The Prophecy Of Four; Chapter One

Hiccup's Pov

Above is his theme song.

Hiccup was working in the black smith, pounding with his hammer on a large battle axe. Hiccup yelped when his hand accidentally brushed the hot metal, and he waved it in the air to cool down. Hiccup swore in Norse while he stretched. It was a long day at the shop.

Hiccup left, heading for his home. A few torches illuminated the area on his way to his house. Hiccup shivered a bit in the cold. He kept walking, suddenly feeling chilled. And not the being cold kind. Something's wrong. He thought, turning for a moment. Hiccup shrugged, and opened the door to his house. He was about to close it, when something thumped against the wall of his house.

Hiccup furrowed his brow, and peered out the door. That was weird. He turned, but all the sudden, a loud bark sounded. Before he could turn back around, sharp teeth closed around the back of his shirt, and tossed him aside.

Hiccup hit the ground, feeling a stinging sensation in his chin as it thumped the ground. Hiccup rubbed his head, before a paw reached out, clubbing him on the side. Hiccup fished for his knife, holding it out blindly in the dark.

A large dark animal jumped through the darkness, his body connecting with Hiccup's chest. They both tumbled, dirt flying in clouds in the air. Hiccup slashed his knife across the canine-like monster's side, making gold blood pool onto the ground. He gasped, catching his breath. The animal whined, but jumped at him again.

It's teeth gnashed, aimed for Hiccup's throat. Before it hit it's mark, a frying pan suddenly hit it in the head, stunning it. The confused animal turned around, and Hiccup plunged his knife into the creature's stomach. It howled, and gold dust exploded everywhere, staining Hiccup's clothes and face.

Wiping the gold off his face, he looked around for his savior. A young girl was standing next to a torch. She had long blonde hair, and by long, really long. It was put in a large braid, barely touching the ground. And it was glowing. Hiccup jumped in shock. She had green eyes, and she was holding a frying pan.

The girl held out a hand. "Hello, Hiccup Haddock. I'm here to help you." "How do you know my name?" Hiccup asked, confused. "And why's your hair glowing?" The girl held out her hands. "I'll explain everything. Follow me."

The girl, revealing her name as Rapunzel Corona, approached a large black shape in the dark. Hiccup followed her, the girl's hair illuminated the path. When she went closer, the black shape was shown. It was a giant, mechanical dragon.

"So, you're telling me, the gods are real, and I'm the son of one. You are too, and you're the daughter of...Apollo?" "In a nutshell, yes." Rapunzel replied, going to the dragon. It opened it's green eyes, and hissed. Hiccup stayed far enough away from it. "And why should I believe you?" Hiccup asked.

"Because it's true. We're going to a place where you'll be safe, called Camp Half-Blood. That monster that attacked you is called a hellhound, and it hunts you because of your scent. Now-" Rapunzel stepped back from the dragon. "Make it work."

"What?" Hiccup asked, his mouth dropping open. "This dragon's name is Toothless. And I suspect you have a way with machines, considering you work in a blacksmith all day. It won't listen to me that much. I was lucky to get here. Now, can you make it work?"

Hiccup crossed his arms. "You're first telling me, that I'm a demigod, we need to go to a camp, and now you need me to fix this giant dragon that'll possibly eat me if I get close?" Rapunzel clapped her hands excitedly. "Yes! Exactly! You catch on pretty fast."

Hiccup held up his hands. "This is too much. You can't be serious about this." The bubbly girl turned, her eyes sharp. "Hiccup Haddock, I can guarantee, for the twenty minutes you've known me, you think I would lie about such a thing?" The way she looked at him made Hiccup skittish. "No, probably not." Rapunzel smiled. "Good. Go on now."

Hiccup stared at the dragon. It's green eyes observed him with intelligence, and he heard some gears whir. The dragon didn't move as Hiccup approached carefully. It opened it's mouth widely, and Hiccup jumped back. But the dragon didn't flame. Hiccup came closer. A gear was lodged in it's teeth, making sparks every time the dragon moved. Hiccup simply plucked the gear out, tossing it aside.

He heard Rapunzel snort. "Was it really that simple?" The dragon suddenly grabbed Hiccup, and hugged him. He felt the warm metal pressing up against him. "Uh..." Hiccup felt awkward. "Excellent!" Rapunzel cried, hopping excitedly towards Toothless. She climbed into a saddle, and motioned for Hiccup to climb on.

Hiccup followed, and Rapunzel took some reins. "Wanna drive?" She asked cheerfully, and Hiccup shyly took the reins. "Oh, um okay." Before Hiccup could say anything, Toothless pushed off the ground, flying into the starry night. He screamed in terror as Rapunzel laughed. Hiccup saw his home town. Would he ever see it again?

"Camp Half-Blood, here we come!" Rapunzel shouted.
