Several weeks earlier, Owen, Lariat, Thoris, Rox, and their new ally Veld, had left the Gigas realm and were on their way back to the Human realm to find a ship that could take them to the Aqua and beyond.

Present day...

Thoris: "So what's your home like Owen?"

Owen: "Well uh..."

Veld: "What?"

Owen: "I live in the slums."

Rox: "(confused) What are the slums?"

Lariat: "That's the worst place to live in a society Rox."

Rox: "Oh."

Veld: "Really? If your dad could make a sword like that, then why do you live there?"

Owen: "That's because-"

They can see a large fire in the distance.

Owen: "What the hell happened?!"

Owen dashes ahead.

Thoris: "Wait up!"

The others try to catch up.

Owen: "(in head) What happened while I was gone?"

Soon, Owen finds himself standing in the fallen rubble of a half smashed building, with others further ahead not faring much better.

Owen: "(in horror) What happened h-here?"

The others finally catch up.

Veld: "Whoa..."

Rox: "What happened?"

They begin to walk further in.

Lariat: "This looks like something went on a rampage."

They can hear voices ahead.

Rox: "(perking up) I hear people!"

Owen begins to run again in the direction of the voices.

Veld: "He must really be worried."

Owen arrives at a large building with a giant hole in the wall as a door.

Owen: "Hello?"

Owen steps inside to find dozens of people covered in bandages and only about four who are able to move.

Owen: "What's going on?"

One of the four is Rox's father.

Rox's Father: "Owen?!"

The others catch up.

Rox: "Dad?"

Everyone notices Owen.

Owen: "What happened?!"

Rox's Father: "Bandits."

Lariat: "(puzzled) Bandits?"

Owen notices his father amongst the injured.

Owen: "Is this... my fault?"

Thoris: "What do you mean by your fault?"

Owen: "I know I couldn't think that far ahead, but I still did it."

His courage begins to waver a bit.

Owen: "(clenching fist) We can help these people, then get the rundown."

The heroes help treat the injured for the next couple of hours. By the time they finish, they're sore and sweaty down to the bone.

Thoris: "(exhausted) I can't feel my legs."

Veld: "(exhausted) Try your arms."

Lariat: "(calmly) Can you stop whining for a bit so we discover what's going on?"

Rox: "(exhausted) We can't help it."

Owen is focused on his father.

Owen: "We're ready."

Rox's father pulls out a blueprint from his back pocket, showing an altered design for the Origami Blade.

Rox's Father: "Shortly after I arrived here to take a visit, we immediately started working on an upgrade for your sword."

Owen pulls out his sword.

Owen: "Upgrade? I thought this was as good as it was going to get."

Rox's Father: "Would've been if not for me."

Rox: "(exhausted) Not helping dad."

Rox's Father: "U-Uh what happened was that after we developed the Origami Blade Mk 2, some bandits came here, looking for revenge."

Owen: "Me."

Rox's Father: "They ravaged the slums and beyond, taking the prototype in the process."

Veld: "I'd expect nothing less from a bunch of criminals."

Rox's Father: "It also appeared that a Flora was with them."

Everyone: "Flora?!"

Owen: "Well now we know we can't waste any time!"

Everyone else groans and lay down.

Owen: "ASAP then."

Thoris: "(groaning) Won't be for a while."

Owen soon realizes how sore he is and lays down himself.

Lariat: "This'll be an interesting battle."

Veld: "But we're going to win."

Rox: "(yawning) It's good to believe."

They decide to rest for the evening.
