Never alone again

She knew she was alone and that she had to find a way to get around it. Needless to say, her self-pitying attitude was the root of the problem. If she got involved in something where she wasn't the centre of events, she would eventually get out of that state. She had little to no regard for human beings. She thought again about how many people cling to life, and sometimes die prematurely. She was different. She wasn't clinging to anything.

She was happy as long as she had her daughter in her care. That little being who depended on her and looked at her as if she was the best thing in her life. But then she grew up and became independent, and with that came demands, criticism and little tolerance, which she was all too familiar with. She was disenchanted with her mother. She went through that too.

She looked and knew instantly that it was him, Raúl.

- I'll answer. No?

- Yes?

-Hello, Flavia! How are you?

It took a few seconds.

-I'm fine, thanks.

-I'm inviting you for coffee.

-It's not the weekend...

-I know, and I apologise for saying that. I made a mistake. I assumed you called because you needed to talk and I didn't want to miss the opportunity.

-It's over. I appreciate you worrying about me, but it's over. I don't want to bother you.

-Let's have a coffee. I want to see you and talk to you.

She agreed. She was determined not to spend another night alone. This way she always gets some fresh air. It would definitely be better.

There they were, face to face. Flavia was uneasy. She looked at Raúl directly. He was a good-looking man for his age. Forget it! He was a good-looking man, period! He could speak, which meant he had some culture, but that was all she needed to know.

- Are you watching me?

Flavia suddenly realised that she wasn't being discreet, which was one of her biggest problems. She showed every emotion, feeling and sensation on her face.

- I'm sorry. I didn't mean it.

You don't have to apologise. You don't remember me, so it's only natural that you want to get to know me. You can call me whatever by Raul – I don't mind.
