I just want to say that this is my opinion, and if you have any other genre ideas, I'd love to hear them in the comments section!

Okay, so first of all, I feel like Wattpad should let you choose more than one genre. What if you have a mystery story, but it takes place in a fantasy world? What if you feel like you have enough romantic elements to call it a romance story as well?

Now, onto the actual genres:

Steampunk

I'm currently writing a steampunk book, but I might not publish it unless I know what category to put it in. If you know, please comment. If you think you might have an idea, comment that, too. Thanks!

Informative

I think you all know what I'm talking about here. The countless books about how to write your stories better, all of the cliché plots that you should avoid, stuff like that. I think it's unfair that all of those really useful books have to be shoved into the "Random" category, just because they don't fit anywhere else.

Mythology

I like myths. They're great. I think Wattpad should make it a genre. Whether you're writing your own myths, or copying down ancient beliefs, I think you should be able to put them in their own category.

Music

Believe it or not, I actually write some kinda-lame songs on Wattpad. I have a book called "Songz" that nobody has ever read (okay, so I'm whining a bit. But still), and I think that maybe people might find it if it was in a musical category instead of Poetry or Random or whatever genre I put it in.
