized what Sapphire meant. She had known that Ruby would fail. Sapphire had accepted it. But Ruby...Ruby could not.

(???)"Hehehehe...bye bye!"

(Ruby)"NO!!"

As they brought the mallet down, Ruby pushed Sapphire out of the way...and did something that no one expected. In a flash of light, the two entirely different Gems had combined.

The onlooking Gems gasp, horrified. They mutter among themselves. As Black looked on with black eyes.

(The Fusion)"What...what is this?!"

(Black)"I...wait, the rebels!"

He fired his cables at the oddly familiar Gem, only for them to cut them with some type of energy from their hand, and fled with Rose. The Diamond recoiled in pain as he looked at his injured hand. Before he regenerated, the first 2 segments on all 4 fingers were gone.

(Pearl)"My Diamond! Are you okay?!

(Black)"I'm fine..."

The two Gems diffused, and the others surrounded, with Black Diamond towering over them all using his shapeshifting ability.

(Black)"Ruby...I could have let that accidental fusion slide, but you interfered with Sapphire's prediction. By doing so, you ensured the rebel's escape, and for that...you will be broken for this crime!"

(Ruby)"W-Wait! I...I didn't mean t-!"

Sapphire grabbed Ruby by the hand, and ran off the side of the arena.

(Black)"What the?! Argh, things are getting worse! Hessonite!"

(Hessonite)"My Diamond?!"

(Black)"Gather a search party and find those two Gems! I want both of their shards in my hands immediately!"

She, and 30 Quartzes ran after, as Black returned to normal.

(Meanwhile)

(???)"Did you see that? Those Gems, they fused!"

(Rose Quartz)"I never saw two different Gems fuse before..."

(???)"No doubt they'll be hunted like us! We should look for them before Black does."

(Rose Quartz)"You're right...they may be willing to join our causing, knowing they'll be enemies to the Diamond Authority from now on."

(???)"They looked like a type of Garnet, so they must be powerful. And with the future vision of a Sapphire, who knows what kind of potential they got?!"

They heard a noise from the distance, and when they checked it out, it was them.

(???)"It's you! That fusion from earlier..."

(The Fusion)"We didn't mean to fuse! Well...well, we did this time. We'll unfuse! We, we'll..."

(Rose Quartz)"No, no, please...I'm glad to see you again."

There they were: Rose Quartz, the leader of the two Gem rebellion, and her terrifying partner.

(The Fusion)"I don't upset you?"

(Rose Quartz)"Who cares about how I feel? How you feel is bound to be much more interesting."

(The Fusion)"How I feel? I feel... uh, lost... and scared... and happy. W-why am I so sure that I'd rather be this than everything I was supposed to be, and that I'd rather do this than anything I was supposed to do?"

(Rose Quartz)*laughing*"Welcome to Earth!"

(The Fusion)"C-Can you tell me!? How was Ruby able to alter fate? Or, why was Sapphire willing to give up everything? W-What am I!?"

Rose stopped them by grabbing their hands and saying,

(Rose Quartz)"No more questions. Don't ever question this...you already are the answer."
