Pain Of The Black Cat
Pain flooded my system like a drug, I could feel my entire being ache with a horrible throbbing.
I did not want to move.
There was no point, I should be dead.
Death should be painless.
I let a pathetic squeak out of my mouth, I still felt my tail and paws. I would die as a cat. The realization came horribly, then another thought;
Who would be sad?
The only person who might be sad about me dying was Daniel, the boy who knew me as a cat.
How pathetic.
The anger gave me motive enough to open my eyes, it was a struggle. I saw a fire, the flames danced happily, almost singing it time to the crackling of the withering logs. The noise was peaceful, I could feel bandages all over my body, though the pain was still unbearable at least I wasn't dead.
Along with the fact that whoever patched me up wouldn't want to kill me, they could have just waited as I bled out in the snow.
I felt my dry tongue and realized I could only make rasping sounds, the thought made me mildly panicked, however panic did nothing for me. That fact was true for my dance performances as well.
I couldn't move, though my ears ached they didn't hurt quite like the rest of my body, I let them twitch to detect any noise.
There it was, footsteps and humming.
I heard the footsteps approach, I was able to bring my wavering gaze up to meet a woman who looked in her twenties. She had light-blonde hair and warm brown eyes. She was smiling, and had an ethereal beauty about her.
"Ah, little kitten you are awake~!" she sang happily, I felt relaxed around her.
"Or should I call you Spark?"
My heart dropped.
