Tomorrow was going to be a shock for the students

No One's POV

It was morning, and Ash was up first, so he decided to make breakfast after doing his morning routine.

A few minutes later, Gary and Kukui were up and had breakfast together with the pokémons like does the past week.

The two boys went to change and prepare while Kukui cleaned up.

At The Pokémon School Classroom

The students were chatting away and played with their pokémons as usual while waiting for the professor to enter.

Always excited for the new lessons he comes up with. Professor Kukui entered not long after, and everyone returned to their seats.

"Alola!" They greeted.

"Alola! Today we have two special guests from Kanto that will join us today!" Ash and Gary entered, the Z-Ring catching the eye of Kiawe, but he made no comment.

"Alola everyone, I am Gary, and this is Ash. It is a pleasure to meet you all!" Gary introduces them. Ash just nodded as he scanned the classroom, waving back at Mallow.

They realised this was the two same boys that asked where the principle office was.

"Thank you, Gary, now how we go to the field? Today we will be observing them have a duel. Let's go!" Kukui said as they all went to the field where some other students were already occupying, training their pokémons.

"Okay, this a battle between Ash and Gary. This will be a one v one battle. The battle ends when either one's pokémon is unable to battle. Please send out your pokémons" Professor Kukui said.

Thee students sat with their pokémons a good distance so they won't get hurt.

"I can't wait to see them battle," Kiawe said excitedly, Turtonator and Charizard too nodded in agreement.

"I wonder what pokémon they are going to use," Lilie said.

"Yea" They all agreed.

"Alright, just like old times?" Ash smiled

This confused the students but did not comment on it.

"Of course, Blastoise get ready!" Gary says as he released his starter.

"Charizard let's fight together again, buddy!"

Charizard made a loud menacing roar as he looked directly at his opponent, and both got into an attacking stance.

This caught the attention of the others around the area.

"Wow, their presence are powerful!" Kiawe commented as they all looked in awe at the two. His Charizard looked at Ash's observing it.

"But doesn't Ash has a disadvantage? Charizard is weak to Blastoise typing." Lana inquired.

"Yea that is true" Sophocles agreed.

"Type advantage is not everything" Kiawe answered them, looking at the two Kanto starters in curiosity.

"Three...Two...One...Begin!"

"Hydro Pump!"

Charizard dodged it with ease. He glanced at Ash and got a nod in return, he flew up and dived down towards Blastoise with a steel wing ready.

Before Gary could say anything, Charizard blasted a powerful Dragon Pulse and flew up to dodge the Hydro pump.

"Wow! Such speed!" Mallow said. They were all shocked at the extreme speed shown by Charizard

Blastoise backed up a bit from the attack and stared at Charizard, not backing down.

"Quick Blastoise use Rock Tomb!" Gary shouted when he saw Charizard had left an opening.

The attack successfully hit its target, making Charizard fall and crash into the ground. Charizard roared again, getting up from the fall. He used Roost in an attempt to recover from the damage.

They continued, throwing attacks at each other while countering each other's attacks.

This exchange only lasted a minute, though. The two starters jumped back to their original spot. They were determined not to lose to their old rival.

"Time to have fun, this is getting boring. Right Ash"

"Yup it is."

The students wondered what they were going to do — confused about why they called it boring.

"Alright Charizard, time to Mega evolve into Charizard X!" Ash shouts as he pulls out the neckless out that held the Keystone in the Arceus Symbol. It reacted with the Mega Stone on Charizard.

"Blastoise time to mega evolve too!" Gary said as he revealed the Keystone on his bracelet, it too reacted to the Mega stone on Blastoise.

They let out a roar after the transformation. This caught everyone's attention, "Wow, professor, what is that?" Lilie asked. "That is called Mega evolution."

"It's so cool! Can you tell us more about it after the battle?" They said in awe.

"Of course."

"Alright, Charizard Fly up high!"

"Dragon Pulse!"

Charizard flew out of the way before the Dragon Pulse could hit him.

"That was a close call" Kukui commented.

"Would it that bad if it hit Charizard? Isn't it a Fire and flying."

"Yes but one thing about Mega evolutions is that it can change the typings, so now Charizard is a Dragon fire," Kukui informed them, looking at how Blastoise used Rapid Spin to avoid another Dragon Pulse and Charizard using Steel wing to block the Hydro pump that came his way.

"Oh, so the Dragon Pulse would have been super effective on the Charizard," Lilie concluded.

"Yes, tho still, it is better not to take the hit as now they are soon going have to end the battle."

"Dragon Claw!"

"Rapid Spin!"

Charizard was diving down while Blastoise was spinning toward him.

Charizard stopped his attack and did a roll while using Dragon Tail at the last second, slamming Blastoise into the ground.

"Now finish things off with Seismic Toss!"

"Blastoise use Crunch."

Charizard winces in pain but continued to fly up.

"Would Charizard be able to pull it off?" Mallow asked worriedly.

"I..I don't know" Kiawe answered. His Charizard smirked, knowing the victory going to who.

Blastoise stopped using Crunch as he got dizzy and not long after slammed into the ground.

He stood up, but before fainting  "You won again Fire Lizard, great battle."

"Great Job Blastoise"

They both returned back to their normal forms.

"And the winner is Ash"

They clapped for the amazing battle they saw happened.

"You win again Ash, great job."

Ash smiled and nodded his head as he patted Charizard and gave him a berry before returning him back.

He walked up to Blastoise and gave him a berry too, he smiled in appreciation and was soon returned to his pokéball.

"The both you were amazing!" Sophocles said they rest nodded their head in agreement.

"Thanks," Gary said as Ash nodded.

"Now shall we return to the classroom? Ash and Gary will help me with the rest of the lesson" Professor Kukui smiled, and they made their way back to the classroom.

"Class dismissed," Kukui said and left with the two Kanto Boys who were chatting away happily.

"Should we enrol in? It not fun being alone, even tho we have each other" Gary brought up.

"I don't mind," Ash says.

"Can we enrol in Professor?"

"Of course! I will tell Samson about it."

"Thank you," they said and continued to talk about random stuff till they reached home and decided to have their pokémons rest for the day.

In the conversation, Gary said that his Rockruff has already evolved, and it evolved into the Midnight form.

His Rockruff ran off to the open area at night and howled, walking him up to see his Rockruff evolving into the Midnight form.

Ash said his has yet to evolve. He went to the area outside the house and released his Rockruff who was itching for a battle.

"Ah, I see. He may evolve today actually" Kukui said. Suddenly both Gary's and Professor Kukui's Lycanroc came out of their pokéball and looked at the Puppy pokémon.

They then started to howl at the sunset, Rockruff howling along, the three just stared at what was happening.

Rockruff was engulfed in the white light, and soon he evolved into neither the Midday nor Midnight form, but the mix of the two forms.

He then nuzzled the two Lycanrocs and went to Ash and started to nuzzle him, and both Gary and Kukui.

"It has such beautiful green eyes," Gary says.

"It should be called the Dusk form," Ash says as the two other Lycanrocs walked back.

"The pokédex didn't say about this form of Lycanroc! I should add it into the database" Kukui says as he patted the Dusk Lycanroc.

'What an event today. I wonder what he would surprise us with next.'
