The car ran on the London street and Eve was rubbing her hands feeling cold a little bit but then again her warm clothes and the heater were quite helping her in keeping warm.

"When we will be reaching?" She asked turning toward him who was looking less affected by the cold and continuing typing on his laptop.

"In a few minutes. You can take a hot shower after reaching there." He replied without looking up at her.

"Ahh.. I am dying. Aren't you feeling cold?" She asked leaning against his shoulder.

"I am used to it. I often travel in a different country so I kind of habitual with it." He replied still not looking at her while she mimicked him turning her face toward the window.

After twenty minutes of the ride, they reached their destination. Both got out of the car and she mesmerized by seeing the bungalow in front of her. It was covered with snow and looking all gorgeous. They walked inside the house and he showed her room then went to his room. She didn't wait for a second and rushed inside the bathroom.

Next Day

She climbed down the stairs and saw him already having his breakfast. She went to him and took a seat beside him.

"Hey... Good morning. I hope you are feeling good." He asked looking at her.

"Good morning. And I am actually good. When you are leaving for the conference?" She asked tapping her finger on the table.

"In half-hour. What would you like to eat?" He asked sipping his coffee and called the housekeeper.

The housekeeper comes and stood in front of him.

"Green tea and a sandwich." She said to the housekeeper.

The housekeeper went to the kitchen while Eve scrolled in her mobile.

"No coffee. Girls and dieting." He smirked and she rolled her eyes.

"I have a migraine problem so the doctor denied me from taking caffeine." She replied vanishing his smirk and he looked at her concern.

"Thanks for telling me. I will keep in mind." He said squeezing her hand and she smiled a little.

The housekeeper comes back and puts the tray in front of her then left from there. They finished breakfast and Xavier went back to his room while Eve went back to her room. She turns on the TV and started watching her favorite show. She heard foot steps sound and looked up to see find Xavier approaching toward her bed.

"What?" She asked with bored eyes.

"Just wants to say bye to you." He said pulling her up and smashed his lips on hers.

She gasped in horror but quickly clutched his coat and kissed him back. He bites her lips and entered his tongue in her mouth. She moaned in his mouth as he sucked her tongue and squeezed her ass. She moaned in his mouth and held his coat tightly to save herself from falling down. After savoring the moister of each other mouths they broke the kiss breathing heavily. They breathed normally and he smiled seeing her red cheeks.

"See you soon, my wife." He whispered rubbing his thumb on her cheek and went away from there.

She dug her face in a pillow and screamed loudly.

After three hours

Eve lazily rolled out of the bed and lay on the cold floor. She lifted her legs and placed them on the bed feeling all bored. She threw the controller on the couch and groaned loudly. She got up after a few minutes and dragged her bored ass out of the room.

"Hey..." She called the housekeeper and smiled at her.

"Hello, ma'am." She greeted her back with a smile.

"What's your name?" Eve asked jumping on the couch.

"Casey. I hope you are comfortable here." She replied.

"I am very comfortable here but I am feeling bore here. I don't have to do anything here and I also forgot my books at home." Eve explained sadly.

"Ma'am, there are many places here. You can go out if you want." She said making her jumped out in happiness.

"Thank you, Casey. You just help me a lot. I will be back in a minute." Eve said running toward her room.

She changed her clothes and wore some warm clothes. She covered her head with a beanie cap then slide gloves and wore her shoes. She walked out of the house and her lips quarreled because of the snow.

"Hello ma'am, today I am at your service." A faired white skin man with black goggles on his eyes spoke.

"I want to roam the city." She asked shivering a little.

"Please." He said opening the car door and she slipped inside the car.

As the car halted on the road Eve decided to message Xavier because he must be busy in the conference. She left him a message and glued her eyes on the road clearly enjoying the weather.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Thomas." He replied.

"Nice name. Do you know any bookshop here?" She again asked.

"Yes. If you want to go then I can take you there." He replied.

"Yes, please." She said with a smile.

He nodded and drove to the bookshop. After ten minutes he stopped near a bookshop and she got out of the car. She walked inside the shop and started looking for novels and medicine books.

After two hours she walked out of the shop with a lot of bags. Thomas took the bags and placed them in the car. She too sits inside the car and closed her eyes. Thomas went to the driver's seat and drove home. Soon they reached home and he got out of the car only found Xavier waiting outside.

"Good afternoon, sir." He greeted him bowing down his head.

Xavier just nodded his head and opens the door. He leaned his head near her face and touched her cheek thus she woke with a jolt hitting her head on the top.

"Aaauucchh..." She winched thus he instantly placed his hand on her head and rubbed softly.

"No need to flutter much. It just me." He said pulling her out of the car.

"I am sorry." She apologized and he shook his head.

"Let's go inside. Thomas will get your bags." He said taking her inside the house.

As they stepped inside she throws herself on the couch and he chuckled.

"So daddy's princess is tired after shopping all day." He said thus she instantly sit up and looked at him with wide eyes.

"Don't... don't ever say that." She snapped at him.

"Why? I said the truth. You are no less than daddy's princess." He said shrugging his shoulder and pointed at her bags.

"No, I am not daddy's princess. Don't ever say that again." She said getting angry at him.

"Oh... you must be angry at him because he didn't walk with you in the aisle. That's not the big reason." He said shaking his head.

"It's not the reason. You don't know anything. You just don't." She yelled at him thus he looked at her shockingly.

"Hold on. I don't know what's going on between you and your father but that doesn't change the fact that you are daddy's princess. I know how your father is and of course, you are his dear daughter so you are no less than him. You just married me because I am rich and your cunning father got a big jackpot. The way you are behaving right now; it's enough to tell me that you are a spoiled brat. Just because I behaved well with you doesn't mean I am going to bear your all tantrums. Learn to accept the truth." He snapped at her.

She just looked at him with teary eyes then pushed him harshly before running back to her room. He doesn't know anything about her. He just doesn't. She locked the door and collapsed on the floor crying hysterically. He followed her and knocked on the door.

"Evelyn, open the door." He shouted but she gave him a deaf ear and continued to cry.

He banged on the door two times then spoke, "Fine, don't open it."

He groaned and went from there. She was crying and cursing her luck. Don't she have the right to live a happy life? First her parents and now her husband who thought opposite of her character.

Xavier comes back to his room and sits on the bed taking his laptop. He didn't understand why she was behaving all affected by his words so much. It's not like he lied to her.

Next Day

Xavier opens the door using a spare key and enters her room. He saw her sitting on the balcony and starring in the sky. He let out a relieved sigh and walked to her.

"Eve, I am sorry." He said placing his hand on her shoulder.

"It's ok. It's not your fault though." She said giving him a small smile and he embraces her in his arms.

"I am sorry again. I shouldn't have to say that to you. You know me. I have never ever spent this much time with any other girl. So sometimes I lose my temper." He said caressing her hair and tears rolled down from her eyes.

She pulled back from the hug and hit his chest.

"You hurt me a lot, Xavier. You don't know anything about me still you said awful words to me. You said I am daddy's princess when you don't know that I am not. My parents don't love me. They always love Maddy only. Do you know how did I get this mark? My father banged my head on the wall because I wasn't ready to marry you. They always hurt me and yesterday you also hurt me." She cried continuously hitting him on his chest.

He stood there in shock after her revelation while she fell on her knees crying. He instantly goes on his knees and took her in his lap. She curled up in his arms while he hugs her tighter comforting her. It's not like he cares for her but he couldn't imagine her in such a condition. Or maybe he cares for her ever since the day he kissed her. He was just not ready to accept his growing feelings but one thing was clear that unknowingly she stared melting his heart.

He felt her sobs died and broke the hug. He got up from the floor and laid her on the bed. He wiped her tears and covered her with a blanket. He laced his finger on her forehead and traced on her cut mark. He felt like to rip off her father's body and burn it somewhere.

"I don't know what you are doing to me but I will not let anyone hurt you from now. I will protect you from everyone." He said kissing her forehead and rubbed his thumb on her cheek.
