Jaune was with Coral,Amber, and Destiny as they were investigating a report of grimm in the forest near on of Vale village as they were walking they notice no grimm in the area

"I don't see anything." Amber said. "There's nothing here."

Destiny looked at them then turned back to look ahead she had her rifle out as Coral with her sword ready walked up beside her looking around for any signs that there could be something nearby

Jaune also looked around using his sense he felt nothing but heard movement off in the distance from where he stood he narrowed his eyes focusing trying to get an idea what it might have been

Suddenly a large black shadow appeared right before him blocking everything else out as if time stopped still Jaune saw two red glowing eyes staring down at him he quickly took cover behind one of the trees keeping himself hidden as he watched carefully waiting for whatever was going to attack or flee

The creature moved its head side to side watching him as it let loose another howl making all three girls jump and take cover behind some bushes

As soon as the sound ended so did the light leaving only darkness now as the creatures tail came into view swinging like a whip towards where Jaune hid

He dodged easily getting away without being touched by the weapon hitting the ground causing dirt to fly everywhere as he ran over to Coral who had taken shelter behind Amber and started helping her pick up pieces of glass that had fallen onto her legs while Destiny helped Amber up picking up more shards that had hit her leg

"Are you alright?" He asked Coral.

She nodded holding her hand against her bleeding wound

"We need to find help!" Amber yelled running through the woods looking for anyone coming their way as Jaune released black flames killing the creature as Coral looked at him

"I forgot you had those flames." She whispered amazed at how strong his black flames are as they continued to run until they reached the edge of town seeing several people standing outside talking about the incident

Coral walked around until she see a red dart appear on her head as she dodge a bullet heading toward her chest as Jaune notice them

"Get down!" Jaune yelled pointing at a group of men dressed in black uniforms firing shots towards them

They fell to the floor covering themselves as bullets flew past them striking the ground and tree's nearby

The men fired again this time hitting a few buildings sending debris flying across the street as Amber got up grabbing Jaune by his shirt pulling him behind the wall as they both lay flat

One of the men pointed at them as another shot went off close to Amber's face missing her as she ducked down putting her hands over her head

Another man stepped forward shooting at them as Jaune managed to pull his rifle and shoot him in the head killing him instantly as he pulled Coral with him moving out from hiding as the others began to fire upon them

Destiny jumped out from cover taking aim with her rifle at the assign as Amber crawled along the ground searching for a place to hide as she noticed a small hole opening up under a building as she made her way inside

"Come on! We can't stay here!" Jaune screamed at Coral as he pushed her to follow him as the other assign aimed their weapons at them

"Go!" Coral said pushing him aside as she charged after Destiny

Jaune followed her jumping down the hole as he aimed his rifle and fired as he hit two more assassin in the chest

As the last one tried to escape the blast from his gun caught him as he was sent flying into a brick wall shattering it to bits

Everyone waited in silence as the smoke cleared revealing everyone dead except for Amber who was sitting against the wall looking at her bloody hands as she wiped the blood off on them smirking

"So how many left." Coral asked as she looked at Jaune who sensed

"Only five." Jaune said as he sensed their location

"Okay we ambush them then." Coral said smirking as Jaune nodded

"Alright let do this." Amber said as Destiny nodded as they all charge as Coral swing her sword surprising the two as she decapitated their heads off. Amber blew one of the guy head off. Destiny shot one of the last assassin while Jaune brutally burned him till he died

"That it." Destiny asked as Jaune looked around noticing someone sneaking up behind them

"Let's go." Amber said as they ran out of the alleyway and headed back towards the center of the village as they spotted the remaining assassins

Destiny readied her rifle as Amber put her arm around Jaune's shoulder as they took position behind a pillar

"Don't worry I've got your back." Amber whispered kissing him on the cheek

Jaune blushed hearing Amber say that as he smiled knowing he couldn't lose even though these guys were stronger than most

"Now!" Amber yelled as they opened fire on the enemies causing them to scatter running for cover as they reloaded their guns

Jaune, Coral, Destiny Amber then continue to fire at the men with both pistol and rifle Coral took cover next to Amber as they kept shooting aiming for a kill

A bullet grazed Amber's arm as she grabbed her injured arm

"Ow! That hurts." Amber said as she held her wounded arm

"You alright?" Jade asked as Amber shook her head

"Yeah just a little cut." Amber said as she looked at the man she'd killed as the others returned to their positions as they fired upon

Destiny shot the last two in the head as Coral threw a grenade towards them destroying them as Amber stumbled backwards clutching her arm as she winced in pain

"I think it's broken." Amber said as she looked at it

"It looks bad." Jaune said as he looked at her arm

"Can you heal me?" Amber asked

"Sure." Jaune replied as he placed his palm over her injury

Instantly the wound closed as Amber gasped feeling relieved as the pain slowly faded away

"Thank you." Amber said smiling

"Where did all of these assassin come from." Coral asked as she picked up a piece of shrapnel

"Check their scroll " Destiny said added

"Maybe we should check it out." Jade suggested

"Sounds good to me." Jaune agreed as they headed toward the dead assassin's bodies which were scattered across the streets. They found a scroll tied to one of the assassins' belt

"What does it say?" Amber asked as they studied the lettering

"It says: 'kill Jaune teammate" Amber said

"Why would they want to kill us? Why not just capture us." Coral asked as Destiny sighed

"I'm sure they'll figure out why once they open the scroll and see what is inside." Destiny said as they all sat down on a bench looking at each other as they thought about what was written on the scroll as Jaune and the girls eyes widen as Jaune got angry as he teleported away leaving the girls angry as they called for a bullhead

Meanwhile at a location in Vale

Pyrrha was growling angrily as the assassin who were to capture Jaune girlfriend failed as she had to spent at least 100,000 Lien to kill Jaune team

"Dammit. I will make sure that you won't get away with this!" Pyrrha said in a furious tone while her eyes burned red hot and filled up with bloodlust as she was angrily muttering someone entered the room

"Not so powerful are you." Jaune said angrily staring at his ex partner Pyrrha who turned towards him " I gave you time and time warning not to mess with my loved ones. Unfortunately you crossed the line this time Pyrrha."

"You should have known better to break my heart now I will make sure your girlfriend would be dead" Pyrrha said as Jaune pulled his sword out

"This end here Pyrrha Nikos. I will do what I must to protect my loved one even if it's killing you" Jaune said as he charged towards her

The two of them clashed swords against each other for a few minutes before they both stopped moving their bodies began glowing purple and blue sparks started flying between the two of them

Jaune's body grew more stronger than ever but Pyrrha became more agile then she already is which

Then there was a loud bang sound followed by an explosion that sent the whole building shaking from side to side

"I'm sorry but this ends now." Jaune said looking at Pyrrha whose eyes looked like they were burning fire " You can't win over me anymore."

Pyrrha stared back at him and smiled "Oh no I don't think so. I won't stop until your mine and until I kill all of your girlfriend."

"..You are far to gone." Jaune said as he aimed his sword at her chest as A large amount of black energy surrounded Jaune entire body causing him to glow brightly

"Your lover will never be able to save you." She said smiling evily as her eyes glowed bright green " You will be mine."

Jaune charged at her with his sword as Pyrrha counter with her spear but Jaune dodged it easily

She tried to stab him again but Jaune jumped backwards dodging the attack

He grabbed her arm making her fall on the ground and kicked her head hard as she was sent flying through the halls as she threw her spear as Jaune blocked it as Pyrrha used her semblance Polarize to summon her spear back as Jaune sent several energy sphere at her

Pyrrha barely dodge it as Jaune went to clash his sword with hers once again but Pyrrha moved quickly using her aura to create a shield that absorbed most of the damage from Jaune's blows

They continued exchanging blow after blow until a small explosion happened near the ceiling and caused part of it to collapse on top of Pyrrha as she screamed in pain

Jaune rushed towards her trying to end this fight as he stabbed his sword into her chest but to his surprise Pyrrha begin to laugh loudly

Her laughter echoed throughout the hallways as her body began covered herself completely in armor made out of pure darkness as Jaune couldn't believe his eyes as he saw something terrifying as he saw Pyrrha becoming more powerful

"Thanks to this power from a deal I made with a man who wanted her soul." Pyrrha said as Jaune understood what she did

"So you sold your soul." Jaune said to his former partner as she slowly got up and looked at him " What did you become?"

"You see this is how we work together when our enemies are too strong for us." Pyrrha said smiling evilly as she took a step forward

"You have become an evil being Pyrrha." Jaune said as he activated Lunar manipulation to use his blade to slice her apart piece by pieces

"No. This is just a way to show you that I am now capable of winning you back." Pyrrha said as she summoned her own sword and shield

As the battle began to intensify both sides began fighting harder than they ever done before until Pyrrha created another barrier protecting herself as she attacked Jaune with a series of moves including a spinning kick, a thrusting slash, a punch, and a jumping knee strike

Each move hurt Jaune deeply but he managed to block every single one of them as he kept attacking Pyrrha relentlessly with his quirks and Semblance hurting her so much as she was healing from her new powers. Jaune knew he had to take it to the next level so he begin to activate his Phoenix magic and began channeling his mana into his hand as he charged at Pyrrha as he unleashed a wave of white flames that engulfed the entire hallway

Pyrrha tried to dodge the attack but she wasn't fast enough to avoid it as the flames burnt her body badly leaving only a few parts of her skin left on her body as she fell down onto the floor coughing up blood

After the attack ended Jaune walked towards her as he held his bloody hands in front of her face "Look what happens when you betray me." He said coldly as he pointed his fingers at her "This is the cost of betrayal Pyrrha."

Pyrrha got up as her wounds begin to slowly heal but she still felt weak and dizzy as she tried getting closer towards Jaune who stood right in front of her

She could feel her body heat rising and she could smell the sweet scent coming from his neck

"Now you know how it feels to be betrayed." Jaune whispered to her as he punch her so hard that she flew across the room and crashed into some pillars as she coughed up more blood "

"You will pay for all of the suffering you caused me Pyrrha." Jaune ran towards her with his aura punched her so many times that her ribs cracked and broke open as she collapsed on the ground unable to breath

"Any last word." Jaune said summoning his sword and aiming it at her chest as he waited for the final moment to finish her off " Anything else you want to say?"

"All I ever wanted was your love . Now you must see why I had to do it." Pyrrha said

"You didn't betray us. You betrayed yourself." Jaune said

Pyrrha stared at him with hate filled eyes as she spat on the floor "I will always love you"

"That's not I wanted to hear but..." Jaune said as he raised his sword above her " Now let's end this."

And with those words the blade sliced her torso cleanly opening her body wide as blood poured out of her mouth and nose as she gasped for air desperately

"I...will...find a way....to return....to make...you mine." Pyrrha said as she struggled to breathe "I will find...a way..."

With that she passed away due to loss of blood as Jaune lowered his sword and watched her lifeless body bleed out onto the ground as Jaune knew Pyrrha was gone for good

"Goodbye....Pyrrha." Jaune said as he activated his flame magic to burn her body as Coral Amber and Destiny entered weapons drawn

"Where is the bitch." Coral said

"Dead." Jaune said as he looked at the corpse of Pyrrha.

"I knew she would become a traitor, and now look what happened!" He threw down his arm which was covered in Pyrrha blood. "She was my first partner and best friend. Why did she do this? Where did it all go wrong. Despite all of my hatred why does a part of me care for her." He fell to his knees sobbing uncontrollably

Jaune's teammate  watched on helplessly. They had never seen him like this before. This wasn't the confident leader they were used too. It felt so out of place for them but there was nothing that could be done about it right then and there.

Coral approached slowly with Amber and Destiny close behind. She kneeled next to Jaune placing her hand on his shoulder trying to comfort him. But he just continued crying into his hands without saying anything or looking up from where he sat.

I don't know Jaune, I really don't...But she made her choice long ago..." Destiny tried comforting him again as Jaune looked at her

"She was your ex partner sometimes their a part of us that still deeply care for that person even after betrayal." Amber said as Jaune sighed and nodded.

"Maybe your right..despite my hatred a part of me didn't want to see her dead." Jaune said sadly as Coral hugged him tightly.

"We'll get through this together okay?" Coral asked gently rubbing his back

"Yeah sure...but you guys have no idea how much shit show going to happen now. A lot of people are going to question what happened to Pyrrha ?" Jaune questioned quietly.

"You're not alone in this Jaune. We are here for you, always will be." Amber said hugging him tight

Destiny placed her hand over his chest while holding onto his shoulders.

"Thanks everyone," Jaune replied as he wiped away some tears. "It means a lot knowing that."

Amber smiled softly at him, happy he seemed better than earlier.

"Come on let's head back home and tell our families what happened." Coral suggested as the group began walking towards the portal.
