Chapter 11: Suspicions

Evelyn's POV

"Where would you like to go for lunch ma'am?" My cute little personal bodyguard Oliver asked. Personal bodyguard?! I know right? Very irritating. I mean what was the need?

"Stop calling me Ma'am, Oliver!" I said strictly.
But no use.

"Sorry ma'am. We are not allowed to" Ugh! I went towards the car while Oliver was already holding the door open for me. How sweet!
But my mood soon turned dim looking at the number of cars and bodyguards behind me.
I haven't yet gotten used to it. It's kinda creepy with so many men following you.

"You're here to see that everything is of my convenience, right?" I asked him.

"Yes ma'am" he said in his usual clipped tone.

"So Livvy....." I used that name purposely to annoy him. But that has no effect on him. "I don't want those men following me!" I told with my eyes narrowed at him.

"I'm sorry ma'am. We cannot do that. Mr. Perkins' orders" he said with his goggles on. And all I feel like right now is to break them.
"Ma'am? Lunch?" He asked again.

"Anywhere would be fine" I said and settled into my seat. I'm in the mood of some burger and fries. Anywhere and I don't mind until the food is good and yum!

I didn't move or speak till we reached the Capital Grill Restaurant. As soon as I got out, I stood glaring at Mr. Livvy. "You know what? I don't want to see you people in there! Out of my sight! If you want, you all can stand here and guard me. No one's coming in" I yelled at him. For no reason.

"Yes ma'am." He said again. That's a reason good enough.
I thought he'd say the opposite! Aaaaargh! And to top it off my husband had sex with me and left in the morning. And we are Newly Married?! Bullshit! And a wedding without a honeymoon! I'm already pissed off as it is.

I quickly got inside. As the weather here suddenly looked gloomy just like my mood. Strange... it was alright just a minute back.

I entered the restaurant which was quite classy yeah... nothing like mine. Well....my restaurant is not actually in a poor condition or anything but... you can say affordable..?
Oh yes! I haven't called Chrissy yet. She should be able to tell me about it.... or for all I know she would've declared a week holiday for all our staff.

I found a seat in the corner, very near to the door as a cute waiter approached me with a smile.
"Hello ma'am. I'm Leo and I'll be you server for today. Can I start you off with something to drink while you have a look at the menu?" He asked with a gentle smile. I wish I was a teenager again. But I'm married... to a hot piece of ass! And this guy is nowhere near my husband.
Ok.... 'Eve! You're married for god's sake!'

"Yes, thank you... I will have a lemonade" I said but he looked at me weirdly then replied with a 'yes ma'am' and left.

I looked out of the window next to me only to find Oliver and his ugh! Mini rats surrounding him.
I sighed thinking that they're not going to change and looked around the restaurant for a bit until my eyes stopped on someone. And that someone....

Sitting at the center table was none other than my husband with a beautiful, gorgeous girl sitting opposite him. She has all her blonde hair piled up on one side of her shoulder, with a fair complexion, like the light's radiating off her. She had a bright red lipstick on, I wonder how Nick's resisting her.... wait wait... what am I thinking? Nick? Resisting her?
It could be just his friend. I thought. And just then she looked at him desperately.
Ok.. I think I should be out of here.. oh oh... I thought but she had already jumped into his lap hugging him tight. Even I wasn't wrapped so tight around him last night. I guessed he wasn't the cuddle type. But girl! Was I wrong?! My suspicions were right from the start. I knew he had a girlfriend.

Look at this man here... she's not even crying, I can't even find a single tear and here he is consoling her. Wow! I have never seen him like this before. Oh god! Too much love around here. Can't tolerate! I'm going to puke...huh!

I kept few notes on the table and moved out of that place without getting the change. That server guy's getting a huge tip... who cares. Not my money. I think I'm never ever going to come back to this restaurant again. Bad memories!

Wow! That was a shocker. I seriously didn't know he had a girlfriend. I feel like I'm the mean second women here. But wait! I have the legal rights here! I'm his legal wife!

Oliver still stood holding the door for me while I was thinking about what just happened. I smiled at him confusing him, but I'm sure he has seen everything through the glass door.

"Home" I just informed him where to.

I pulled out my phone from the pocket and called Chrissy, "Hey Chrissy! I just wanted to ask about the restaurant. Are you free?" I asked her hoping she is free.

"Yes. I am. But why are you calling me now? I thought you both were already on your way to your honeymoon" she said doubtfully.

"Forget the honeymoon. Get to my place. I mean the penthouse not my old one." I said. I tried. I really tried to be cheerful. But that women hugging him just kept repeating in my mind.

"O-oh sure. I'll be there in half an hour" she said, and I cut the call without a reply.

When I reached the penthouse. I was already exhausted like never before. I ordered three bottles of wine. Two for me, one for Chrissy.

Ok.. I'm not depressed or something alright. Just drinking. I love alcohol. I feel kinda bad and lonely. I don't understand this feeling. Just a tad-bit sad..
I was already done with one of my bottles and Chrissy wasn't here yet.
With another bottle emptied. I got up..

I felt too sleepy, dizzy and staying awake was difficult! I could wake up when Chrissy is here... I thought and went to bed. Switching off the lights, closing the curtains and pulling the blanket over my face.

Nicholas's POV

"Yes sir! We still have him but he's not ready to tell anything" Sean, my right hand replied to me on phone.

"Fine. You work on this. Find out who is doing all this?" I said in a bored tone and cut the call.

Just as I cut the call, I have Oliver calling me. Well I asked him to inform me every hour
"Oliver." I said expecting him to continue.

"Sir we are now heading home" he said.

"What didn't she have lunch. She had something right" I asked.

"Uhm.. no sir. She was not in the mood, so we took her back to the penthouse." He said.

"What? Last time you called; you were all heading towards some restaurant. What happened" I asked all serious now.

"Yes sir. The Capital Grille" he said. Capital Grille? Oh Shit! I know what happened now...hmm..

"Ok" I said with a sigh

"And sir?" He asked again if he could continue.

"Yes"

"I think we have a problem" after a long pause I replied.

"Inform about this to Sean and our hacker" I told him as he replied 'Sir' again and I cut the call.

Time to go home.

By the time I reached the lobby. I found Chrissy coming towards me. "Hey there" she said in her sad voice.

"Hi..." I replied carefully.

"Before you ask. I was here to meet her as she called me but she's not opening the door now" she said upset.

"Oh. I have a key. You'd want to come-" but she soon cut me off.

"No no. I think you people should spend time. And please take her to the much-awaited honeymoon" she said with a wink and I rolled my eyes at her.

"It's OK. At least come meet her before you leave" I said not giving her a chance to argue.

Why hasn't she opened the door? Something wrong? Mmmm... nope no one would have the guts to come till here. I thought and unlocked the door letting Chrissy in.

She wasn't in the kitchen or living room but when I went to the bedroom, she was sleeping with the blankets covering up to her neck like a kid. I knew it when I saw two wine bottles rolled on the kitchen counter.

"Awww.." I heard her friend behind me.

"Ssshhhh" I said with a finger on my lips signaling her not to wake her up. I looked around myself and knew the luggage wasn't packed.

"Could you help me pack her clothes?" She replied to me with a huge smile nodding at me.

"Ok now I've to leave. But before I leave... hmm... she sounded... kind of sad... "what have you done mister?!" She asked raising her eyebrows.

"Oh she was sad that we had to postpone our honey moon. That's all" I said, and she obviously believed.

"Ohh ok... but if it's something else. I swear I'll chop your... You know what!" she said soon left.

I went back to the room. And carried my dear wife who slept without a sound. She simply turned hugging my chest.

Here we go... 'we have a flight to catch wife' I whispered in her ear.
