Chapter Six: Betrayal Part Two (Percy)
When our woke up the following morning, I remembered the talk Nico and I had had the night before. I truly smiled for the first time in a long time.
Then I remembered Jason threatening Ted. I got angry again and walked out the door and to his cabin.
I knocked on the door and Thalia opened it. She smiled sadly when she saw me.
"Hi," she said. "I'm sorry about Annabeth." I nodded.
"Is Jason in there?" I asked.
"No," she said. "When I saw him he was heading for my pine tree." I nodded.
"Thanks, Thalia," then I ran off in the opposite direction.
I saw Jason and started walking. I decided to look normal before talking to him. When I got to him, he turned to face me. I was about to talk when I noticed him smiling evilly. We were outside of the Camp's borders. Suddenly the ground shifted, and the ground beneath my feet split apart.
I managed to grab the ground above me by my fingertips, not enough to pull myself up, but enough to hold myself there for a while. I let lose a scream filled with pure terror. It was my true and only emotion at the moment, because I knew where this whole led- Tartarus.
Nico and a bunch of other campers had formed at the bottom of the hill. Nico looked at me. He knew where the whole led to too.
"Tartarus," he whispered. Then he ran towards me. He almost reached me, but he didn't get there in time.
He heard me say, "I'll always love you, Nico," before the ground that I was holding gave way and I fell down into the pit, the ground closing above me.
