Chapter 5: The Capitol
Hiccup
Jack, Merida, Rapunzel and I stared out the window to see a gigantic crowd of Capitol people. They were cheering and screaming. Merida held her straight face, Jack and Rapunzel only stared, but I just watched then scream for us.
"This is ridiculous!" Toothiana shouted from behind us.
The first question that popped into my head was When did she get here?
Toothiana led us and our mentors out if the train and into an elevator.
"I guess we're going to meet the other tributes sooner than I predicted." I thought.
"Hey, you okay, Hiccup?" Merida asked.
"I'm fine. I'm just thinking of how the other tributes are like." I said.
As soon as we reached the top floor, Toothiana showed us everything.
"Since you 4 are District 12, you get the penthouse. Everyone has their own room, of course. There's also a greenhouse for relaxing by the plants. We will now have lunch in the lovely dining room and then, everyone will meet their designer." she explained.
"A designer?" Merida asked.
"The person that will make all of you look stunning," she said.
I forgot about the designer. He/She is the one that makes all of our outfits. From the carriage to the interview, and even the arena clothes.
Toothiana led us to lunch. I just poked at the food that was in front of me.
"You aren't eating, darling," Toothiana said.
"I had a big breakfast. I'm not hungry." I said.
I got up from the table. "Excuse me," I said to be polite and I left the room. I ran upstairs to the roof of the building. I sat on the railing and looked at the city from above. I heard steps from behind me and I turned around to see Merida.
She sat next to me and we just sat there.
"What's really bothering you, Hiccup?" she finally said.
She knew this side of me when my mom died. Merida was the only person other than my dad, who knew this side of me.
"Are you thinking about the arena?" she asked.
I just pulled up knees up to my chest.
"It's fine if you are. I'm not going to fight you. I could never fight you guys." she said.
I looked up to see her big blue eyes. She smiled and got down from the railing. She held her hand out to me.
"Come on, Hiccup. Let's go back to the others," she said.
I took her hand and I got up.
I only wonder how this is going to end up in the end.
