I open my eyes and look around the room. I see a window in the far corner and the sun shines into the room. I see wires connected to arms and look around the sterile room and notice that I'm in hospital. I see a tanned arm resting on the bed. I shake the shoulder of the guy in my room.

He lifts his head up and smiles. "Your awake, Ava. I'm going to get a nurse."

I shake my head. "We need to talk." I rasp out.

He leans his arms on the bed. "What do we need to talk about?"

"Our daughter. What we're going to do when I get out of here? Who Faith is going to live with."

Dex looks at me. "Can talk about all that later. Right now I need to get the doctor. You're going to be observed and you will need to talk to a counselor."

I glare at him. "You know I wouldn't need all this if you gave me a chance to tell you that Christa was in town and that the girl you saw was her. I stayed at home like I said earlier. I got a call from the hospital as I was put as an emergency contact to her. I called you, but your phone cut me off before I could tell you that Christa was in the hospital. Then our daughter decided to come four weeks early and you weren't there when I needed you the most. To top it all off, Dex, you took the most precious things away from me." tears begin to fall down my face and I turn away from him.

"I'm sorry, Ava. I wish I could take everything back. I know that I can't do that and I have to live with all this for the rest of my life. I screwed up the best thing that ever happened to me. I know sorry isn't enough and that won't let you heal from the pain I caused you. I didn't want you to take your life."

A doctor walks into the room at that moment and it makes being in the same room as Dex a little easier.

I look at him. "I want to see Faith. Can you bring her in here?"

Dex looks at the Doctor. "Is that alright with you?"

He nods. "I heard that she's allowed to go home today."

Another thing I miss out on experiencing; is bringing my daughter home and putting her in bed.

"Yes, she is. I'll be staying with my parents until..." he looks at me. "Until your released, Ava. All I ask is for access to her on the weekends?"

I'll let him have that. I don't want my daughter to grow up without knowing her father. Both parents are important in a child's life.

I look at him. "You can have her on weekends. I do have a request though. It's that you can't see anyone while you have our daughter. I don't want another woman in her life."

He smiles. "I don't want another woman in my child's life. The only woman that I want in both of our lives is you, Ava. I've made an appointment to see a counselor. I'm going to change for me. I just hope that someday you can forgive me and give me a second chance. I know that it's not going to happen at the snap of the finger. I'm going to take care of myself and hope that things start to fall in place for me."

"I'm glad that you're going to get help. I wish I could be there for you, but I have to care of myself too."

Dex moves towards the door. "I'll be right back with, Faith." He exits the room.

The doctor continues to examine me. He looks at me. "A councilor will be here shortly to talk with."

"I don't need to talk to anyone."

He shakes his head. "It will make you feel better if you talked to someone. We've all heard what he's done to you. The nurses in the nic u have the biggest mouths in the hospital. They hear things that there not supposed to. I also heard that a nurse never filed a birth certificate for on the babies."

I smile. "Which one?"

"Your daughter. The nurse didn't think it was a good idea to file something without your permission. They knew it was you when you came back to the hospital with blonde. I don't know how he couldn't recognize."

"Do you think his lack of sleep could have caused him not to recognize me?"

He looks out the door. "I have no idea. His family has been avoiding him since everything went down between you two. When Dex went out his family would show up."

I never wanted that for him. Why would his family do that? They should have helped him out.

There's a knock on the door and I see Dex's Mom standing there with Tyson. Tyson enters the room and he sits next to me. "How are you feeling, Ava."

"Numb," I mumble. I look over at him. "I have a question for you?"

Mrs. Clarkson enters the room and she sits next to Tyson.

Tyson leans on the bed. "I'll answer if I think it's appropriate."

I look between mother and son. "When did you sleep with Christa?"

His mouth drops. "You know?"

"Yes, you gave her one of the things she wanted the most in the world. She's having your twins, Tyson. Last time I checked she was still here recovering."

"What happened to her?

"She had a pain in the stomach. That's all the information I learnt as I was pissed at her. It's her fault that everything between Dex and I are like this. She looks exactly like me and she was making out with some guy she just met.

Mrs. Clarkson's fists her hands and she looks at her son. "You got her knocked up?" Tyson nods. "I met that woman yesterday and I instantly disliked her. She mentioned that she knew you. Your brother didn't give me any information either."

Tyson looks away from his Mom. "I'm sorry."

She looks at him and holds out her hand. "Get a DNA test first. Then we can go from there with what happens next. She's won't be a fit mother."

Tyson moves over to my bed and he looks at me. Do you think she'll be a fit mother to those children?"

I shake my head. "If the DNA results come back that they're yours I'll let you take them. If it's negative I'll take them. I don't want my niece and nephew to live with strangers."

Mrs. Clarkson looks at me. "You would do that for your sister?"

I sigh. "Yes, despite her being mentally unstable she's my sister and nothing can take that away. I just hope that she'll agree to go to a mental institute and get help. Mrs. Clarkson, you need to stop being hard on the people that love you the most. Let them make their own mistakes. Your boys are smart. I believe they will learn from it."
