Chapter 11- Lizzie's POV
"Papa!" I exclaimed seeing my father standing at the edge of the woods with his arms folded across his chest. I ignored the other two men as I launched myself at my father, causing him to chuckle and take a step back.
"Hello, Liz," he said, his voice the same as it had been. He held me close to him and rubbed my back.
"Since you are back for good, can you start training me again?" I scowled at Cage, causing him to glare at me.
"No," my father said, causing my scowl to deepen. He raised an eyebrow, not even caring. "Cage is a good Warrior. He has been helping you improve."
"Ya, by being a dick," I muttered, causing Cage to growl at me. I looked towards the man standing at my father's side when I heard a growl coming that way. My throat clenched up when I saw the familiar blonde hair male glaring at Cage.
Cage glanced at him with a dismissive look before looking back at me. He wasn't fazed by the growling male, but I could tell that he was a bit jealous. He knew that this male was my mate.
I looked at my father. "I am going to take a shower," I said, "And get ready." I looked at Cage to see with his mouth open. "No, I didn't do what you wanted me to do. I did train. I had a race with Hailey and Chris."
"Then you can't shower, not until you get it done," Cage said. "I don't care if it means you have to miss the first part of your birthday."
I rolled my eyes and started to walk towards the pack house. I didn't say a word to Axel, wanting him to hurt like I had been hurting. "Not happening."
My father moved out of my way and grabbed Axel's arm. He had his eyes on the both of us and watched us with a calculating expression as if he knew what we were planning on doing.
"Yes, it will," Cage said, growling at me. "Do not make me use force," he warned.
I shot him a smirk and winked. "Make me," I said. My breathing was even as I waited for the annoyed male to do something. I knew what I was doing, knowing that he was going to need this as much as I needed it.
Cage snarled and lunged at me. His eyes were black as night, anger burning in them. His lip was curled, and his teeth were bared, and I knew that he was angry.
As soon as he was close enough to grab me, I dodged his attack. I kept my hands near my face. My whole body was tense and ready as I waited for Cage to do something else.
Cage twisted around mid-air and landed on his feet with a hand on the ground. He moved forward at a slow, calculating pace as he waited for me to do something.
I stayed in my spot and ignored the male that was softly growling. I knew that he was wanting to protect me, but I didn't need to be protected especially from someone like Cage.
Cage lunged towards me and fell backward as I delivered a hard kick to his side. He jumped back up as soon as he was down, indicating that this battle was far from over.
I dodged his attack and slammed my heel into his back as he went past. Quickly, I pulled my leg back before he was able to pull me down and danced out of his reaching grasp.
Cage snarled and sent a kick and a punch my way, causing me to block the punch and slamming my foot onto his knee. He growled out in pain but didn't quit as he lashed out at me.
I grunted when the punch landed on my side not able to move out of his way quick enough. I twisted around the kick he sent my way, ignoring the throbbing in my side because I knew that it would heal later.
"Enough," Cage growled out as I dodged another of his attacks. "Fight."
I grunted out my response and slammed my fist into his nose, breaking it again. I smirked when he growled out in pain before starting to attack him with no slowing down.
He attacked me with the same intensity and ferocity that I was doing to him, causing our movements to blur.
We both knew each other like the back of our hands. We knew which attack we preferred and how fast we could hit our weak spots. We knew what the other one would do, not caring if the other had just gotten hit before another punch or another kick.
What we didn't know was who would be the victor. It varied from day to day, depending on how angry or how tired we were feeling. It depended on who wanted it the most and if we would do something different than our normal dance.
And, on that particular day with that particular moment, I was the victor. I had defeated Cage within the last second of claiming defeat of my own.
It was I who had shown both my father and mate that this was what I had been preparing for the last four years and that I wasn't someone that needed to be protected.
And, I showed Cage that the Nosac bloodline was still superior to his bloodline, for he was of an old bloodline too and he didn't land on top.
