5 - Clumsy

Seth
"Me?" Roman nodded, a kinda happy mischievous looking grin on his face, of course I am going to be suspicious. "Yeah, Becky told me to tell you she thinks your cute. Punk and a soft boy, match made in heaven...or hell?" Roman smirked and I would've thrown a pillow at his head, but we both had pizzas on our laps. "I only just met the girl, calm down Ro. Most people think I'm cute." I flashed an adorable smile and Roman just rolled his eyes. "I certainly don't." I laughed, this time launching a pillow at his head not caring about the pizza. "You excited for uni tomorrow?" I stopped eating, feeling the anxiety start to creep back in...memories flooding my mind from my last day of school.

[ "I've been waiting to long for this..."
"How did you even find me?"
'You can't run from me." ]

"Yeah of course!" I spoke in an enthusiastic tone but Roman wasn't buying it. "I can see somethings bothering you, what is it?" I shrugged my shoulders, trying to hold myself together as I placed the pizza box down on the sofa. "Seth you've got no reason to not be excited,  what happened in Pennsylvania isn't going to happen again~" I screwed my eyes shut. "I know, I know but my stupid brain can't let me forget about it..." I felt Roman's arms wrap around me and I just broke, my tears now falling heavily down my face. "Iowa's going to be different, it's going to be our place...I can just feel it."

Seth walked into his new classroom and he felt so out of place, the teacher greeted him and the only free seat left was next to Becky so he made his way over to her, sitting down awkwardly retrieving his book from his bag. "Class please read pages 12-16 of Pride and Prejudice, writing down any important key points...silently." Seth reached in his bag to grab the book but his cheeks flushed red when he'd forgotten it, luckily Becky slid her book between them both so they could share.

The rest of the class went by too quickly for Seth's liking, now he's wandering around the university grounds admiring the blooming flowers as he walks. He wasn't looking where he was going and he walked right into someone, falling to the ground and knocking them over with him. His mouth was spilling apologies as he tried to pick up the books. "Are you always this damn clumsy?" The voice was harsh but seemed familiar somehow. "Sorry~" An angry grunt was heard. "You've said that a thousand times already, just look where you're going and get that head of yours out of the clouds." The voice was bitter and it made goosebumps arise on the surface of Seth's skin. Seth finally looked up and his mouth fell completely open, Bayley. "Wait Rollins?" The tone of her voice softened completely as she helped him off the floor. "God how long has it been?" Bayley spoke as she visually checked over Seth, already babying him like she used to when she was with Roman. "Wanna get coffee?"

Seth
"How have you been?" I asked as Bayley placed down a hot chocolate in-front of me. "Good, well as good as I could be. I went through a lot after Roman left, after you both left." A pained expression was clear on her face as she looked down at her coffee. "You want to talk about it? I haven't got any more lessons today." She hesitantly nodded, taking several deep breaths before starting. "Well not long after you guys left for Pennsylvania I got sick, after a week I went to the doctors and uh...found out I was pregnant." She paused, looking down at her hands before tightening her ponytail. "I tried calling Roman, but he never returned my calls. I didn't know what to do, I told my parents and they kicked me out. I didn't have anyone to turn to, so I ended up on the streets." Bayley picked up her napkin to stop the tear from rolling down her cheek. "Things got bad but I had to keep going for my baby. One day a blonde walked past me, looking richer than everyone around my home town. She stopped and took me in the minute she saw my baby bump."

Bayley pulled her phone out to show me a photo of this blonde and it was Charlotte, I didn't have the heart to tell her about Charlotte and Roman. "She was good to me but things they didn't get any better, I went to a doctors appointment and uh...they picked up a defect in the babies heart and the more tests they did the moe problems they found. I must've called Roman thousands of times but he never answered, so alone I was delivered the news at 18 weeks pregnant that...my baby wouldn't make it." She stopped and I stood from my chair, moving to wrap my arms around her. "But he did for a week, then he couldn't hold on for any longer and I lost him." She mumbled from my shoulder and I just clutched onto her tightly, feeling terrible for leaving Bayley to deal with this all alone.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you...that Roman wasn't there for you." She shook her head. "Don't be sorry, something good came out of it all. I found someone new, a nurse who worked at the hospital and he was just perfect, he understood all my pain and without him I certainly wouldn't be in this uni right now, I'd probably be...dead..." She whispered the last part and I released my tight grip on her. "You deserve to be happy." She smiled, pulling her phone out once more to show me a picture of this 'nurse'. "His name's Finn, works in the hospital down the road from here now, he transferred here when I went to uni. So is there anyone special in your life?" I went to say no but then Becky flashed into my mind. "Maybe...I'm not sure, I only met her a couple of days ago." She gave me a look, an almost knowing look. "Right, you definitely like her. I can see it in your eyes, as long as it's not Rebecca Lynch then we're all good."

"Guess we're all good then? But why not Rebecca Lynch?" She eyed me and I resisted breaking. "I've heard a lot about her, like her family kicked her out and she carries a knife around with her. Just don't want you getting in with a bad crowd because if you hang around Becky, you hang around Sasha and Dean and then you hang around all of her somewhat friends and you become one of the weird kinda high kids that smoke joints in the bathroom." She just shook her head, taking a breath before polishing off the rest of her mug.

"But Seth seriously, keep away from her if you can help it. Now, I've finally managed to get my hands on some Disney films if you'd like to make your way into the living room, I'm going to chuck on one of your favourites." I jumped from my seat, downing the rest of my hot chocolate and heading towards the living room. The sofa was probably the comfiest thing I'd sat on in a while, completely sinking into it as Bayley turned the movie on.

The title screen started playing for 'Beauty and the Beast' and I couldn't help but gasp, covering my mouth shyly with my hands. "You remembered!" Bayley chuckled, sinking into the sofa alongside me. "I lived with you for almost two years, how could I forget?"
