Iqraam

I did not know what went wrong with her yesterday but all i knew was that she was sick

i had called and she seemed.... cheerful

but something was off about her

why can't she just tell me?

"Iqraam we leaving!!!" called out ammi and i nodded looking up from my laptop

"You want something?" asked abba and i shook my head going back to work

abba, ammi and Namaan with Nafz were going to get vegtables, fruits and other things we could not buy yesterday when they went shopping

once they were out of the house, Iqra and Nabz walked to me and grinned

"What?" i asked them

"Oh nothing!" brushed off Nabz in the most obvious way that clearly said something was up

the door bell rang saving them and Iqra ran to it

i heard her squeal and knew it has to be Huma bhabhi

"Quit it yaal!!!" whined Iqra and i heard two laughter's

one was very, very familiar

my eyes shot up and met with a familiar hazel/ brown eyes

a smile made its way to my face and Nabz coughed

"As salaamu alaikum!" grinned Nabz at them and i looked away

"Wa alaikum mus salaam" replied Huma bhabhi and Ruqayyah in unison

"As salamu alaikum" i said to them, smiling up at Ruqayyah

where were my kids?

"Swalam!!!!" screamed Zahi running to me

i laughed and hugged her

Shumayll entered, halted, stared at Iqra for more than normal, time, shook his head and walked inside with Sohayll in his arms and Zaik walking beside him

Something I am missing here?

Or not

Iqra turned to him and frowned and he grinned

It seems like they can't go a day without fighting!

"Iqraam my brother!!!" He yelled as he walked to me

Sohayll began crying and Huma bhabhi took him from Shumayll

Zaik hugged me and set down beside me

"So when do we start?" Asked Ruqayyah taking a seat beside Zaik as Shumayll had taken many of the spaces

"Not exactly now... ammi and them have gone to shop for vegetables and fruits... then we start with cutting and chopping!" Explained Nabz

"And the best part is...." Iqra said smirking at me

"Iqraam bhai and Shumayll have agreed to help!!!" She squealed grinning devilishly

"What?" Shumayll almost choked on the bottle of water he was drinking from

"I never, never agreed to this!!" He whined

I gave him a thumbs up

"Majority of it is made by chefs- Muslim ones- so why the need for us?" I asked and Iqra grinned

"No- it's not.. my there will be minimum guests and it will not be liked those rich people- it will be simple!" Said Iqra smiling at us

"Oh that makes sense.... like you" said Shumayll absentmindedly

I stared at him

Who else noticed this?

I turned to Ruqayyah and she nodded

Guess that makes the two of us

We set there, chatting and talking until Ammi and the rest arrived

Soon the girls were in the grand kitchen, helping ammi while abba, Namaan, Shumayll and I were outside, preparing the block stove for the bigger pots

Ammi decoded she wanted at least 3 types of food so we decided on Biryani (obviously), Lamb curry and Chicken in sauce

The biryani was to be made by Loriza aunty (Shumayll's mother) as she insisted

Abba was adamant on making Lamb curry so ammi said okay

I have never tasted any of his coolings though excluding Thai dishes

And chicken in sauce was to be made by ammi, the best at it

I walked to my room with little Zahi in my arms

She wanted to do work, but while sticking to me

I set her on my huge bed and walked into my closet

Taking out some jeans and tees, I changed before heading back outside with Zahi tagging along

I walked into the kitchen to find ammi

I set Zahi on the counter as I opened the fridge looking for food

Finally I found Canterbury chocolate and I grinned

I never stocked my fridge with it coz Iqra will eat it all up in a day

I walked back to Zahi and she grinned

I handed her the chocolate and she giggled opening it all up

"Who on earth gave you that?" Asked a stern Ruqayyah walking to Zahi

Zahi turned to me and I chuckled

"I did and let her have it!"I said and she shook her head

"No because it's bad for health" she explained

I sighed

Putting my arms around Zahi, I grinned at Ruqayyah

"Just one and no more" I said and Ruqayyah sighed

"Fine- !" She said and began to walk away

She halted mind way and turned to me

"You are spoiling her, Iqraam" she said and I gave her a goofish grin

What can I say?

"She is a little warrior, Spiderman, to be exact... she saves world! Don't you Zahi?" I said turning my head to look at Zahi and Zahi nodded happily munching away on the bar

"Yes and spiderman is healthy!" Retorted Ruqayyah and I laughed

"She is my little chubby Spiderman!" I said and Zahi giggled

I hugged her shoulders tight and she laughed causing me to laugh

I let her go and stood straight

She kept up and kissed my cheeks

"I love you Iqraam uncle!!" She whispered and I smiled at her

She was the most adorable thing I ever saw

I heard laughter and my head snapped up

I had forgotten, in a spur of moment, that Ruqayyah was there

Ruqayyah, Nabz and Iqra laughed at me

I stared at them

"What's wrong?" I asked them and Iqra laughed louder

She walked away laughing and Nabz followed her out

I stared at Ruqayyah for an answer and she chuckled at me

She walked to me while tapping something on her phone

She held the phone in front of me with the selfies camera on

"I don't wanna take a selfies, you know" I said and Zahi laughed

"Mama, I wanna take a selfwie!" She said and Ruqayyah shook her head

"Its a no-" she said to Zahi and focussed on me "- it's not for selfie- look at your face"

I looked at my face and it seemed fine

She tsked and chuckled

"Your right cheek" she said and I turned my face right

"Your Right cheek, Iqraam,not left" she said and I chuckled

I turned my face left, and my right cheek had chocolate smeared all over it

How did it...

Zahi!

I turned to Zahi and she giggled hugging me

"Na'ah- let's wash your hands first!" Said Ruqayyah pulling her away from me to the sink

I walked towards the microwave and took out paper towels and wiped off the chocolate from my face

It still felt sticky though

"Wash your face and wipe it with the towel, it will be normal" she said and I washed my face on the second sink, splashing water all over my tees and the floor and perhaps on Ruqayyah

"Sorry!!!" I said and she nodded as she wiped off the water drops off her clothes

I picked up Zahi and we strode out of the kitchen grinning at each other

Abba called me outside and I left her to play with Zaik and Sohayll on the nursery

"Lets start cooking, shall we?" Asked abba and we nodded

Ya Allah please please please guide me to the right way...

I was at my lil sisters Islamic graduation... she started Quraan at the local mosque so there was a ceremony for the kids who went there to study...
Yahh....
So I updated...
Not long
