Clothing, eight books and I lost count of all the wands

Crowded.

That was the only word I could use to describe the Diagon Alley.

We had about a month 'till the Hogwarts year started, and Marie shadow-traveled us to the place, while Lupa was trying to find out is we had any wizarding relatives. But for starters, we had to buy the stuff we needed for school.

Anyways, once we got there we couldn't really see past the sea of wizards that crowded the Diagon Alley. After I got over my initial shock, I took a deep breath and read the supply list one more time.

PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICKS."

"We should get the uniforms first," Lyx snapped me out of my thoughts. "Those are supposed to take the longest."

I groaned. I absolutely despise clothes shopping. You always have to stay still for an undetermined amount of time while the staff takes your measurements. I'm ADHD, how in Poseidon's underwear am I supposed to do that?

"C'mon, Jade, it won't be that bad," Marie tried to reassure me.

"As much as I hate it, we have to, even if I know your feeling," Lyx joined.

I sighed. "Fine," I spat out, then grumbled. "Might as well get this over with..."

We slipped through the crowd of wizards dressed in colorful robes and managed to find a shop called  "Madam Malkin's Robes for all Occasions".

"This must be it, right?" Marie asked fiddling with the dyed dark pink tips of her hair.

"Yeah, probably," I replied.

We entered the shop and a woman in a dark purple robe - which I assume was Madam Malkin - greeted us.

"Hello, girls."

"Good morning ma'am," I said. "Is there any chance we could buy our Hogwarts robes here?

"Oh, of course!" she gestured us to sit on some spare stools and got on got taking our measurements.

After we got our robes, I left a few galleons -which Lupa gave us (siriusly, how did she know one day we'd need them?)-  on the counter and exited the shop, going to search for books.

After we bought pretty much everything we needed for school, we went to get the only thing that was left - a wand.

We saw a lot of kids our age coming with long boxes from the same direction, so we went to see where were they coming from, and found (surprise!) another shop. This one had a wooden sign with a image in the middle. The image represented a bunch of strings and a feather creating an X, with a unicorn's head covering the place where they crossed. Around the symbol it read:

OLLIVANDER'S
MAKERS OF FINE

WANDS

SINCE 382 B.C.

"So, what are we waiting for?" came Lyx's voice. "Let's go in."

We entered and saw an old man dusting the wand boxes. After a few seconds he faced us and spoke.

"Ah, three beautiful young ladies. You must be here for your first wands." We nodded. "Well why don't you come first?" he asked looking at Marie. Said girl stepped forward in front of the man's desk. "Dominant hand," said the man (who I assume is Ollivander) as the brownish black and dark pink haired female raised her left hand.

Ollivander took a wand out of a box from one of the shelves and handed it to her. "10 inches, quiet flexible, ebony wood with a dragon heartstring core. Give it a wave."

She did as asked and a lot of the papers on the desk flew in all directions. When she stopped Ollivander carefully took the wand from her mumbling something about it not being right.

The same process repeated for the next five wands.

Narrowing his eyes, the man carefully handed Marie another wand. "12 ½ inches, rigid, cherry wood with a unicorn hair core. Try it out."

She waved the wand and the shadows in the room bent towards her. Ollivander hummed in agreement. "This is the wand suited for you." Marie put the wand in its box and took it.

Basically the same happened with Lyx, only her wand was the fourth she tried out - 10 ⅖ inches, in between rigid and flexible, aspen wood with a dragon heartstring core. Then it came my turn.

I stepped forward and raised my right hand (even though I'm ambidextrous), as the man handed me a wand... Let's just say it took some time...

--------------------Around 20 or more wands later--------------------------

"11 ⅓ inches, flexible, blackthorn wood with a phoenix feather core. God please be the right one," came Ollivander's exasperated voice, and I'm not judging him since I'm the one trying these wands.

I waved the wand and a scent of sea water filled the room, signaling this is the one. I took the wand's box and payed for the wands, then the girls and I left the shop.

Let's see if Lupa found any of our relatives.
