Closer

I walked the streets,

With no direction.

Til I became hungry,

Craved for muffins.

Walked quick,

To AJ's booth.

Wished to fill my belly,

And my eyes too.

Because I knew,

Gyn was there.

I have to try hard,

Not to stare.

I pretend to fall in line,

Mind my own business.

But too late,

My eyes glued to her face.

As she took my order,

My mouth hung open.

I couldn't speak,

I was frozen.

She tried again,

But I still couldn't speak.

She then called the baker,

"AJ, that guy's weird."

AJ began snapping

his fingers at my face.

I broke from trance,

To my disgrace.

AJ looked at me,

With squinted eyes.

He looked at Gyn, then back at me.

He wasn't surprised.

He suddenly said,

"I know what you want.

You'd like a muffin,

And more than that.

But not right now, kid,

You'll have to wait.

We're busy now,

But we close at eight."

I smiled so big

At what he said.

He gave me a muffin,

And some lemonade.

I gulp my drink,

Empty in one go,

I looked at Gyn,

And sang her a song.
