Pig's fighting philosophies-he who fights like a pillar
So, this is basically going to be a mini-series where I talk about different topics relevant to sword or (maybe) hand-to-hand combat. This chapter is focusing on a quote from a book:
"He who fights like a pillar is defeated, he who fights like a reed in the wind is victorious."
I think that's how it goes, anyways.
But what this quote is telling us is a basic principle that you probably already know, from playing any sport. Your coach has probably told you something similar: "follow the ball."
Both of these things are pretty much the same. If you just stand there, and never move, you're gonna lose. If you move around, though, you can reposition yourself underneath the ball, or so that your sword deflects the other sword.
I always try to remember this basic knowledge, whenever I play badminton. I constantly have to remind myself that I should move. Lately, however, I am getting better. And that proves that practice does indeed make perfect. Wait, but I thought there was no such thing as perfect...
Well, we'll solve this conundrum later. For now, I have to sign off.
Bye!
-Pig
