Pirate AU (Pt. 2)

Jackson looked confused. "Why would I tell you? Di Angelo says you're the cruelest pirate roaming the seas."

Chase laughed. "Ah, it's like Nico to flatter me. Intimidation, Jackson. It would do you well to learn when you come part of the crew."

Jackson looked angry. "Why would I join?! That scoundrel killed my crew!" Chase ignored him.

"I suggest you join. He can be quite brutal. Mostly to his enemies, but he has a soft spot. Have you met his sister?" Jackson bitterly nodded.

"Yes. He would give his life for her. She's really nice, when she's not in her profession."

Jackson only shook his shackles, ignoring her. "Look at me, Jackson." He didn't look at her. Chase reached through the bars, and grabbed his chin, to look at her. "What do you want?" He said, pulling away.

Chase smiled, pulling her hand back. "Di Angelo wants you on his crew. And I want information. And gold."

Jackson looked down, still struggling. "He killed my crew. He nearly did to my good friend, Grover. He was lucky to get out alive."

Chase was interested. "I thought Di Angelo said all were killed." Jackson shifted, his green eyes narrowed. "He left before the battle. He's injured, and floating somewhere out there. I hope he's alright."

Chase dipped her head. "My condolences. Do you have another name, besides Jackson, of course?" Jackson rolls his eyes. "Why would I tell you?"

Chase leaned back, amused. "Let's reveal one secret. Take turns, ya know? Did Di Angelo tell you my name?" Jackson shook his head. "Excellent. I'll tell you my name, and you tell me yours."

Jackson stared for a long time at her. "Perseus. Perseus Jackson. I prefer Percy." Chase smiled. "Annabeth Chase. Newest captain of the Andromeda."

Jackson raised an eyebrow. "Newest? What do you mean by that?"

Chase tapped her chin. "That's a secret. I'm gonna need one from you to keep it even." Jackson chuckled, but still seemed to be on guard.

"I have a friend back home. Her name is Thalia. And she's expecting me. I miss her, and she's one of my best friends. And I remember her mentioning another best friend. Family, remember? You promised...?" Jackson pursed his lips, raising an eyebrow.

Chase paled, caught off guard. "How can you..?" Her eyes grew cloudy, and she reaches through the bars, her hand clutching his throat. "How dare you!" She said. Jackson was silent, though his face was slightly purple.

Chase let go, and he gasped for breath. Chase swallowed, and was about to leave when Jackson coughed. "You didn't tell me your secret." Chase turned around, her gray eyes meeting his green ones.

"Why do you care?" She said, struggling to keep her voice even. No weaknesses. None at all. That was her rule. "I want to know. Where'd you get the Andromeda? You promised to tell me."

Chase clenched her fists. "My old friend Luke. He passed, and I don't want to talk about it. Now if you'll excuse me, I-"

Yelling came from above deck. Chase cursed under her breath. "Di Angelo!" Chase turned to Jackson, and opened the door. Before he could say anything, she cut the shackles. "Run if you know what's good for you." She ran up the stairs, ignoring the yells of Jackson.

Chase saw her crew mates attacking. Di Angelo's had already begun trying to break into her office. Luckily, they seem to have dispatched a few. Chase pulled out her swords, and clashed with Di Angelo.

"Di Angelo! You snake!" Chase dodged a stab. Di Angelo smiled. "I knew yer were on to me. So I improvised. All crew mates are on your ship."

Chase saw La Rue being punched hard in the jaw. Piper and Grace were fighting back to back.

Chase quickly dodged again, and swung her sword. He parried, and soon they were in a full out battle. Chase had to concentrate, and then Di Angelo jumped back.

Surprised, Chase saw Jackson swinging a stray sword at Di Angelo. Di Angelo growled, and then fell back. He yelled "We got what we need, lads! Fall back!"

His crew jumped back onto his ship, and Di Angelo waved. "Good bye, Chase. It was fun to know you." And then, Chase was thrown off his ship, along with Jackson. She hit it hard, and felt dizzy.

Chase groaned, rubbing her head as the Ghost Wielder turned away. Jackson sat up, still holding the sword. Chase stood, and saw her grumbling crew. McLean came forward, supporting a black eye.

"Damage report?" Chase asked, rubbing her sore hip. "Rather bad, captain." "How many things stolen?" "Estimated to be at least a little more than half."

Chase looked at Jackson, who was now standing. "You want to be part of the crew?"

Jackson hesitated. "Why did you cut me loose?" Chase sighed. "Are we gonna go on all day about how I saved your arse, or are you gonna be part of this?"

Jackson stayed silent, and then nodded. "I'll return the favor."

Chase grinned. "Alright. Set a course for Di Angelo. Any good news?"

Zhang suddenly ran forward, panting. "Good news, captain. Hazel Levesque has been captured." Chase patted Zhang on the back. "Very good. We'll start with that."

Chase looked to the horizon. "Jackson...welcome to the Andromeda."
