Note: Due to the period in which the story is set, i.e. the Roman Empire, some of the major characters own slaves. The author wishes to stress that she does not condone slavery or any form of racism. The story also contains references to teenage marriages and child exposure. Both were pretty common in the Roman Empire. It felt necessary to include these references in my story because they are historical facts and to exclude them would have meant a far less realistic portrayal of the time period. I would like to stress, however, that I am aware of the age of consent on Wattpad and explicitly respected it in Chapter 1.
