Her eyes were glassy. 

"Kaif-" she whispered and then her eyes flickered behind me and within seconds back to me

I smiled at her holding up the black and white diamond ring that i had bought for her. 

"Please say yes" I muttered praying to Allah she says yes. 

"Kiaf I-" she said and then fireworks exploded and people ran onto the terrace. 

"KAIF!" yelled ammi and I quickly stood up turning around to her 

"Happy New Year!" she said excitedly and hugged me

I tried to get out of her grip but it was too strong. 

I needed my answer for Allah's sake!
"Happy New Year ammi, let me go- I'm dying" I said with a forced smile. 

"Awww..." she said and ruffled my hair. 

I turned around and searched for Hasti in the crowded terrace.

No where in sight.

Where is she?! 

I took out my phone and called her praying she would pick up. 

"The number you are trying to call is unreachable, pleas-" said the female voice and I hung up. 

Why is her phone unreachable!?!

I called up Zaki. 

'Bhai?" he asked 

"Where are you?" I asked him frustrated

"Uh... downstairs, in the hall" he replied 

"I am coming- look for Hasti" I said and hung up. 

I sprinted to the hall downstairs. 

Stupid new year! It had to come when she was going to answer me!

"Bhai you okay?" asked Zaki in a worried voice. 

"Yes, did you find Hasti?" I asked him

"I thought she was with you!" he replied 

"she was going to answer me when the fireworks exploded, ammi came and the terrace crowded with people!" I replied and then it hit me. 

The ring!

I searched my pockets and jacket. 

"What are you looking for?" asked Zaki

I ran my hand in my hair that was messy. 

"I lost her, I lost the ring!" I replied 

"Maybe she has it!" said Zaki

"She did not take it- AMNA!" I called out to Amna

She looked at us and then walked to us

"Happy New Year!" she said and we nodded

'Did you see Hasti?" I asked her

"Yeah, I think she went-" Amna replied

"Maybe she went home," i said to Zaki and he nodded "Thanks!" we yelled as we sprinted to the SUV

Suddenly we came to a halt. 

Ammi!

"I will go home you get her!" I said to Zaki and he nodded. 

I got into my SUV and drove home above limits. 

I reached the Gates in minutes and sprinted into the house. 

"HASSTTII!" I yelled for her but no sound came. 

I ran up stairs as I searched the rooms. 

I ran into her room but her things were not there, except a note- with my iphone. 

I picked it up and read it, walking to my room. 

Kaif, I know you are reading this- I just wanna say I am sorry- I know you liked me and all and i led you on- i wish i hadn't. I had my reason's. I am sorry.

What the hell?!?! Where did she go?!?! 

I switched on my iphone and went on videos. 

"Ammi" I opened the video for ammi

Hasti's face came up. 

"Salaam ammi- ah.. aunty- ammi-" she said smiling at the camera

"I just wanted to say.. I was the most luckiest girl on earth to have been granted a family like yours, a mother like you- thank you! I love you alot!" she said as tears pricked her eyes. 

"I knw i may be cranky and weird-*she laughed nervously* but you still loved me like a daughter- I will always pray to Allah that you have all the happiness and health in the world! and p.s You have amazing kids!" she winked 

"I guess I will have to go but before i go I wanted to say I love you alot- you were like a mother to me and thats something i am thankful for! Thank you and I love you!" she said tears rolling down her cheeks. 

The video ended and I felt myself shiver. 

The next one was for Zaki. 

"Heyyya best friend!" she said grinning at the camera. "I am so gonna miss you! I wish you coud come with me but I know you are your bros lil pet!" she winked

"Okay so I am sorry but i am leaving... yeha sad i know- I will still love you aloooottttt more then i love ahem ahem but still i love you more!" she said and laughed. 

"I will miss all the mid night talks and all the times i fought with you coz you him... still i love you allooott!" she said 

"Okay then good bye...if Allah will we shall meet again, that i doubt- but- oh wait- MAKE SURE YOU TELL HER!" she yelled the last part

Tell who? I wandered. 

"Ayways, time to go- Allah Hafeez and may every girl in the world have a best friend like you! Bye... love you" she cried and then the video ended. 

I set on my rugged floor. 

My turn.

I switched on the video that said Kaif. 

I pressed play and held on my heart. 

She smiled at me sniffing. Maybe she made my video last as her eyes were red and puffy. 

"Ah.. hi-" she said awkwardly then she grinned

"You knw what, lets just cut the formal and awkward greeting- I just wanna say- thank you- for saving me from the police station and sharing your ice cream. For making me laugh and for giving me the bracelet. Yes I saw you in my room. I am sorry that i had judged you- Can I confess something?" she said raising her eyebrows 

"I loved you-" she said and my eyes went wide as saucers. 

"No I still love you- not like- but love- Its like that feeling..... when you fought over that ice cream, i fell in love. I had a crush on you the first time i saw you but that was not enough when I got to know you-" she smiled. 

"I fell slowly... at your thoughts, you smile and your laughter- often when you do your work, so concentrated, i would look at you and think 'Ya Allah will he even like me?' but my answer always came to a no! I relaly don't knwo why i am telling you this but i am.. I guess coz from today onwards I will no longer be under your protection!" she said

What protection? What is she saying!?! 

"Yes i as under your protection, form my family. They cannot harm a billionaire like you- my masi Maya had put me with you- no one knew that except your ammi, me and Maya masi. Please don't yell at Ammi for not telling you! I am sorry I needed to get away from my father for a while, my family was messed up and I had no toehr choice, but i swear whatever moments we had was all true. I... I fell in love.. with you- something i was not suppose to do!" she had said. 

Tears rolled down my eyes. She just can't tell me she loves me and then leave me!!!

"I am sorry- but I loved you- i will- but its just- please don't attempt to look for me- I am unknown and i wanna remain like that-" she said tears rolling down her own cheeks

"Its better to just let go- i am sorry and I really lo-" she video was cut. 

What was that? I set on my bed as I thought of all the things she said. 

I screamed as all her words echoed in my head. 

"I love you" she had said "Don't attempt to look for me!" 

Why? Why won't i look for her? The girl I love, damn it!?! 

I ran my hand in my hair. 

no, it can't be true, Ya Allah please let it be a joke! I prayed. 

I got up and did my whudhu. I needed Allah most. 

As I did my sajdah, I prayed. 

Ya Allah, why? Why did you make me love her and let her go away? 

Why? Kyu usse bheja jab dur jaana hi tha!? 

Why Allah Ta'ala why? Please guide me!

I set up and said my salaam. Then opened my hands and asked Allah for something that I craved. Patience and guidance. to the right path, to the path where i can be with her! 

I set there tears runng down my face. How can a girl make you so weak!?! I remember not crying over anyone like this except Uzaira. n

I needed my pills. 

I got up and searched the whole room. 

No pills. Dam She had it with her 

I ran to her room and searched the room. No pills. 

"Its dangerous!" her words came in my mind. 

"AARRGGGHHH!' I yelled in frustration.

"Bhai?" said Zaki and I saw ammi looking at me worriedly.
