Jamie Arrives/Russian Intervention
The next day rolled around and everyone slowly woke up. I found myself sleeping up against Val, who was shirtless. I had to control my inner desires and calm my racing heart and flushed cheeks. No Goatman was going to get him. As I sat up, I saw Layna asleep with Gudas. Dani was also with them, curled up at their heads. If she had a mind to, she could kick them both but I knew and figured she wouldn't.
Kristin was missing from the group. I could hear her in the other room, talking with someone though. Chris was with her. Shannon and Kristina were talking with Robin and getting to know one another more. Jenna and Delia were talking as well. They were talking about Jonathan Toews and the Blackhawks.
As I got to my feet, Val stirred and blinked away. He grabbed me around the waist and pulled me back down to the couch.
"Val?" I questioned.
"No go. Like you here," he murmured and closed his eyes once more.
I sighed. "As much as I'd love to stay here curled up next to your sexyness...we have to find Tyler and save him."
He moaned and then said, "Fine. You right. I up, I up." He unhooked his hands from my waist and as he let them slide back, I shivered at the new feeling. Oh God, why? Why did Val (NOT Tyler) do this to me? I'd never been touched like that...and I liked it! I wanted more!
Val rubbed his eyes and then Chris, Kristin and the Dallas Stars captain entered the room. Jamie spotted Val on the couch with me and he shook his head.
"Oh Val, too young buddy."
"I no do it. Just sleep with her...in platonic way!" Val insisted, sitting up. "Promise. I use word right though right?" He cocked his head to the side.
"Yeah, you did," I purred. I nodded to Jamie, confirming nothing had happened.
The older man seemed to relax and then he asked, "So Tyler got kidnapped by a Goatman?"
Val nodded. "Big monster thing! It scary, I no like."
"I saw the footage. Who would've known...but I agree with your plan and I want to help. Tyler's my best friend and he's like a brother to me now, I care for him and I want him to be okay." Jamie wore a stern, serious look. He wouldn't take no for an answer and to be honest, it'd be nice having his help. I figured we wouldn't have Layna or Gudas' again.
"That's fine, you can help out," I remarked. "You're a good friend Jamie."
"Where other guys?" Val asked. "Dudes with beards."
"Trapper, Buck, Huckleberry and Jeff," I clarified, noticing that the AIMS team had vanished once more and Layna and Gudas were alone.
"They went outside to meet up with their two friends," Layna remarked. "And I think Gudas and I are going to go ahead and head on out of here. We'd like to get better acquainted with one another, if you know what I mean!"
"Oh, Layna," Dani and I sighed.
"Good luck with your search, and hope you find that media party hound," Layna said, laughing. "Peace out, guys!" With that, Layna grabbed Gudas' hand and they exited the room and I heard the sound of the front door closing behind them.
"I should get back to Chicago, it was a lovely party and I do hope Tyler is found. Such a talented young man, hate to hear he was abducted and killed," Delia commented and then dipped her head in farewell. "Good luck with the search and thanks for inviting me to the party." She vanished from the room and the house.
"I'm gonna head out too, I just have to get back and take care of some more things, since I just moved here to Dallas. But as the others said, good luck and thanks for inviting me. Find Tyler and save him for me too. I'd hate for him to die, give me good news tomorrow on Twitter and Tumblr, Evelyna," Jenna remarked.
"I'll see to it! We'll find him dead or alive somehow, you have my word. Hopefully alive." I nodded to her and then looked at the remaining people, while she bid everyone goodbye and then left the room and house. My eyes gradually found the trio sitting together of Shannon, Kristina and Robin. "You three are staying right?"
"Sure!" Shannon remarked. "We'd love to help out and find Tyler."
"Hey, I like all Dallas Stars, not just that Russian sweetheart," Robin remarked, nodding at Val, who smiled innocently.
I gave them an 'ok' hand gesture. "It's time you all met the wonderful marine of the AIMS team. He's pretty funny."
"Marine?" Val questioned, cocking his head. "Like army marine...or...?"
"A marine...what other marine do you know?" Jamie inquired, wrinkling his nose up in bewilderment at the Russian, who shrugged and gave Jamie a scolding look back.
"Alright, let's head outside and find out what sort of trap Willy and Bill have planned!" I exclaimed.
Shannon, Kristina, Robin, Kristin, Chris, Dani, Jamie, Val and I all left the house now and headed outside to where the AIMS crew was. A loud, echoing, "Hoorah!" greeted our ears as soon as we stepped into the bright sunny outdoors. We spotted the group near the treeline, near the entrance to the woods, where we'd entered last night.
"Hey there guys, just finished talking to Willy and Bill here about the incident last night and how there's a missing person involved," Trapper explained. "I let them know about everything. All the details from the party incident up until now."
"Thanks Trapper," I remarked.
I saw Jamie part from the group and go over to a log that was sticking out of the ground. He surveyed it curiously. "What's this?" Jamie asked.
"That's the start of the trap we're building," Willy exclaimed. "Well...kind of..."
Trapper, Huckleberry, Jeff, Buck, Shannon, Kristina and Robin all left, heading to another house a half a mile from where Kristin's property was to talk to another eyewitness. The remaining people stayed to survey the trap building and keep an eye on the woods for Tyler or the Goatman.
"Whoa there brother, back away from the uh, piece of wood, wouldn't want ya getting an ole splinter now, ya hear, bro," a slurred string of words came loudly from a man where a ball cap. The rather tall guy stomped through the grass toward him, wearing ratty worker jeans and black and brown army boots.
Jamie spun around and looked at him, cocking his head as he saw the guy who'd spoken make a weird hand gesture with an 'ok' sign.
"That's Wild Bill," I said to Val.
The Russian nodded and looked back at the proud marine and Jamie.
Wild Bill said something that was difficult to understand and slapped Jamie on the backside. The captain of the Dallas Stars flinched looking at him awkwardly. "How can anyone understand you?" he asked. "Articulate your words, bro!"
"Me and Bill's gonna start to get to work on this Goatman trap. Trapper's let me know that this monster can read minds and isn't afraid of humans, so me and Wild Bill's gonna design a trap that can catch this telepathic beast!" Willy stated to one of the cameramen to the side. He then turned and grabbed his trap-building partner. "This Goatman is dangerous and I do mean dangerous. And this creature's known to kill any critter out here, and I mean he goes after blood...heck, even human blood. He abducted Tyler Seguin, a human to feed on!"
"So this goat creature...Goatman is a vampire!" Wild Bill exclaimed. "He's out of control. And we need to put a stop to it! Heck, when I was a kid, every halloween I would dress up as ole, uh...old, uh, count dracula." He did his signature gesture. He then made a weird face, like he was sucking blood as a vampire and said, "Oh ho."
"Count Bill, huh?" Willy questioned, laughing.
"What the hell is going on?" Jamie moaned, hitting his forehead with his hand.
"Shhh, Bill's telling one of his stories!" I hissed at him.
Jamie shot me a questioning look and then pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I got the cape I put on, slicked the ole hair back, got the ole fangs in there...'how you doing this evening'?" Bill continued with his story.
"Okay, what I'm thinking is, we go with the old box maze trap," Willy said, grabbing a piece of paper from Kristin, who'd gotten it for him.
"This outta be interestin'," Bill remarked.
"If I can make a maze inside this box," Willy said, sketching his idea on a sheet of paper.
I saw Jamie try to peek over his shoulder, interested in the plan. "You know you're kind of like a hillbilly version of Fred from Scooby Doo, right?"
"The Goatman's got to go through that maze...and when he finds out where he is and when he gets to the bait, he'll set off the trigger and we'll have him inside the box!" Willy finished explaining.
"Ooh, I like it. And FYI Jamie, the traps are much more complex and cooler than in Scooby Doo!" I stated.
"This maze trap's gonna be ten feet wide and twenty feet long. It's got an entrance door and once the Goatman is in there, the maze will give us enough time for him get inside and get to the bait, setting off the trigger, which will shut the door," Willy further explained.
"Get him in there and get him miscombobulated," Bill said, doing his gesture again. "in there."
"Absolutely," Willy confirmed.
"It could get real interestin'," Bill chuckled.
"Before Bill and I start to build this trap, I need to really understand how this maze is gonna work," Willy remarked, looking at Kristin, who nodded. He then gently tapped his friend's arm and they walked up to their truck and opened the back up. They removed two lawn mowers from the back and wheeled them back to the group. "So me and Wild Bill's gonna take these lawn mowers and design it in this big field of grass. First thing we need to do Bill, is get us a ten by twenty cut out and rectangle shape in this yard and we'll cut our maze."
"Is that smart?" Jamie asked. "Won't the Goatman see it and figure it out? What if he's looking at us right now...oh God, we're never going to find Tyler!" He cupped his hands over his nose and mouth.
"Oh, Jamie, you can't think like that, we'll find Tyler, we promise," I said to him.
"But how can we...we all saw that beast, he's real and he has Tyler. He has my best friend and if everything about him is true, we don't have a chance." Jamie sniffled and rubbed one of his eyes. He was trying his best to stifle his emotions and not break out in tears.
Wild Bill and Willy were looking at the Dallas Star with a keen interest.
"Jamie, sweetie, you're making a scene," I told him.
Jamie paused and looked up with teary eyes. He blushed big time and whispered, "Sorry. Just don't wanna lose Tyler..." He choked up and sniffled again.
"Would you like to help build the trap, Jamie?" Willy asked, flashing him a kind smile. "Will that help take your mind off your friend and make you feel better?"
Jamie nodded. "Building a trap sounds cool!"
"Okay, you can help us out then," Willy remarked, letting go of his lawn mower and putting an arm around the Dallas captain, who finally smiled. "So, let's gets to work then, I need everyone to move out of the way, especially since Wild Bill can be a little wild, you know."
"Let me get my ride pulled up in here, brother!" Wild Bill said, before he walked back up to his lawn mower. "That's my old two top notch ones right there..." He launched into some slurred words that no one understood, all while doing his hand gesture. Again.
"How you understand him? I easier to understand than that?" Val commented.
"That's uh..." Willy remarked, unable to form words.
Wild Bill yanked the chain to the mower and got it running. Then he launched off and created the design, all while goofing off. Jamie joined him, helping out. And by the end, the maze was created and Bill and Jamie shouted out, "Hoorah!"
"I got the maze laid out. I got all my measurements," Willy stated, measuring the model maze with measuring tape. "Ten foot there, alright," he spoke as he wrote down the measurements on a piece of paper, attached to a clipboard. "Now let's measure this first entrance wall."
Bill and Willy went over to where that would be in the field. "Four foot," Willy commented and wrote that down, before he turned to a camera person and told them, "So the next step is finding the right spot for me and Bill to start to build this trap."
"Let's get 'er done bro!" Jamie stated, doing the hand gesture and grinning stupidly.
Wild Bill sent him a nod. "Well spoken, Jamie. Like a true, uh, marine!"
Before long the others returned with more evidence and information, which they shared with us. Then we all went to the woods again, before noon time came to look for a good spot and figure out the trap logistics.
Luckily it didn't take long to find a spot. We found a nice area under the trees, a "critter four-lane" as Wild Bill called it that was perfectly hollowed out between the two properties - Kristin's and the "second" eyewitness - to set it up. Willy marked the area, so they could return later on and get to work building the actual trap, which Jamie would help with.
And...I swore Jamie Benn with slowly becoming more and more like a part of the AIMS team. It was almost scary.
