Demigods At Hogwarts (Percabeth)
Percy pulled on his quidditch robes. He had a match versus Ravenclaw today, and Gryffindor was behind on points. He'd have to be a good captain, and a good seeker.
He cleared his throat for his teammates. They all looked up, excited. His chasers were kids named Jason Grace, a blond haired boy with glasses, Rachel Dare, a redhead who had paint stains on her face, and a brown haired girl named Calypso. His keeper was a girl named Hazel.
His beaters, Travis and Connor Stoll, had enthusiasm plastered all over their faces. Percy leaned on his broom.
"Today, we are going against Ravenclaw. They're smart. They're tactical. They know all the rules of the game. But you see, they don't have what we have. Bravery. Strength. A will to win." His team whooped. "So," he shouted. "Gryffindor will win! Ravenclaw's got nothing on us!"
Everybody cheered. They all got ready to leave the locker room, and Percy grinned. His best friend Jason clapped him on the back. "Go get em, Percy."
Percy walked out the door, his team following. Coach Hedge, the gym teacher for Hogwarts, was yelling out rules for the game to the annoyed Ravenclaw team. Coach Hedge then grabbed Percy by his robes.
"Shake hands with the Ravenclaw team captain! She's over there!" Coach Hedge yelled. Percy nodded, and walked over. His eyes widened.
The Ravenclaw team captain was standing there, talking with a black haired girl Percy recognized as Reyna.
The girl had curly blond hair, and stormy gray eyes. Her blue robes revealed her last name as Chase. She was really pretty. She leaned on her broom, seeming casual.
The captain saw Percy, and grinned. "You must be Percy. I'm Annabeth." She held out a hand to him.
Percy nodded a greeting, shaking her hand. He saw Annabeth before. She was with him in class one day, and Percy accidentally cast a spell which dropped sea weed on his head. She'd been one of the girls who called him seaweed brain.
Percy grinned. "Prepare to eat dirt, Wise girl." Annabeth blinked in surprise, and then smiled mischievously. "Don't count on it, Seaweed Brain."
"Mount your brooms!" Bellowed Coach Hedge.
Annabeth waved, before getting on her broom and kicking off.
Percy did the same, and Coach Hedge blew a whistle, and threw the quaffle in the air.
Percy immediately began to search for the snitch. Just a small glint of gold. He heard someone score, and to his disappointment, it was Ravenclaw.
He continued looking, and saw Annabeth. She was searching. Huh. So she was a seeker too. He saw Calypso zoom past him with the quaffle. It distracted him for a moment, and then he saw Annabeth zoom forward.
Percy zoomed after her, the wind blowing through his hair. Annabeth raced towards the stands, her broom going super fast. Percy struggled to keep up, and without warning, Annabeth zoomed to the side.
Percy saw a glint of gold she was after. He raced, and then soon he was neck to neck with Annabeth. Annabeth turned, and laughed. "Good luck seaweed brain."
She went to the side after the snitch, and Percy went forward. Soon, the snitch was close enough to grasp. He reached out a hand, and then something hit him hard. His broom went down, nosediving towards the ground.
Percy pulled up hard, but not fast enough. The tip of his broom skidded on the ground, and he spun out of control. He landed, sprawled on the ground.
Gasping, he wiggled his fingers and toes. Nothing seemed to be broken.
He sat up, and saw Annabeth land on the ground and run towards him.
"Percy!" She said, surprised. "Are you alright? You hit the stands hard!"
Percy smiled as his somewhat dizzy eyes focused on her face. "Uh, yeah. I-I think."
Annabeth grinned. "Good." She pulled her hand out from behind her back, and in her fingers, was a struggling snitch.
He saw his teammates groan as the other Ravenclaws cheered.
Annabeth laughed, and held out a hand. Percy took it, and she hauled him up.
She tapped her chin, holding her broom tightly in the other hand.
"I like you, Percy. It's good to have a team player." She slung her broom across her shoulders.
"I'd like to get to know you." Percy looked dumbfounded. "Uh, m-me too."
Annabeth beamed. "Great, it's a deal. I'll meet you at the Three Broomsticks tomorrow."
Percy was still trying to comprehend what just happened. Annabeth jogged back to her teammates, who were laughing and clapping her on the back.
Percy chuckled, and grabbed his broom. He joined Jason in the walk back to the locker rooms. Maybe the game wasn't a total lost.
