(Omega)"Black now has a sword. Not a summoned weapon, but a normal sword forged by a Bismuth. He keeps it in a black scabbard, and Pearl keeps it in her gemstone."

(3,000 Years Later)

I found another planet, one called "Earth". This one is promising, it's practically bursting with resources. And what luck, too.

Homeworld is REALLY starting to look bad. 500 years ago, the whole planet began to shake, and it nearly split apart from the Kindergartens. I advised White to stop creating Gems on Homeworld to avoid further damage, and thankfully, she agreed.

The colony on Earth is going smoothly as usual. Structures are being built, Warps are being placed, we even constructed an arena in the sky for sparring.

This planet has tons of gems, even one type we never saw before, Rose Quartz. They emerge as tall as normal Quartzes, but have pink, curly hair, and look a bit like the native life.

These Gems have more abilities than any other so far. They can slow down their descent, create and control a form of organic known as "plants", but most importantly, they can heal cracked gemstones. They secrete a liquid from their eyes, and it'll fill the cracks. We've lost countless Gems from a simple fracture, but that won't be a problem anymore.

(In The Earth Kindergarten)

A flash of light came from the stone, as a tall woman jumped out. She had pink, curly hair, a gray uniform, and a gemstone on her stomach. She was just like the others, seemingly no difference.

One day, while moving some debris away from a rock slide, she noticed something, the planet. She noticed the life on the planet, from the smallest insects, to the largest beast. At first, it was a curiosity. Then, it turned into fondness, which turned into appreciation, then...

It became love.

She began to ask her fellow Gems about what they felt about Earth. She would constantly ask them day in and day out, she wanted to know if they felt that same way as her. But at last, the overseeing Peridot could tolerate these questions no longer.

(The Sky Arena: Black's POV)

I sat in my palanquin watching two Amethyst spar, while the other Gems conversed with each other. They would curl up in a ball, and roll at each other with incredible speed.

After a few minutes, I saw one of the Peridots approaching. This one had her gemstone on the back of her right hand.

(Black)"Peridot, what are you doing here? I thought I assigned you to the Kindergarten."

(Peridot)"My Diamond, I came here to report an issue with one of the new Quartzes."

(Black)"And that is...?"

(Peridot)"A lone Rose Quartz has been interfering with the other workers. She keeps talking about the planet's organic life, and it's keeping the other Gems from performing their duties."

(Black)"Is that so? Well then, tell this Rose to come here at once, I'll settle this."

(Peridot)"At once, my Diamond."

(1 Hour Later)

The Rose Quartz approached the palanquin. From the darkness of said vehicle, all that could be seen was my Pearl, and the soft glow of my eyes and gemstone.

(Black)"Quartz...what have you been saying down there?"

She dropped to her knees, and said,

(Rose Quartz)"My Diamond, it has come to my attention that your colony, Earth, bears life. While I know these organic life-forms serve no purpose, I ask that we leave this planet and spare their lives."

(Black)"Leave the planet? Whatever for?"

(Rose Quartz)"The Kindergarten has been draining the life from the Earth, and has killed most of the life around it."

(Black)"Of course it has, I've seen it hundreds of times before. The organic life is just collateral damage, even if we tried to keep them alive, they would most likely attack us."

Her voice was more desperate.

(Rose Quartz)"Please reconsider, my Diamond. I will admit that I have interacted with the life here and I do not want it do die just for another colony. We could find a new planet, like the ones surrounding this o-"

(Black)"None of the surrounding planets have enough for a successful colony, and this is the best one we've had in ages."

(Rose Quartz)"B-But-"

(Black)"I will not argue with you. Go back to work, and forget everything you know about organics."

(Rose Quartz)"I...yes, my-"

(???)"My Diamond!"

That was the voice of one of my generals, Hessonite.

She was a type of garnet, and was in possession of a prism capable of projection hard light soldiers.

(Black)"Yes, Hessonite?"

(Hessonite)"We've found a suitable spot for the Diamond Temple, but an organic settlement occupies it."

(Black)"Then destroy it, and make sure you don't leave any organics alive, or they'll come back to bother us."

(Rose Quartz)"What?!"

Before I could notice, Rose was just 3 feet away from me, and I knocked her back before she could strike me. A pair of Topaz summoned their axes, and pinned her down.

(Amethyst)"What was she thinking?"

(Jasper)"None of us can fight him, what made her think she could?"

(Ruby)"Is she gonna get shattered?"

I got up from my chair, and walked over to the Quartz. I twisted my hair so that the curved part was in the back. The clicking sound rang around my head. When I was close enough, I crouched down to meet her eyes.

(Black)"That was impressive, you know? No Gem has gotten that close without me noticing."

(Rose Quartz)"Why?! Why do you intend to kill them!?"

(Black)"Because they aren't necessary to the colonization of this planet. They eventually grow old and die. We Gems don't, which makes us better by default."

(Rose Quartz)"These people haven't done anything to us yet!"

(Black)"Doesn't mean they won't. I remember my first colony, 3 organics tried to attack us."

(Rose Quartz)"Please! Just give them a-"

(Black)"I will not argue with you, Quartz."

I discovered during my first years of existence that I can reshape my body, and there was a thing I liked to do. I changed my face by turning my eyes pitch black with white pinpricks, and changed my mouth into a jagged frown. Whenever I did it to a Gem, they knew I was serious.

(Black)"You will go back to the Kindergarten. You will make sure that no organic life interferes with the Gem production, and you will destroy them if they even look at the site. IS. THAT. CLEAR?"

(Rose Quartz)"...Y-Yes, my Diamond..."

I changed my face back, and turned my hair to its original place.

(Black)"Then we are done here. Take her back to her post."

I saw the Topazes drag her away as I returned to the palanquin.

(Black)"Everyone, I will be returning to the moon base."

I used the control panel on my left arm rest, and the palanquin got on its legs, and towards the ship.

(Hours Later, The Moon Base)

(Black)"Ugh, out of 267 colonies, how does this one mean anything to a Gem? It makes no sense!"

I looked over the current status of the colonization of the planet. The Galaxy Warp was almost finished, just need to get one on this moon.

(Pearl)"I never think about this type of thing, but...do you think it was best to spare that Rose Quartz?"

I then looked over a spire we were constructing. The surrounding area would be heavily altered by gravity, causing land mass to float. After that, the Bismuth will carve it out.

(Black)"I'm trying a new thing. The first one would be free, but I'll shut that nonsense down the second time!"

I also checked the underwater shrine.

(Pearl)"But, what if she tries anything to go against you?"

(Black)"You really think a lone Gem would try an go against me? If she does, then she'll have to go through the Diamond Authority by herself!"

Lastly, I looked over the plans for a very special building, something that may help all of Gemkind.

(Omega)"I don't remember what this one's for."

(At the Kindergarten)

Rose went back to work, but with a look of rage the whole night through. She couldn't believe that she and the other Gems had to destroy such beautiful life. She couldn't do that, she wouldn't do that. So on the next morning, she knew what she wanted to do.

Using her immense strength, she leaped high into the air, and ripped an Injector in two. The other Quartzes gathered around, and noticed that she wasn't in her normal uniform anymore.

(Rose Quartz)"Is this what you want -- to inject, to build? I've seen the life that exists for itself, and it lives here. Will you destroy it, or will you join it?"

The Gems didn't know how to react, but the moment was cut short, as Peridot caught their attention.

(Peridot)"WHAT are you doing?! Don't just stand there, apprehend that clod!"

This was something that they could understand, and they immediately chased after the fleeing Quartz. She ran remarkably fast for someone in a dress, able to run into a forest, and hid in a nearby cave without the others seeing.

(Rose Quartz)"What now? They won't help me! Now I'll have all 4 Diamonds hunting me down! What am I supposed to do...?"

From the darkest point in the cave, a strange, whimsical voice echoed,

(???)"I'll help you out...Rose."
