"Good morning, Yuki. Still sleepy I suppose." Shigure Sohma, the zodiac animal representation of the dog, says. Kyo walks into the kitchen, and alarmed by Yuki's staggering. Yuki is the zodiac animal of the rat and Kyo is the cat. They don't get along well, but one thing kept them from burning down the house. Torhu, a orphan girl whose mom died 2 years ago and dad died when she was little. Yuki and Kyo walk into her room to get her up to give her breakfast, for it's her birthday. When they got there, however, she was gone. Yuki saw a note on her pillow. It read

      Dear friends of Torhu

We have taken orphan Toru to the thing called the gate. If you want her you must come to the gate to her her. The gate will open 1 hour as soon as you read this. I will warn you that this may be a trap. If you do not come soon, we will torture her until she comes. We intend to keep showing her the picture of her mother, just out of reach, then smashing it, them burning it. We have many pictures of her mom.

Kyo freaked out and started swearing. Yuki just stood there. Shigure came up to see what the ruckus was about. He pried the letter from Yuki's hand. When he read it, he ran down to the phone and called everyone. Kyo climbed up on the rooftop and saw a orange dot in the sky coming down towards the park. Something told him that he needed to go. Kyo climbed of the roof and told Yuki. He snapped out of his shock and the two of them went downstairs. When they got there, everyone but Kisa was there. Yuki asked where Kisa is. His answer was a note that was the same as Torhu. Kyo told them what he saw and 9 zodiac animals walked out to the park. Along the way they ran into Arisa and Saki. Yuki told them what happened and they freak out and run to the park, ready to beat up anybody who was involved in taking Torhu. When they reach the park they see a dragon. On his back is a boy and a duck. They don't question anything, they all just hop on his back. In the sky, though, Kyo and Yuki start to fight.
