Chapter 16: Saved 6-11-16
Noah surfaced in the water, and swam behind one of the giant boulders as fast as he could. He thought that that should keep him a little safer from the harsh and powerful waves. But he found out it didn't because he got pushed still and ended up underwater again and could not find his way up. Noah struggled again for breath as he tried surfacing from the water again.
The water was really bumpy and choppy just like Robin had explained when they were at her house and Doyle's house. He wished they were there now instead of in the ocean about to drown or be eaten by a giant shark. The thought of dying on his favorite beach wasn't that great, so he tried thinking about something else. But even the next thought wasn't that positive.
He had always hated swimming in his shoes; it weighed him down quite a bit. Even though he didn't like it, he still was a fine swimmer anyway with or without the heaviness of them. Once he found his feet with his hands, he yanked each shoe off and let them fall down to the ocean floor. One day, his shoe was probably going to be home to some small fish of some kind.
Then finally Noah thought about something positive. If Robin where there, she could have told him a specific specimen of creature that would live inside it. And then rant on about every single creature that would live there for a long time. Then if Doyle where here, he would have told Noah not to give up and to keep going, so that's what Noah did. Not give up for a breath of fresh air. He wasn't a fish, but he could hold his breath for quite a while. But now he longed for a long breath of fresh clean air, instead of salty water down his lungs.
He finally did get a good breath, but realized that there was something strange. He then realized that he was being pulled by something fast. He could tell he was being pulled by the way his rope was being pulled around his waist. All he could see was wave after wave crashing down and felt himself being tugged through the water quickly. Noah thought it was probably Robin and Doyle saving him from the ocean's powerful waves.
All of a sudden he stopped and flew forward in the water, but stopped short. Trying to look back he said "Whoa!" Under water; which was a blast of bubbles and fizz that shout through the water. It was hard to see through the water since it was super salty, but Noah had had many wipeouts while surfing and pretty much had got use to the feeling of his eyes stinging. Noah was looking straight at the shark's pointy face. Why isn't he died? He thought. He stayed still and then saw something strange in the shark's mouth. He focused on what he saw closer and saw that the shark was holding onto Noah's rope. Then he looked down at himself, the rope was tied to his waist still. So the shark had been pulling him through the water. Did the shark save him? Noah wondered.
Then Noah looked around and noticed where he was. The shark had brought Noah to the shore of the small island that had the shark stuck in the area. The water was calmer in there since the boulders and island where blocking the giant waves out. So the shark had brought Noah to calmer waters, interesting. Noah thought.
Noah swam backwards toward where his feet could touch the sand of the shore. He succeeded and looked at the shark again; it was still sitting there not moving too much and just looking straight at Noah. It still had the rope in his powerful jaws too, which was a little nerve-racking since the shark could pull Noah anywhere, anytime.
"You should be free... and I should be died," Noah whispered to himself. Then he said it a little louder for the shark to hear. Even though he didn't speak shark. Maybe Robin could.
"You should go free! Go!" Noah waved his arms at the shark telling him to shoo.
The shark still stayed put looking towards Noah. So Noah repeated himself again louder. Then the shark pulled the rope a little and Noah began to treed water in from of the shark. At that moment, the shark let go of the rope and turned his body. After the shark moved for a minute into place, Noah was looking straight at the sharks giant fin. The shark had turned to his side.
"Oh no, he doesn't want me to get onto his fin does he?" Noah thought.
Only one way to find out, so Noah swam over to the shark and touched the shark's side. The shark didn't budge so Noah went for the fin and grabbed it slowly. Noah got into sitting position on the shark and held onto the fin. It was like riding a horse, only 1 million times the size of one, and it was slippery. As soon as he was on, the shark shot forward super fast. Noah held on for dear life shutting his eyes tightly.
Noah wasn't expecting this at all, but the shark jumped out of the water and over the tall boulders that had been keeping him inside of the tiny area. So the shark could have jumped over this entire time!? It all happened so fast, but still seemed like it was all happening in slow motion at the same time. Noah held on tighter to the shark's wet and slippery skin. Doyle and Robin must have seen all this. Had they spotted Noah on the sharks back? He wondered. Probably not, but he knew they saw the enormous shark.
Oh No! The shark was about to land on the other side now. Was he too big to get over those tall, bumpy boulders? Noah had many questions spinning though his brain. Then it all happened to fast, but the shark landed and that's the last thing Noah remembered.
