Pirate AU (Pt. 1)
Captain Chase leaned on the side of her ship, the Andromeda. It was given to her by an old friend, named Luke Castellan. He had passed, so the ship became hers.
Chase then stood, and heard a loud boom. Di Angelo was arriving. She turned to her crew, and started yelling orders:
"La Rue! To the mast! Grace, stay by the wheel! Zhang, how many times have I told you not to start anything with Valdez!" "Sorry, captain." "Valdez, to the gunnery! I don't trust Di Angelo entirely, even to this day."
A lot of 'aye captain' rang out, and Captain Chase did a satisfied hum.
She went into her office. Her first mate, McLean, stood dutifully at the front. "'Ello, captain. You seem rather angry today." "Not now, Piper."
Chase ran a finger across her desk, and then the gold telescope she had (proudly) stolen from the first ship she had plundered. It glowed when a switch was flipped, and though it was but a trinket, Chase was very sentimental about it.
Piper sighed, leaning against the wall. Chase's office was decorated with maps, classifications, and other items. Also, many of her war prizes dotted the walls, and Chase's chambers contained more prizes, but no one was allowed in there.
Chase sat behind her desk, and leaned her feet on it. "Di Angelo is a snake, and there was many a time where he has taken out many of his allies. But he's valuable. We share plunder, and if new crew mates. I have the sneaking suspicion he's gotta plan. Any ideas, Piper?"
Piper shrugged. She was very pretty. She had light brown skin, and wore a simple skirt and blouse, but she still stood out among the crew. Piper looked back at Chase. "Annabeth, this may seem a little different, but I say just to let it happen. I mean, wait for him to make a move, and once the little scoundrel does, have yer own plan. Just be ready to fight back." Chase grunted. "I trust ye McLean, but I would be careful. Di Angelo always has something up his sleeve."
Chase then stood, and went to the doors of her chambers. She turned back to McLean for a moment. "Have some of the crew waiting here when we board the Ghost Wielder. Have most of them guard my office." Piper nodded. "Aye, captain. Also, relax a bit Annabeth. Anxiety doesn't suit you."
Annabeth Chase smiled, rather softly. And then she opened the door, and went inside. Most of her chambers had many trinkets, chests, and maps to decipher. Her bed sat in the corner, and Chase changed for the occasion. She only saw Di Angelo every two months, and decided to at least be a little dressed. Chase changed into a pair of brown trousers, and a white shirt. She put on a black hat, wrapped a red sash around her waist, and carefully touched her golden earing. Piper had pierced her ears herself, and Chase wore it as another war prize. Chase grabbed dual swords, and placed them in sheaths at her side.
Chase walked out, and gestured for Piper to follow. Chase came to the side of her ship, and saw the Ghost Wielder approach the deck. Her crew seemed to tense up.
Chase ordered McLean and Zhang by her side.
Piper quickly kissed her boyfriend, Grace, on the cheek before joining her.
Zhang looked hard at the ship. He was very large, and Chase had found him in the East. He was a good crew mate, and was excellent at archery. He wore a simple vest and trousers.
A board promptly was placed between the ships, and Chase walked carefully across. Soon, Zhang and McLean followed her.
Chase was noisily greeted by some of Di Angelo's crew mates. She only stiffly nodded to them, and then made her way over to Di Angelo's office.
Chase opened the door. Di Angelo was seated behind a desk. He only half-smiled. Di Angelo was certainly odd. He had black hair, black eyes, and pale skin. He wore black clothing, and everything he decorated tended to be black. Over all, Di Angelo was a very dark person. Alongside him in his office were two people.
Chase knew one of them. Di Angelo's half sister, Hazel Levesque. She was quite different from Di Angelo. She had brown skin, curly brown hair, and bright gold eyes. She wore a purple garb that she had stolen from a royal. Many say that Levesque was rather ruthless, and she mainly stole horses. Di Angelo has often complained about the amount downstairs. The other Chase didn't know. He had curly, light blond hair, with bright blue eyes. He looked at Di Angelo fondly, and Chase smirked.
Di Angelo nodded. "How are you, Annabeth?" Chase sat comfortably on the sofa, while Zhang and McLean stood by the door. "I'm doing well, Di Angelo. Who's this?" She asked, gesturing to the blond haired boy. "Of course, where are my manners? I know you've already met my sister."
Levesque nodded her head. "This is my newest crew member. Meet Will Solace." Solace smiled brightly, and Chase raised an eyebrow. "Where'd you get him? He seems...you're type." Chase said playfully.
Di Angelo rolled her eyes. "Don't even start Chase." Solace looked surprised. "Anyway," said Di Angelo. "I've got something to show you." Levesque then spoke. "Are you sure we should show her, Nico?" Di Angelo looked at his sister. "If anyone can break him, Chase can."
Chase rubbed her hands together. "How nice. A new prisoner." She turned towards Zhang and McLean. "Relax, mates. Make friends." Chase gave McLean a look, and she nodded.
Chase followed Di Angelo to the makeshift prison. Every so often, Di Angelo would capture one of the crew mates from a ship. Either he would become part of his crew, or they would be tossed over board.
A boy was sitting in the cell. He had sea green eyes, and black hair. But his face was bruised and cut, and his wrists were shackled behind him.
Chase put a hand on her hip as she watched him.
"Did you get anything out of him?" Di Angelo's eyes flickered from her to the boy. "Only his name. Jackson. Won't reveal his first name. I got him from a ship that was alone, and rather vulnerable. He put up a good fight. The rest of the crew members are dead. Tried to interrogate him using force. Didn't work. Even Hazel got in a few hits, and he wouldn't budge."
Chase stared at him, and Jackson stared defiantly back. Chase turned to Di Angelo. "I got this. Round up my spoils. My crew mates have your share of gold." Di Angelo grinned. "Pleasure doing business with you, Chase." She nodded stiffly, and Di Angelo left.
Chase turned back to Jackson, and pulled up a chair, to sit in front of him.
"Tell me about yourself, Jackson. I'm all ears."
