I'm back! This was requested by @ashie3242. Hope you enjoy! It's got a hint of Natsu x reader, but for the most part it is Zeref x reader.

You were part of the guild Fairy Tail, taking part in the S-class tournament. You were a dragon slayer, an (element) dragon slayer to be exact. Your exceed partner, (E/N), was along side you as your partner for this. You were determined to win and become a S-class mage, just like Natsu. You two had a bit of a rivalry, but were great friends all the same.

Currently, you were on Tenrou Island, taking a path that seemed to be a safe one so far. You were actually quite bored with it and had wished that you had at least run into Mira...but you would have liked to fight Erza instead. She had beaten you too many times, and you wanted to finally return the favor.

"AUG!" You yelled. "We chose an easy path!"

"Don't be so mad, (Y/N)," (E/N) said. "This way we can stay in the game for longer!"

"I don't really wanna," You mumbled. "I mean, I wanna stay in, but this is about showing your strength. I can't really do that when I've got nobody to fight."

"You're just like Natsu..." (E/N) smirked. "You're so alike it's a wonder that you're not together!"

Your eyes widened. "(E/N), I've told you before, I see Natsu as a brother! It would be really weird if we were together! Like...I don't know...like Mira and Elfman getting together!"

"EEEEEEEEWWWWW!" You both yelled, you disgusted by your own comment.

"That's gross, (Y/N)!" (E/N) shouted to you.

"IT'S YOUR FAULT THAT I SAID IT!" You yelled.

"HOW IS IT MY FAULT-? HEY, LOOK!"

You turned around to see not far away a man in black, lying down against a dead tree. All of the plant life around him was dead too. You frowned. "Who's he?" You asked (E/N).

"Who cares? He looks hurt! We should help!"

You nodded and ran off towards him. Once you got over to him, you knelt down and tried to get a closer look at him. His hair was dark black, and skin pale. He looked ill, and it worried you. "Uh, sir? You alright?" You asked, shaking his arm.

His eyes slowly opened to reveal dark black eyes that matched his hair. He looked over to you, and quickly backed away. "P-please! S-stay away! I-I-I-!"

"Hey, woah, calm down!" You said, holding up your arms in surrender. "I'm not gonna hurt you! Just...calm down!"

He shook his head. "N-no. You have to get away. This magic...it could kill you!"

You smiled lightly. "I'm too stubborn to die. Besides, I can't just leave you here. You look sick." He gave you a curious look. "My name is (Y/N). What's yours?"

He looked at you, hesitant, before replying, "...Zeref."

"Zeref-?" Your eyes widened. The...dark lord Zeref?

"You're afraid of me." Zeref looked away.

"N-no-"

"You are. I can see it in your eyes. Please, leave, before you get hurt. I don't want to hurt you, (Y/N)."

You frowned. "Well, I don't care who you are. Right now, you need some help, and I'm not just going to leave you."

"I-I might kill you! Please, listen to me!"

You shook your head. "Nope. Not leaving."

"You-" Zeref cut himself off, and his eyes widened. Blackness slowly started to form around him. "Get away!" He screamed.

Is this...death magic? You thought. It's controlled by his emotions, I think. If he calms down, then... Your mind made up, you walked forward and wrapped your arms around him in a hug.

"(Y-Y/N)?" Zeref asked. "W-what are you doing? Run!"

You shook your head. "No way. You just need to calm down, Zeref."

Zeref was quiet for a moment, before he managed to relax and the death-like aura that was around him slowly started to disappear. You stayed that way, though, and continued to hug him. "Wh-what is this?" He asked.

You raised an eyebrow. "A hug?" You said, though it came out as more of a question.

"Hug," Zeref slowly wrapped his arms around you. "I think...I think Mavis gave me one of these before."

"Mavis?" You asked. "Master Mavis? Of Fairy Tail?"

Zeref nodded. "Mavis. You remind me of her."

You smiled. "That's good, I guess."

"(Y-Y/N)?"

"Yes?"

"C-could I stay with you for a while?"

Your eyes widened for a moment, before pulling out of the hug and nodded. "Alright."

Zeref smiled and hugged you again, making you blush a bit. For a few moments, you stayed like that, until of course (E/N) had to ruin it with his teachings from Happy.

"YOU LIIIIIIIIIIIIKE HIM!"
