Today was the day of the vist of the supreme legal agency, presumably a way of twisted message of reassurance to us Vincherlins that there is hope. However, that hope never came. Which is probably why everyone seems to be high on crack. I would be running to, busting open every door and casually wrecking the place like all the rest of humanity because I agree with this message that they are sending. It's not safe right now.

My name is Debra Monroe Cherrikie, I currently live in Vincherlin which is an island between Japan and China, however I do not speak Chinese – speak English.

The country is split into three sectors: the Vincherlin sector, where I currently am, it's the largest sector as well as being the main site where storage and meetings are. We are in absolute desolation a product of being a war zone, I guess. Then there's the Kingdom of Vin- the holy site. Where they pray and teach. Lastly Cheriganda, which is where the majority of soldiers and children live.

A group of rebels called, 'The lead development of Vin' or for short the LDOV, had come to Vincherlin and stole the limited supplies from our storage unit, killing and wounding many officials on guard. Our leader, Lorenzo, has done nothing about this tragic attack which of course has maddened the people. We are tired of being neglected by our ruler therefore explaining why everyone is acting high.

I'm out behind an abandoned meeting building with a couple of my friends; Casey and James. They live in the same sector as me and are currently observing the insanity.

"People are acting crazy," James chuckled, "I mean did you see that lady pick up a fucking stick and then shove it up some random guys ass- freaky man." It wasn't funny at all, but we knew he was only trying to lighten up the mood. Unfortunately in this current situation it's impossible. We live in this society full of violence and war. Sighing with frustration I pulled at the strands of my hair when Casey blurted out questing why we at war. No one really knows (at least not anybody our age) so they continue to leave us hanging completely and utterly clueless. Through the whispers of adults and quiet eavesdropping I have learnt that it's something to do with the rebels.

People were still running around carrying weapons, some freakishly inventive, they roamed into strangers houses.

"We should be worried, our moms are the ones in the houses," James muttered morbidly, shaking his head slowly, his forehead was now covered in deep creases from frowning; sluggishly he got up from the large rock he was sitting on and announced he was going to go home.

I watched him walk away, his frame quickly disappearing around a dark corner; he was right. We don't know what these people are capable of, they're selfish thinking only about themselves not stopping to think before harming someone. Even if we are supposed to support each other- we don't- hope was lost a long time ago.

"Wait up!" I yelled to James while quickly jumping up and pulling Casey with me, "let's go," we chased after James. Finally catching up to him and walking for a short while, we entered the housing sub section. We were met with a horrifying sight.

Our mothers were standing in the middle of the square, with a large crowd of people circling them- they had weapons. I couldn't understand what was going on. Rushing, I pushed people out the way to reach my mom.

"Debra?" Mom questioned with a small tremble in her voice, her eyes were widened with terror. "What's going on!?" I asked, afraid of the reply. Quickly, she recovered from her shock she pushed me towards the house while whispering short, sharp instructions, "Go to the house , in my room you will find a box on the counter." Reluctantly, I pushed through the crowd and jogged towards the house, and then she shouted "I love you, my darling."

I didn't understand what she wanted this box for, right now it's completely irrelevant but I still proceeded towards the house. Hastily,I scanned the sub sector my eyes were met with many other children, I even saw Casey, and they all came out of their homes with a wooden brown box.

Without warning, my ears were met with that dreaded sound – a gunshot and the haunting scream of my mother. My head turned, it happened so suddenly, they were standing strongly and then they collapse. One by one. I saw my mother, she held her side with an agony struck face, our eyes met I don't know how but she urged me to continue to that wooden box until they slowly shut. The murderers ran like cowards with no regret in their eyes. We all were now alone with no family left, none of us had fathers around, we haad no one to guide us and protect us in this war zone. Slowly gazing at her body, I choked down the tears and sobs and ran into the house and into her room. Finding the wooden box I opened it slowly and the tears started to fall, I found a small note with her scruffy familiar handwriting opening the folded paper with shaky hands I took a deep breath and read.

To My Dearest Daughter Debra,

If you are reading this letter, it means that I'm dead. That all the mothers are dead not only in this sector. It also mean that they found what we were hiding. I'm so sorry Debra. I failed you as a mother. We all failed our children. Please take this gun and protect yourself- no matter what. Honey, please survive I love you so much more that you could ever know.

Love Mom

Taking deep breaths, I started to sob harder, she knew! She knew that she was going to die and she knew something very important. All the mothers knew what was going on and my mom knew and now we are all motherless.
