Once every year, or if something important enough happens, Homeworld arranges a celebration. Whenever this occurs, the Diamonds just sit down, and have the lower Gems dance and talk about how great they are.

This Ball in particular, was for the official beginning of Era 2. All of the Zoo staff, the Inner Circle, SE, and a number of other Gems, mostly Jades, gathered in a large room with four thrones for each Diamond.

After everyone was accounted for, Yellow's Pearl made her over enthusiastic entrance.

(Y-Pearl)"Everyone, behold! The daunting, beauty and elegance that is, Yellow Diamond!"

Four Aquamarines, small, blue Gems, come and pull the massive curtains, revealing Yellow.

After taking her seat, Blue's Pearl made her entrance with a soft spoken attitude.

(B-Pearl)"Everyone prepare yourselves emotionally for the overpowering elegance that is, Blue Diamond."

Some of the Jades couldn't help but she'd a few tears just by looking upon their Diamond. Black's Pearl walked in confidently, and said without a single stutter.

(Black Pearl)"My fellow Gems! Get ready to witness the new form of the mighty, intelligent, and powerful Black Diamond!"

The third Diamond stepped in view, wearing a cloak similar to SE, but with his shoulder guards making him appear wider.

(Black)"Impressive, not a single stutter. Looks like I won't have to rewrite her data any further."

(Black's POV)

I took my seat between Yellow and Blue's. After so many years, we're finally making Era 2 official. I prepared everything I was going to do, all we have to do is wait for-

(???)"May I have everyone's attention?"

Right on time, White's odd Pearl.

(W-Pearl)"Gems. I present to you, the leader of leaders, the Diamond of Diamonds, the most perfect Gem in the universe...White Diamond."

And there she was, Mother. With her unchanging expression, she took her seat. I had to alter mine to be slightly in front of hers, as to not be obscured by her giant legs. Now that everything was in place, it was time for my part.

(Black)"Gems, as you all now, this Ball is in celebration of me saving us from the brink of destruction. Pearl, if you may?"

She projected a large diagram with a line going down for a bit of time, then skyrocketing to this date.

(Black)"We experienced a drastic shortage of resources for nearly 300 years, but with my brilliant mind, and mysterious findings, we have increased Gem production and technology advancement by 500% and rising. And none of it would have been possible without me, or my family."

They all cheered and praised us, before going silent once more.

(Black)"But we must not forget what caused this era...Rose Quartz!"

(Black)"Because of her, millions of Gems were reduced to powder, and most importantly, she was responsible for the alteration of my appearance. But, we must not dwell on all the bad it had caused. The war has opened my eyes, and was the wake up call that made me become the Diamond I am today."

(Black)"I may not be as tall as the others, and I may not be like you all, but no matter what form I take on, It doesn't dilute my strength, or mental capability. In fact, with each time I reform, it increases these powers a thousand fold!"

The projection was now the Star Forge, which was currently draining a red sun.

(Black)"Just look at this machine! I have taken these gas giants, and created enough ships, weapons and Droids to supply us for the next thousand years! A hundred quadrillion if we wanted to! SE, show them the map."

Using all of his fingers, he created a map depicting entire galaxies.

(SE)"Thanks to the Grand Droid Army, we have acquired much more territory for you Gem's increasing numbers. Some of you find them useless, but you should be able to identify the usefulness of such creations."

SE's screen displayed hundreds of his mechanical soldiers devastating a planet's natives.

(Black)"As you can see, with these machines, we no longer have to risk our own soldiers when finding planets farther out in the world. I hope this will silence the bitter phrases I've been hearing about them."

(Black)"That was all I had to say, but remember this, Gems. If we just keep advancing forward like this, we will never have to go through another atrocity like that one 5,000 years ago. So with that...I officially declare the beginning of Era 2!"

They cheered with glee, as the ball finally started. The multi-colored Jades found one with the same shape, and spun around like clockwork. The Quartzes stood in even rows, tapping their feet in unison, and the other Gems gave praise to me, and the other Diamonds.

(Jade)"It's an honor to be in your Court, Black Diamond!"

(Black)"Yes, it is. Wonderful to know I have more Gems loyal to me than before. Thank you for your kind words."

(Jade)"Wow! So radiant and exquisite!"

(That Same Exchange x20 Later)

The dancing and praising went on for several hours, then it eventually died down, and the Gems decided to converse with each other. It was at that moment where I remembered something else. Something important, about Earth...yes, "that".

(Black)"May I have everyone's attention."

(Blue)"Black? What's wrong?"

(Black)"I actually have one last announcement."

(Black)"Back on Earth, during the war, I was creating a new geo weapon. Near the center of the planet, a massive ball of Gem shards are currently incubating, and will eventually tear apart Earth when it takes form. I have assigned my personal scouting team to check on the status of my project. If it's successful, no Gem will ever need to fight unnecessary battles ever again!"

I do wonder what's going on with that old mud ball. Rose and her friends must've eaten all the Humans on it by now!
