Today's the day. I'm about to establish my first colony. The normal Gems were going to take the gray ships, but for me and my Pearl, we would take my own ship.

It was a large pair of legs, black like mine. I controlled it by standing in a square of light, and my movements would be mimicked by the ship.

The planet we went to was mostly green, with some orange, I guess that's the water? When we landed on the surface, dozens of colony ships spread out to being construction of Settlements, and 6 stayed with me.

We were in front of what was called a "canyon". The walls were smooth and flat enough for a Kindergarten, all that was left was to confirm so.

(Black)"So, how do we find out this place is good enough?"

(???)"Leave it to me, my Diamond"

A green Gem walked towards the canyon. She was about as tall as me, had green skin, pale yellow hair, a visor, and her uniform was gray, black parts were on the wrist, and collar, with a white diamond-shaped outline in the middle to signify she was one of my Gems. Her gemstone was bright green, and shaped like an upside down triangle on her chest.

She was known as a "Peridot". Yellow gave me some files about Gems and their purposes yesterday, and it said that Peridots were made specifically for field task, engineering, and most importantly, establishing and operating Kindergartens.

(Peridot)"This should only take a few seconds..."

Four small rods floated in front of her, forming a screen. She walking around the canyon, tapping some things on her screen. After a short amount of time, she came back to me and said,

(Peridot)"My Diamond, this area is suitable for mostly Quartz soldiers. The walls do not require alteration, and they have decent iron deposits."

(Black)"Oh, that's...good? Then, uh...you can get it set up now, I guess?"

I really need to work on my "Leader Roll", or whatever you call it.

She saluted and walked over to the ship she came out of. Dozens of Injectors came out one by one, and towards the canyons. Once a suitable spot was found by each one, they activated their drills and stuck then into the walls.

(Black)"So, how long will it take for them to, be done?"

(Omega)"I honestly don't remember if it's ever said how long it takes for Gems to form, so I'll be altering said rule!"

(Peridot)"It won't take too long for the first few Gems to emerge, but it will be a few years before colonization is 100% complete. I estimate the first thousand to emerge in a month or so."

(Black)"That doesn't sound so bad. So now what?"

(Peridot)"Right now, colony ships with Bismuth are spread across the planet. They'll find a suitable location, and begin to construct buildings and communication centers."

Bismuth, the files said they were a special type of "Gem". By Gem, I mean a unique metal. They have strange hair, and are made to build stuff like buildings and weapons.

(Later)

It's been an hour now, and Gems are starting to emerge. There's about 53, they're taller than me, have long white hair, and they have orange skin. The files says that these Quartzes are called "Jaspers".

I've noticed something. Before we got started, the area was filled with these green things, but now they're starting to go away, and turned the area a dark purple. The air has changed, too. There's this strange fog all over the place. I wonder what that's all about? Yellow did say something about these Injectors taking the life out of planets...oh well.

(Black)"Things seem to be going well. Don't you think, Pearl?"

(Pearl)"O-Of course it is, my Diamond!"

(Black)"We seriously need to work on that nervousness."

(???)"Hey!"

What was that? It didn't sound like a Gem, it was different. I looked behind me to see three odd looking creatures. They looked like Gems, but not...that doesn't make sense. What I meant is that they weren't wearing Gem uniforms, or had any gemstones in sight. They had a brown cloth around their bodies, and pointed strange object at us.

(???)"You're trespassing on our land! Take your machines, and leave right now!"

Their land? But this is supposed to be my colony. We're too far ahead to stop now.

(Black)"I'm sorry for any inconveniences this may cause, but I have a job to do."

(???)"I said leave!"

I decided to get closer, to try and convince them.

(???)"Stop right there!"

(Black)"I'm just trying to help you understand."

(???)"You asked for it!"

A red light flew out of the device, and bounced off my forehead. It didn't hurt, probably because I'm made of light, too.

(???)"Wh-Wha?! How are you still alive?!"

(Peridot)"You DARE strike Black Diamond?! Such a crime is punishable by death!"

Oh, I forgot to mention. Peridots have a unique ability. They can control metal, mainly for heavy lifting, but it can be used in combat. She used this power to rip the device out the creatures hand, and fire a red light through its face. A red liquid came out, and it fell to the ground.

(???)"Y-You killed him! Let's go!!"

The floating device hit them as they ran, and they too stopped moving.

(Peridot)"That takes care of that. I'm sorry that happened, my Diamond, I hope you're not injured."

(Black)"I'm fine, but...are they dead? Their bodies are still here."

(Peridot)"Unlike Gems, organics can't take damage like us, for their bodies aren't made of light."

(Black)"Oh...ok."

I walked over and took one of the devices. This could be useful for us.

(Black)"Pearl, could you hold onto this for me?"

(Pearl)"Y-Yes, my Diamond."

She took the device, and it was sucked into her gemstone. I never seen her do that.

(Black)"What was that you just did?"

(Pearl)"P-Pearls have a...pocket dimension in their gemstones."

(Black)"Oh...that's cool."

We had no other interruptions that day. I had Peridot oversee the rest of the colonization so I could go back to Homeworld. When I got back, White had prepared another gift for me. It was something called a "Palanquin".
